The speakers of my Moto X Force (XT 1580) gone totally silent yesterday. No notification or alarm or media sound works. But when I plug my headphone on it's jack, it surprisingly works. All the alarm and notification sounds relives (but the media, obviously, goes through the headphone). I actually don't know what's happening. Didn't find any topic on any forum that solves it. Maybe it's a mixer_paths.xml problem cause I tried to edit it yesterday, but I had it on backup.
Does anyone know how to solve it or can share the stock mixer_paths.xml with me?

Hi there,
I am having some issue with my O2 Atom Exec external speaker.
When the phone rings:
- I can't hear the ring tone (phone and pda volume settings turned up to high)
When I pick up:
- microphone does not work
- phone speaker does not work
Actually microphone seems to no longer work same with external speaker. I try to play music and no sound comes out externally. When I use the combined stereo headphones and microphone, these work fine. I have tried a hard reset and looking into the Windows registry for some obscure volume settings but this did not resolve the problem.
Anyone else experiencing a similar issue? Please help,
Hi,
You have a problem with the headphone socket. what I would suggest is play a file in media player and put the headphone plug in halfway and gently move it around left to right. You will know when it's fixed because the sound will start coming out of the speakers. This is a known fault that has been around a long time.
Cheers.

Today I faced this problem, I tried to do everything.
Then I did exactly what you said, and this procedure
fixed my speakers. Thank you ,very very much for help.
We can see this thread below, talking about this problem.

Hi,
I have an annoying little problem with my htc touch2: when i plug my headphones and try to listen music or talk with somebody (or any action that requires sounds) the sound can be heard on the headphones and on the phone speaker at the same time. I did a hard reset and the problem was solved, but after 2-3 days the bug reappeared. I checked some forums and none seems to know how to fix this.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
Have you tried BT Audio? I think you can find the program here in the fórum.
Hmm you can just update to new rom. Most problems are rom based.
All of a sudden, there's no sound coming from my speakers. My headphones work fine. The first time it happened, I found a solution that had to do with turning on the Bluetooth and then something else but now I can't find it anywhere.
Is anybody familiar with that fix?
I've just noticed that while I've got headphones plugged in, listening to music, my notification sounds are still going through the speaker so everyone else can hear them but me. I looked in settings but don't see anything that would affect this. Does anybody else know how to make the notifications come through the headphones too?
Thanks,
Chris
If I connect S8 to wired earbuds, I can hear the notification sound( music volume not reduced) but not that clear as the notification sound is mixed with music. This gets worse if S8 is connected to a Bluetooth headphone--I can barely hear the notification sound( sometimes notification sound is not played at all, I don't know why). I switched from iPhone 7 and found this pretty annoying. I missed a lot of notifications while listening to music over Bluetooth. Anyone know how to reduce the music volume on notification? I looked through all the settings and didn't find anything useful.
Thanks for any useful information!
I'm actually looking for this very thing. For me, no matter what sound device I use, wired, wireless, etc., audio ducking is way too annoying for notifications I'm not necessarily interested in immediately (e.g. Facebook group updates from groups I rarely visit).
Im bumping this up
I have a s8+ duos with similar problem. But only with Bose qc35.
If music is playing and connected with Bluetooth, no notification sound is heard. Music is only slightly reduced in dB for a second or two then back to normal.
With cable /wired, the notification is heard loud and clear.
This happened two weeks ago and was working great until then. Reset doesn't work. Have no clue about.
Same here
Has anyone found a solution to this problem?
I found a solution. For me at least.
Connect Bluetooth headphones
Reduce media volume to very low.
Keep notification sound at 25-30%.
Now increase volume on your headphones - if you can.
Try send a message to yourself or similar just to let you hear if the notification sound is heard or not.
.....
I also enabled dualsound and turned it off at the same time so Im not sure which of these settings that were the solution.
Try both.
It seems my bose qc 35 have different sound presets depending on which device its connected to since my sony phone didn't have this issue. Doesn't matter even if the bose where reset, downgraded or removed device list.
And this issue was only on a dualsim. Tested against several s8 and regular s8+. Very strange.
