Using Dual SIMs with H873 variant - LG G6 Questions and Answers

I was wondering if anyone had tried using 2 Sims with the North American variants of the LG G6?
Has anyone tried it or know if it can be done? Thanks.

I'm wondering if you just buy dual sim tray (international version)
I'm pretty sure that the US version doesn't support dual sim feature.

Damn this looks pretty cool though. I wonder if T-Mobile changed something the software to make this not possible..
Dual sim only works on international models that have two sim trays and two imei numbers. None of the US carrier versions support this.

Is Dual Sim an option at all on the S7 Edge from AT&T? SM-G935A

Any advise guys?
I dont think dual sims are normally sold in the US. I purchased my from hongkong. Although i live in the UK i do like to use dual sims. However samsung s7 has one big problem. You can either use 2 sims or 1 sim and 1 sd card combination.

Yes I know dual sims is not big in US. This unit will be sent to my family in India hence the dual sim question. There is a hack to use 2 Sims plus microSD card but that's for later. Right now I want to know if there is a way to use two sims on my phone's model.
Thanks!

Help - if I buy the LG V20 to use in the UK (unlocked) how do I update and 4G?

I posted this in the general section, but then I found this specific V20 area and hopefully you guys will be far more knowledgeable than I am.
I'm on an EE contract in England. the LG V20 is the phone I want to buy but it's not released here in the UK (ebay seems the only option and the closest).
It's got Nougat but it will eventually have updates. the LG V20 does not seem to be scheduled for release in the UK. How, if possible, can I update the phone's Android since my network does not stock that phone?
And it will work on 4G in the UK too?
Thank you for the help, I'm a novice Android user.
Cause you can update as and when available by the manufacturer if it's unlocked.

I just took the plunge and bought on eBay should be delivered next few days. I went for H990DS version which is apparently compatible with all 4g networks in the uk.
I would venture you can update manually with whatever lg uses to flash stock firmware or it will find an update over wifi.

Hi did you manage to get the V20? Does the H990DS work well in the UK? Does it connect to 4G and is there option for video calling?
Sorry for asking to many questions I'm looking to buy as well
Thanks in advance

I have an F800 Korean version using it on Vodafone. All 4G bands are supported. The only one missing is the 900MHz HSDPA band. Video calling works just fine. The downside is that you get the operator bloatware and is not easy to get rid of it.
P.S. Check the 4G(LTE) bands of your operator before buying. For example the Korean version you won't get 4G on O2.

Have you tried flashing Global rom?

How you finding it?

I ordered mine too, so hopefully get it around the 7th/8th. I got the Taiwan version because of more 4G support in U.K. It will be used on EE and 3. In the past I have achieved speeds of 100mb with the Note, so would like to see how this would do as well. Such a shame we have to import... lg should be taking advantage of Samsung's catastrophic failure with the note 7. Oh by the way does anyone know if they share sim and sd card or the sd has its own dedicated slot?

I have the F800S. Is the SK Telecom model with some bloatware but the phone itself is great. Quality build and the audio and camera are superb. I wish I could somehow remove the Korean dialer. Even if you select English it still shows the Korean characters.
AUSSIES interested in the H990DS dual sim with 4g/3g capability, its available for $984 local stock, local shipping, genuine AU 12 month warranty from me. Only sold in 1 retailer outright/unlocked, JB HIFI from 8/11 with a price of $1099.

They share a slot. The SD card sits on top of the SIM card

Hi all. Bit late to this chat but I've just bought an LG V20 online and am a little worried as LG themselves are telling me that I won't be able to connect to the 4G network at all as the frequencies are different. However the frequencies available on the specifications of the phone DO match the frequencies used by EE for 4G in the UK; are the LG operatives confused? Do your V20s work okay on the UK's 4G ? Thanks in advance
I'm also in the UK and I've had my H990ds Taiwan variant for 4 days.
I'm on Tesco Mobile (which uses o2) and 4G LTE is working just fine.

VoLTE and at&t

Anyone use the US variant on at&t and get VoLTE?

It doesn't support it. IMEI not recognized in AT&T's system. I am pretty sure there is no AT&T stuff baked into the US Unlocked version like the HTC 10 had. The software seems to be the same as the dual SIM international variant with the same bands.

Is LG G6 H870 Eropean model region locked?

Just as the title says, is the H870 region locked, can I use non-european sim cards?
To be more specific, can I use Japanese sim card?
Phones are not region locked. The real question is does the phone support the bands available in the region that you want to use it.
Hey, thanks for clarification, I just heard something about lg blocking foreign sim cards, but I couldn't find anything about it. Also, as far as I know, bands shouldn't be of any problem.

If you got it on contract from a carrier it could be carrier locked. I am on EE UK and my G6 H870 is sim locked to EE.

LG doesn't block anyone's SIM cards. Only carriers lock phones.
