Changing roms isn't really going to help with a faulty battery but you could change kernel. I'd recommend electron or Franco kernel. Also, you could try this as it limits the cores which decreases performance but improves your battery consumption. https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6p/general/guide-fix-nexus-6p-bootloop-death-blod-t3640279

ROM with best battery life?

Coming from an LG G2 (long story), battery life is what I miss the most. The nexus 4 has about half the screen on time than my g2 did.
I'm already unlocked and rooted but still stock ROM. Are there any Roms that significantly improve battery life?
I found smart 3G on Cataclysm to be pretty good at saving battery.
ROMs and kernels have little to do with battery. Your usage, signal for mobile data and WiFi, screen brightness, your configuration for location services, gps and the like and your apps determine your battery life.

I'd try Paranoid. I used it for a while after using stock and I found that the battery improved.
roms have absolutely zilch when it comes to battery life. only thing rims can do with battery is reduce it. generally, the more added mods/features a rom has, the worse the battery life. but not always. battery life is determined by hiw you personally use your phone, how you set it uo, what apps you use, and the quality of your phone/data connection. everything else, including kernels, have a very minimum effect on battery.
Well
When I was with Carbon, the play store thing killed my battery to 3hrs on screen time
Switched over to Purity Rom with Hells kernel and I have 5-6 on screen time
WiFi on all the time, no data or GPS or Bluetooth.
Mostly Reddit and a game or two, and a movie

Kernel doesn't make much of a difference either. See simms22 post above

Okay, but why is the battery life better with an another kernel?
I use the HeelsCreed kernel and Mahdi rom. My battery life is better with the HeelsCreed kernel as with the Kernel of the Mahdi rom.
P.S.: I know my english is bad, sorry for that

set up your CPU and everything else just how the kernel sets it up for you, and you'll get the same battery life. be more active, set things up manually.

can you tell the story please , anyway ROM has weee little to do with battery life , its mostly on how you use it and the kernel you are using as well as sync loops and dodgy leaky apps , my personal setup is rom = paranoid android and kernel = hellsdoctor , using synapse app i switched the maximum clock speed to 1.2 Ghz , and changed the maximum core online to two, gpu is overclocked by default , rest is, location settings are turned off only turned on when required , brightness is set to 50 % , no dodgy apps on the phone , i can squeeze about 5 and half hours sometimes 6 its good enough for this battery size though and hope it works out for you :good:

Battery friendly Custom ROM

Can anyone suggest a battery friendly ROM here? I'm only getting around 2 hrs screen on time with data/wifi on had to charge 2 times during the day to keep my device alive.
Try changing your battery, you will be satisfied with the result. Cheers

Only issue is there are barely any batteries available. I was looking for a new battery on Ebay and Amazon, though I could not find any with enough positive ratings/reviews.

I Tried CM Roms not very good on drainage but you seem to have a good battery hrs. Straight wifi/date my note 3 only gets about 2 hrs all on Phronesis/Aryamad 6.5 and Aryamod v2.1
I found AryaMod S7Edge v6.5 to be the best of the lot.
Galaxy S5 port 6.0.1 is the best.

Chemical orientation of battery gets jumbled over time resulting in lesser juice than normal. Hence, it needs rest of a month or two. You better purchase a new battery and give rest to your old battery after charging it to 100% and then keep alternating the new with the old one. Means, keep one battery inside for a month or so then replace it with the other. This way your new and old battery will perform almost identical and their life will prolong as well :fingers-crossed:

Nexus 6p stand by battery life on pure nexus

Hello everyone , hope y'all doin good.
I got a question. I got my 6p a new rom , purenexus... Flashed a new kernel (elementalx). I did it yesterday , but today morning , I woke up , on 100% , unplug my phone , put it on my pocket and 2 hours latter , I had like 96%. This is a massive decrease over stock Android when it came outta the box. Can someone tell me if this is normal or not , or what shall I do to get the impressive 1 month on stand by that I had (phone was on 70% , broke the screen , didn't touch it , repaired it , when I turned it back on , it was on 37% , for a whole month+). What shall I do to get the best outta stand by time ?
Get pure nexus Jan 21st build flash Franco then apply wingoku profile 2.1 with ex kernel manager and you'll be flying with the best battery life

Check your battery capacity with Accubattery. Run it a few times. Your battery may be degraded like many other ppl out there. To rule out the ROM itself, flash stock and compare.

Everything with the battery is ok , just got to get a good standby time , does anyone has any tips ?
Well, how many apps have you installed I the last 24 hours? Maybe all your apps are optimizing possibly?
What do you have running?
Any chance you were playing music?
Did the phone have a y heat to it when you took it out your pocket?
Also... I always felt that the first 1-5% goes really fast.

Ha Ha, what is your measured capacity with Accubattery? Probably thousands of ppl are having degraded battery problems. If you are looking for a limited PN fanboy response, why not just post in the dedicated PN sub-forum? You have a battery drain problem but apparently don't want to run a battery diagnostic to find out where the problem really lies, or flash to stock and find out if your custom ROM is the cause. A "tip" is not going to cure your problem. It requires homework.
Edit: Another issue is that the 6P is inaccurate at reporting 100% charging. Your device may charge for up to an hour longer to actually be full on the stock charger after showing 100%. What you see as fully charged may not be.
I left Pure Nexus because battery life was very poor compared to stock and Cortex. I thought it might stabilize after a couple days but the poor battery life was a constant and I was not the only person having that issue. I was running PN with Flash Kernel and Flash's profile. You will get better battery life with Franco Kernel but with noticable negative effect on the performance of your phone. You could always try Francos Naptime app which puts your phone into deep doze as soon as the screen goes off but I didn't personally care for the app. You might want to consider a different Rom if battery life is very concerning to you. I'm currently on Dirty Unicorns with Flash Kernel and I'm getting better battery life than Pure Nexus but not as good as Cortex. The problem with Cortex is that you have to use Flash Kernel to get good battery life and there is no OMS support. When Substratum stopped working in Legacy Mode (again) I decided to switch to a Rom with OMS support.

Bad Battery on Aprils update

Hello,
is it just me or the battery on April's update drains a lot quicker than any previous updates?
I am currently using PureNexus 23/4 clean flash no mods and the battery is draining like crazy when playing some games or using it in general.
I know it depends on how are you using the phone, but this month is draining a bit faster than normally does.
I've used various ROMs with the April's update and are all the same.
I'm getting good battery life on latest DU.

i have the same feeling too..im on stock rom..i was getting between 4.5 to 5 hr sot most of the time, after aprils update getting only 4 hr.

Not on stock with EX Kernel. Check your battery capacity.
Not familiar with the Pure Nexus kernel. You might want to install a kernel auditor program like Ex Kernel Manager and check what your current kernel settings are. They could be set at a more performance oriented profile that eats battery faster. Since Pure Nexus is an Aosp Rom with its own kernel your experience on Pure Nexus wouldn't be applicable to people on other Roms. The best place to post your question would really be the Pure Nexus support thread.
LOL this question pops up after every update

Every single time people say their battery life decreases. Without fail. Im surprised by now their phone can even still hold charge since they say it drops with every update
I have a problem after that update. My 6p is stock and come after the beta 7.1.2, I full reset to factory and the drain is still here. Before if I left the phone overnight it drain 2-3% in 5h. Now it drain 13/15% ore more... And the battery interface doesn't report a specific app or internal process.

Check your battery capacity with Accubattery just to be sure it's not battery degradation, and install BBS or GSam to identify a wakelock, process or app sapping the battery.
Ok, thanks. I've installed Accu and gsam. I will see.

Rom recommendation

Hi everyone, I m currently on oxygen os 3.5.9 and my battery drains like crazy. Can you guys please recommend me a rom that gives good screen on time. I am even willing to downgrade to lollipop because battery life is really crucial for me. Thanks!!
I'm in the same case, looking for the best choice with the maximum stability and good battery life
I tried so but returned to LineAge even if the battery life is not really good but the ROM is the most stable ever now
Tonight will try Carbon to test, but if someone found the best compromise in one ROM That it notifies us
Try AOSCP. It's really good.
Moyses I tried lineage and yes the same issue battery is not that great. Hopefully we will find a good battery friendly rom. Let me know how the carbon rom works for you.
Ny_3 thanks I will check it out. What's the average screen on time that you get with this rom?
I would either recommend AospExtended/AEX or Resurrection Remix if you like customizability. I am using AEX and don't have any problems with battery life.

Well I've got 3 and a half hours of SOT but it's really the best I've got on a custom rom (guess my battery is bad). I actually bought a new battery 2 days ago so I will have to check how it is after that. But thats basicaly what I get most of the time using FB messenger Spotify and YouTube. Keep in mind its not full of features. It's kinda like Paranoid 6 : Smooth, not full of features, and really stable.
