Hi,
Everytime I try to transfer big files from my laptop larger than appx 1.1 gb to my P9 lite VNS-L31, there is an i/o error or the transmission stalls/fails.
Tried different usb-cables and usb-ports. I need to use fastboot to flash a large img-file. Is there any way to flash from external SD-card instead? I would move the file from the machine to the phone via a card-reader.
Best regards....
It will only send 1.71 gb then it stalls both on laptop and recovery. I have to reboot recovery.
Hope someone has a tip. Just installed HiSuite for newest usb drivers.

I had updated my Hero to software version 2.27.651.6 and started having some problems. The dialer seemed to be slower than usual, sometimes having problems with the on-screen keyboard, and then I could no longer connect my phone to the PC via USB.
Regardless of settings on my hero (Charge only, HTC Sync, Disk Drive, Internet Sharing) all my phone will do is charge when plugged into the PC. I've tried multiple PCs (with different OS) and different cables and have run out of ideas....
I've tried factory reset to no avail.
Is there any way to flash a new ROM via recovery mode with the update.zip?
maybe with a microsd card reader to copy files to the card from the pc. thats about it
just go on ur phone to the xda site find the rom dl it and use linda file manager to move it from ur downloads folder to the root of ur sd card then boot into recovery and there u go
At a party last night my friend asked me to overclock his phone, being stupid I tried to and now the phone is stuck at the vibrant screen. Since I was first to unroot his phone, he has no other zips on the internal sd except the kernel. I can access recovery and download mode fine but even nandroiding wont help because that doesnt change the kernel. Is there any way to load a zip file for a different kernel or am i stuck using odin? Just didnt want to because it will erase all his stuff. Thanks
First Odin wont delete all of his stuff. Only applications, settings etc...
Second if you are doing ANY kind of modding, it is essential to know how and to actually use Odin. That way in cases like this a restoral will be no big deal. Check out the Vibrant bible in Android Dev. section, i have a Odin video tutorial that will show you how to use it.
Here is a flashable stock ji6 kernal. Just need to get it to internal sd. Hopefully you have clockwork recovery and are able to push it with adb.
If you use odin back to stock. Do you still need to flash the stock kernel when using other kernel?

i do but i have no clue how to use adb, ill see if i can figure it out though
Just use ODIN and flash JI6. His files will still be there and it also includes the JI6 Kernel. I don't know what Kernel you tried to put on but make sure you use the back support version of any of them for a JI6 rom. And finally, make sure you know what you are doing before messing with someone else's phone. Messing up your phone is fine, messing up someone else's is another story.
Moral of the story: Odin to JI6. No pit file needed and all his apps and settings will remain. Done it many times.
Edit: If you still want to overclock it, try Team Whiskey's new Core Kernel. It automatically overclocks to 1.2 without the use of SetCPU. And it already supports JI6 so it will not brick the phone.
URGENT! My phone won´t start!
Hi,
More or less the same thing happend to me. I have flashed my phone with the Core v2 Kernel ([KERNEL]Project Core v2 - Team Whiskey Production - 11/06/10 - xda-developers) and now it won´t start. I reboot it and it just stays stuck with the Vibrant logo on start up. I left it like this for about 40 minutes and nothing happens.
Can someone help???
cheers
Rafa
P.S I´m having trouble with the recovery mode as everytime I start to phone in recovery mode and select "reinstall packages" it tells me "Can't open sd/update.zip (such file doesn't exist)". Here is what I've tried so far:
- Plug the phone on the pc via usb. I then see the phone as a hard drive and when I open it it displays 2 drives, one is the phone and the other is the SD card (called simply SD). I copied the update.zip file and placed it directly into the SD drive.
- With a micro usb to usb adapter card I copied the update.zip file to the sd card.
- I removed the zip extension from the update.zip file (I tried doing this on the pc and directly on the phone via astro file manager).
- I´ve created an SD folder on the SD drive and placed the update.zip file there.
- I´ve created an SDCARD folder on the SD drive and placed the update.zip file there.
- I´ve tried renaming the SD drive to SDcard (the system wouldn't let me).
This issue cannot be this difficult to resolved. I really want to install I new rom on my phone and it's very frustrating not being able to resolve such a silly thing. Can anyone help?
cheers

from my knowledge and experiences you have to put the update.zip file in your internal memory and not the SD card...
from the sounds of it, you guys loaded either a 2.1 kernel to a 2.2 rom, or vice versa. a 2.2 kernel to a 2.1 rom. all this = instand soft brick.
if you can boot to clockwork, then you dont need to ODIN.
adb push location_to_new_Kernel.zip /sdcard/
then flash the new kernel like normal.
Read a lot about Odin and fixed it. Thanks.
Now lets see about installing the rom...

After flashing stock ICS, I can't create a new folder nor save file on flash disk using usb dongle.
I have tried changing flashdisk and also changing usb dongle but the same problem still occured.
Anyone could help?
Thanks anyway
I have the same problem. First I thought that my flash disk was damaged because it went into the washing machine along my jeans, but the problem persisted on a new one. Still I can copy from the disk to the tab, or open a file from the disk directly.

Solved.
Reflashing with different stock firmware. First back to GB then flash ICS again.
hi guys I accidentally wiped data from twrp while flashing diamond rom, now my device wont (clearly boot) and i cannot push any file in the internal storage of the phone via usb, how can i install any kind of rom now?should i use odin or adb sideload?
Remove sd card
Download rom and copy to sd card
Then put card in phone and install
If u need other recovery to flash or baseband
Download and copy that too
Or download firmware from sammobile and flash with odin

if i connect the phone to pc via usb a try to drag and drop a rom to the sd card, it shows a popup that say i cannot copy the file because it is too big ( it clearly isnt, its a 32 gb sd), so i tried to put the rom in the sd via a usb sd reader device, but when i install the rom i get stuck at samsung logo
UPDATE: i installed Phil recovery , at the bottom of the main page of the recovery it say: E: could not mount /data to setup /data/media path!

Hello!
I'm trying to backup my phone before i wipe and flash latest Omega rom. But some problems..
I can copy one biiiig (3-4 gb) file from phone to PC in no time, but if i mark several folders, or a folder with like 50 small files in it (a total of ~50 mb) it just hangs on "calculating size" forever.
My setup:
PC - Windows 8.1, latest USB-drivers from Kies
Cable - Tried different ones, but right now the original USB 3.0 cable
Ports - Tried all ports on front and back of PC
Using Explorer to copy. What program do YOU use?
Note: It's the same when i try to restore to the phone..
Ideas?
Thanks
Update: tried with another PC (Windows 7), same problem there. =/
Try Teracopy.
http://codesector.com/teracopy
Thanks! But TeraCopy doesn't work with MTP.
I think the best way to solve this MTP-issue (as it seems to be) is to copy Internal card to a folder on the External card, and then copy the files from that extcard via a cardreader directly to the PC, and vice versa.
Alt 2: AirDroid
It's the MTP protocol. It's a nightmare. Sluggish, unstable, slow...
I always copy big files to and from the MicroSD with a cardreader (which is a hassle as I'm using an Otterbox) and then move it internally with ESfileExplorer. (On an older version of both the firmware and ES, so it still accepts MicroSD writing.)
