Looks ok.. Seriously Sony needs to trim those bezels at least by a bit
In the recent leaked photos it looked like it won't have a camera bump, but sadly it's still there. It doesn't seem as big as on XZs/Premium but still...
At least it's all metal this time arround, so that's a plus.
It will be about time to sell my XZ when this is released, I'll probably get it.
The way I see it it'll be a XZ Premium "compact" and without 4k, which is appealing for me, the Premium was way to big for me and the XZs made no sense as an upgrade from XZ, so...
In some photos it does look thicker than XZs/Premium, I hope they managed to fit it with bigger battery as well.

My problem with them is that they have Huge bezels but not bigger batteries ? .. i mean WTF when Sammy n LG can make their phones compact and put the same size battery ... then Either Sony shrink their bezels or give us a bigger battery ....
Imagine XZ with 3300mAH or 3500mAH .... this is totally possible ... I wonder what's eating the space inside the XZ while other manufac can easily fir evertything in a much compact ver

Hi everyone,
I was wondering if the device body is actually even thinner than 11mm. Why? Because the size is usually measured by the thickest part of the device, which in this case is the popping out camera. Think I already mentioned that somewhere...or maybe in another forum, never mind.
You can clearly see on the "Specification" part at the HTC website (picture of side of device) that the camera is the popping out. Just zoom in the picture.
What I just saw and what strenghtens my thought: The website includes the camera in the 11mm! So the "body" could be 10mm or even less.
Here is a zoomed in picture of what I mean. It's from HTC's website, I just added the red line. What do you think?
I'm also wondering why nobody actualy measured the size in any of those previews...

As mentioned somewhere else......it´s not so much the size, that matters....it´s the performance......
It's a lean mean ppc machine

(Yeah, saw that ^^)
Yeah, with emphasis on "so much" ^^
If that device was 18mm thick nobody would've be that much interested. Even with 14mm it would still be unattractive because of its total size.
And even now, people are wondering if the device isn't too big for them. Making it even thinner could resolve those manners.
And maybe there are more people like me who try to imagine what it could feel like to hold that device in the hand, maybe also with building a paper model of it ^^ So 1-2mm thinner device feels a lot more comfortable =)
AND almost every preview compares the thickness, so it IS somehow important. ^^
Agree with Kabakara,
I already built a model from paper
gotta love the thin slim look... I wouldn't have gone HD2 if it was 14mm or thicker..
Take a look at this youtube test Video youtube.com/watch?v=BYnTR-BGNHU[/url]
I for 1 am lucky i went 4 my x10 can always get the new updates and a gr8 camare
X10 is so much better
sharper, more vibrant
Better fone all 2gether
Yes video playback and picture quality is definetly better, but I feel overall Desire does seem to function better and with less bugs.
X10 looks better, screen size to my liking but too many bugs. Potential to be a cracking device but not quite there yet, where as Desire works better out of the box.
Hmm, curious how you have the same traffic passing at the same time in both those videos.... ;-)
It could be two persons, each with one phone ? If you look at the angle's and positions you can see that its not the exact same video...
itz the same person holding 2 phone in 2 hands...........
HAHAHAHAHAH...... thought that was obvious.. apparently not!... Yeah.. X10 camera rules..
My wife has X10, i myself have a desire.
They could at least have cleared the lense on the Desire, and maybe tweaked the settings at bit... ;-)
Alltogehther, X10 has at better camera, but the films we have made havent made that profound difference.
Biggest downside using the deisres videocam is the awful sound- its really crap.

Wow
im in love,,, i WANT IT, I NEED IT!!!
*****, MONEY, NEXUS S
is gonna be my life style now..
Wow. All I can say. I hope this is good...
Front facing camera, nice
I hope there are some capacitative buttons at the bottom, love those on my N1.
Hmmmm....Back cover seems to be plastic like the Galaxy S. So build quality is **** compared to the N1/Desire. Hope it has a few surprises to make up for that.
hmm, looks cheap vs. N1, too glossy and plastic imo
Nexus One looks better.
Spec wise this is better though.
Finally something we can wait for My next phone for sure
Looks cheap n nasty
too much plastic

Most likely Vibrant with Gingerbread and flash?
I will NOT be getting this. I am absolutely disappointed that the next nexus is a effin samsung. I just hope htc will release another true nexus in the future. Until then ill stick with the n1 which looks better than that POS
I'm in the market for a new phone (n1 has a broken screen)... this is tempting for sure. Waiting to hear more about specs and if we are going to see one on AT&T bands..
Am I right in thinking that the Tmobile US bands are the same as a majoritory of the UK bands?
HTC probably said : lol we're not dealing with more unlocked bootloader replacements.
Superamoled + better multitouch isnt enough for me to give up my N1. Solid build and design trump both of those features for me.
have you guys seen the new META watch?
looks pretty cool

As one of the XDA reviewers and long time users of both STRATA and FRAME, I'm drooling over this
The Verge just did a write up as well: http://www.theverge.com/2014/1/6/5277128/metawatch-meta-premium-smartwatch-brand
Coincidentally, Pebble going to introduce Pebble Steel which is the same as regular one but with a metal frame/bracelet, but it's nowhere near as elegant as this one. Sorry, but I think it was brilliant how they incorporated 4 corner buttons as part of the bracelet buckle (obviously Frank Nuovo design). Also, fantastic move to switch to epaper display.
Can't wait to test it out!!!
yeah really like the new steel pebble, the matte black with leather strap looks really nice
still, wish HOT Watch would be getting here sooner, really want to try the private calling function, if it's not to my liking i'm interested in something else
Btw, I haven't seen anybody confirm those hinges are secured by 4 corner buttons. I'm just assuming they are keeping functionality unchanged since the original MW has 6 buttons and going down to 2 would be too much of a change. I'm also curious if it's going to be waterproof like FRAME and if they're going to use a similar charging clip or something else, maybe magnetically attached one? As soon as I find out more details, hopefully after CES, I will post it in here.
I am more excited if there are much faster development on the Android software front!
I like the new hardware of course but at the moment pebble steel wins overall due to the solid development work on both official and unofficial software.
Still praying hard for my metawatch frame to be revived with this new announcement!

I bought a OnePlus One a few months ago and temporarily switched over from my Z2, and just ended up switching back to the Z2 a few days ago. Even though the OnePlus and Cyanogen are a great pairing, the camera quality on the OPO (even if it is using Sony camera hardware) isn't as good as the Z2, and it's faced with the same WiFi and buggy touchscreen issues and random reboots that a lot of Cyanogen builds have. I also have a Sony DSC-QX10 and a Moto 360, and it just never can maintain a strong connection with those devices and will sporadically drop/reconnect when using them. Also, the "Sandstone" backing on the OPO also starts to wear off after a while, and dust seems to build up in the weirdest places along the edges of the phone after being in your pocket for a bit.
It's a great phone for the price, nonetheless, but I just can't see fully replacing an Xperia with a OnePlus at this point...

I believe you are right...
I really thought to buy opo, not to abandon Xperias for good but to wait for Z4 on something different...
Even I was satisfied with Z2 fw...
But then Sony released 167 fw and all my doubts have gone...
You are the fifth one who said opo isn't that good as advertised and what bunch of users said when it was launched...
Tnx for all informations, this was very helpful ?
I flashed Android 5.0 today, in my Nexus 7 and, even it's not official, it's very, very good.
ART is interesting as well, just like whole dev tree...
I can't wait to see what will Sony do on 5.0 UI.
Another great option is to invert framework color, so you can have dark, or better to say black UI in a second, with a one pressed button...
Yes, this is kinda off topic but I just wanted to share few lines and didn't want to spam section with unnecessary thread...
