Considering purchase- Android Wear App? Barclays Bank (UK) App? - Huawei Mediapad M3 Questions & Answers

I am looking to replace my Sony Xperia Z Ultra with the international BTV-DL09 version.
Can you install Android Wear from the play store to connect a smartwatch to the tablet?
I have a LG Watch Sport and would like to receive emails/SMS/phone calls etc received on the SIM installed in the tablet through to the smartwatch, like i do presently from my Sony Xperia Z Ultra.
Additionally, for anyone in the UK, does the Barclays Bank app install okay?
Thanks.

Android wear installs. Not tried connecting it to the watch yet. Bad news on the Barclays front. Mine is the WiFi only version and not sure if the LTE version would allow install

Thanks for trying the Barclays app.
Not a deal breaker though.

Italian pre-orders starting to ship...

Hi all,
Just received an email from Sony Mobile that my order of one Z1 Compact and the 1 EUR bluetooth headphone has shipped! Eager to receive it... I just ordered a microSD card from Amazon to put some music and videos on!
It will be my first Android phone (I have one tablet)... any suggestions on what's the first thing I should do? Perhaps some bloatware clean-up, or installing some essential apps... I don't think I will root it or install some custom ROM so early in its "life" eheh...

smartwatch help to find

Hello
I've looked all over the net and can't find answers to these questions. Maybe someone can help?
1) are there any standalone smartwatches that use sim cards? i want to be able to use whatsapp and get sports scores without needing a phone.
some smartwatches seem to have gps but not Internet, Internet but no appstore etc. very confusing.
sony smartwatch 3 was perfect if it had a sim slot.
only found Samsung gear s and lg urbane 2 that have sim slots. Samsung gear s sold out and runs tizen, and lg urbane is ridiculously priced at apple customers level.
2) are there any chinese smartwatches running Android that can do the above? that i don't know of?
3) are there any chinese smartwatchs running Android that can be flashed to run android wear?
4) i saw these articles last year of a $49 realtek chip mt2601 smartwatch running Android 4.4 on it, but can't find it being sold anywhere even a year later?
thanks

advice: buy Axon 7 in China to use in UK?

Hi,
I've been tempted by the Axon 7 for some time now having seen it in Beijing, and was excited to see it demoed in the ZTE Demo truck that went to our local shopping centre, presuming that it would be released imminently. Unfortunately, it hasn't appeared and since the mini version *has* appeared (Car Phone Warehouse), I presume it isn't going to be released at all.
So, I have been wondering what my options are. Is it plausible to buy one when I'm next in China and use it easily in the UK? I'm reasonably literate with phones and flashing/etc, so I could perhaps do that too, if it is an option. Does the Axon 7 in China have all the same hardware features as would be expected in the UK? I'm particularly thinking of things like NFC for Android Pay - NFC isn't used much at all in China, so it would be (almost) sensible for them to leave that off phones sold there, but it is something I would want. I would certainly want the Play Store and such like.
I have used a Chinese phone in the UK and successfully installed the Play Store on it (and it had an Intel CPU so it wasn't completely straight forward). It was also a ZTE phone (Geek v975) as it happens.
Any advice on what to do?
Max.
PS. My main reason for the Axon 7 is the front-facing speakers. However, other than not allowing *both* microsd *and* 2nd SIM, it is pretty much spot-on (note that HTC One X9 has a dedicated microsd slot and great front-facing speakers, but I can't find one that isn't locked to CMCC, and it doesn't seem to be so well thought of on this forum, though I see it does have a forum so I'll ask there too).
Axon 7 is a greate deal of hardware.
Of course you can use Chinese version on UK, but you have to flash Global rom and modem.
I myself own a Chinese version, but I flash US rom, because chinese rom is lack of play store and full of crappy app
Hi David
I did exactly what you are thinking about. I'm typing this reply from a 128gb Chinese zte axon 7. I bought from Ali express. When you but from china the seller will root the phone to enable Google play store. That's fine but it screws up obtaining the OTA updates. I can walk you through how to overcome this and get onto 7.1.1. No root nothing like that. My advice it's easy and you can save a packet getting a great phone.
Currently you can pick up an axon 7 for 270. Job done.
I'm running my 128gb Cuba version as well. I have 2 sims and an sd card running on it. There's a few threads on how to go about it. There's not much that needs doing apart from installing Google on the phone. Everything is simple. Just use the search function and you will get everything you want.

Using Hong Kong S10+ in UK - Samsung Pay (Watch not working)

I have a HK Variant S10 plus which is working just fine in the UK. Even the HK samsung pay works well on the phone.
However, I cant get samsung pay on my Samsung Gear S3 Smartwatch.
I assume that because I have a UK watch and the HK Phone, that I cannot download the Samsung Pay Watch Plugin via the phone.
Can anyone suggest a way to get round this? Really would like to use Pay on the watch.
Thanks!
****EDIT**** This is resolved.
Opening up Samsung pay from the Samsung wearable app forces the correct update on both the phone and the watch and allows Pay to work on the watch.
