Can anyone explain if and how I can force the LG G6 to only operate on 4G/LTE ? Does it need to be rooted to achieve this. Thanks

Hi all i have a noob question!

How do you check or know which version your X1 is? and is there like a number that you can dial to see which band you are on??

Click to collapse
Start --> Settings --> System --> Device Information
Then, in Identity you can see the model-nr. (X1i for me)
and is there like a number that you can dial to see which band you are on??
Click to collapse
Start --> Settings --> Phone --> Band
There you can set the frequency band so you can try with which settings you get HSDPA.

[APP][2009-04-06] Toggle3G - tool to toggle between 3G/GPRS mode

Hi,
another little tool by me. This time it is to toggle between 3G and GPRS. Basically it does the same as if you click on the 3G button in the CommManager.
The main usage would be in scripts or through a shortcut as it has no GUI and toggles it quite fast.
History:
v1.0
initial release
Will this toggle between Auto and GSM modes or we can choose WCDMA (3G) only, too?
command line?
Hi
Thanks for this application. Good idea. I'll test it out.
Does this support command line functions, such as switching from "Auto" in the band page to "GSM" or "WCDMA"? If not, can this be implemented?
Many thanks

I only tested it on my GSM device. So I can't say if it will work for CDMA devices.

There are no commandline parameters yet.
dosent work on samsung omnia it will be nice app when it will work
Doesn't work on my 614c, either. Too bad, looks like a neat app.
this has been done already by bandswitch and commmgrpro, commmgrpro above no other is king in this category

Those apps are fine, but they do much more than what this does and have UIs, which are unnecessary if you just want something to use in ThrottleLauncher or UltimateLaunch. I think this is a great tool - I just wish it worked for a non-HTC phone.
Nice little app. Very useful to launch from Programs in TF3D...

WCDMA is 3G, not CDMA... Stupid name but whatever...
This will be a great tool for use in scripts. Problem with toggling, tho, is that in order to get what you want, you have to know the current state. I would really appreciate some basic CL parms like -3Gon and -3Goff
I would like to use your application to change the status of the 3G connection through a button that run the program, and I would like the icon button changes depending on the state of the 3G connection.
Place where the register is saved the state of the 3G connection?
Sorry for my english.
Very nice program. Does exactly what it should.
But it has no icon yet. Will there be one in the future?
Indeed, an icon would be nice.
For CDMA users:

Fail on Tilt 2
I tried this on my Tilt 2 and it seems to only change the toggle in the commmanager, but it doesn't seem to change my actual connection.
Hi MarcLandis,
thank you for sharing this with us so we can test it. So please read my...
Report:
i have tested toggle 3g on my phone (signature). What i have seen is that in the taskbar the icon is changing from 3g to flight mode and back when i use the exe again.
But when i use the hardware phone button i can take normal phone calls without the code popup and the icon is changing from flight mode to 3g. When i close the phone app the deafault 3g icon stays allways.
So i think it is not working on my HD2.

[Q] Droid 2 Global Dev Request: Can the 850/1900 MHz GSM/UMTS bands be enabled?

I picked up a Droid 2 Global last week and it appears that Verizon has crippled the GSM/UMTS capability of the device by restricting use of the 850/1900 MHz GSM/UMTS bands in the US.
The tech specs from Motorola indicate that the D2G is quadband GSM (850/900/1800/1900) and triband UMTS (850/1900/2100).
...but the User Guide (page 12) and Motorola FAQ page say "DROID2 Global by Motorola switches effortlessly between CDMA, GSM 900, GSM 1800, and UMTS 2100 networks" which would seem to indicate that use of the 850/1900 MHz GSM/UMTS bands has been restricted.
This is supported by the fact that several people on various forums have attempted to use the D2G on AT&T and T-Mobile networks (which use 850/1900) with no success. I'm assuming it is some sort of software restriction, either via a hidden menu setting or because of the Verizon ROM.
Any devs know how we might be able to enable these bands?
Try checking this:
- Pull up the dialer
- *#*#4636#*#*
- It will automatically bring up the "testing" menu when you hit the last *.
- Click on phone information and scroll to the bottom.
- The first item that can be changed is a drop down list "Set preferred network type:"
See if there are any options in there that you can change to what you're looking for

The only thing I don't recognize is "SMSC:", which has a text box with an Update and a Refresh button. Not sure what that does.
However, there is also a greyed-out "OEM-specific Info/Settings" button, wonder what might be there!
Verizons not gonna make this easy on us, where really gonna hve to think out of the box on this one. We can just wate for a Droid 2 Global spacific rom and hope that its a software lock.

SMSC for my opeartor shows SMS center phone number when you press to refresh.
Obviously, if you set here another phone number and press update it should apply new value to phone.

[Q] Has anyone tried this method

I read this on droidviews but didn't know if anyone here had tried it/knew of it?
Open your phone’s dial pad and type the following code: 3845#*<model number>#. For example, type-
3845#*800# (for At&T model)
3845#*801# (for T-Mobile variants)
3845#*802# (for European variants)
3845#*803# (for AT&T and Canadian variants)
Doing this open the service menu of your phone. Scroll down to High temperature property settings and change the default value to ON.
Now turn off your phone. Wait for about 15-20 seconds and then turn it on again.
When your LG G2 boots up, you should experience smoother UI on it. Moreover, it will also solve the lag issue in the camera app. Enjoy!
I have not tried it, but didn't know if someone smarter than me had fooled around here.

Sorry about that. I don't even know what this method would be called/steps to be taken.

Lock screen - Dual clock removal

Anybody know how to remove the dual clock from the Lock Screen, all the past guides don't seem to work.
Cheers.
recently updated my F800L to android Pie OTA and now the quick shortcut maker app won't work , running Roaming Clock Settings goves this message " You can not launch this activity from app because it requires additional permissions to launch" it used to run fine on previous versions of android. How do I achieve required permissions to run this activity? any idea?
Yes. You can download a program called QuickShortcutMaker from the play store. Open the program and change it to normal search. Select the "activities" area. Search for "roaming" and expand the category. You will want to click on the one that says "Roaming clock settings" and click create. Once done open the shortcut and uncheck "Use roaming dual-clock"

Awesome! Thanks a lot.
Hi,
I have the Korean version F800S and for me QuickShortcutMaker doesn't work. The dual screen is still there even if the roaming clock tick is unchecked. Any alternatives?
Ah sorry for the late reply, I downloaded LG dual clock remover from the store, it comes up device unsupported but ignore this choose 'uncheck both' and you'll be presented with the menu anyway. Works a treat.
Tried this in vain. No luck. I think is related to my Korean version.
On my Korean version F800K I have used this and it works!

I have the F800S and is not working. Not sure if it's related but my phone keeps saying that I'm roaming even if I have a UK sim card. I'm based in UK. Will try to do a factory reset.
Hi,
I too have the same model (F800S) and I am also in the same boat. Despite multiple attempts, restarts, it still doesn't work. Looks like SK telecom have a hard coded setting deep inside there. I installed Secret Master Lite and there are indeed some menu options that are tinkered by the carrier, which can only be changed with the root (su) access. I have not yet rooted by phone and I am now contemplating it. I am kind of a newbie and don't want to end up with an expensive paper weight. Hence, not even attempting to root for now.

Yes, the SK telecom F800S model is highly customized for Korean market. I think we're kind of stuck until a reasonably safe root method comes up.
I have the Korean Telecom (F800K) version and 'dual clock remover' worked fine for me.
Hi
Any help from any Pros is highly appreciated, specifically for F800S.

How do you enable dual clock? Is this feature only on the Korean version v20?

On my F800S it was enabled by default. I guess it knows that you're not in Korea and it defaults to some roaming setting. Quite annoying.
I've tried everything and no luck.
Great. Thanks so much
Looks like it's a worse situation than with the H990ds Taiwan variant.
Any updates?
I have Korean version F800S too. I've tried every methods available and it didn't work.
Some1 please help us... F800S dual clock removal... TIA
Remove dual lockscreen on lg v20 f800s
Download QuickShortcutMaker
Search under ACTIVITIES the keyword "KT"
Click open 'Roaming' and then click on 'Roaming KT Roaming Test'
Create shortcut and open the shortcut
Check 'RAD TEST'
Turn off WiFi while keeping Data on, check the mobile signal strength icon now appears with a letter 'R'
Go Settings - Date & Time
The originally grey-out 'Roaming dual clock' item now becomes black and clickable.
Click to Disable the roaming dual clock.
Uncheck 'RAD TEST'
Turn on the Airplane mode, then off again to remove the 'R' status.
Now the phone works like before with the lockscreen showing only one clock.
Ive tried and it's working
