not necessary to update to the original reteu 4th file.
soak 3 is not actually a soak. soak3rd file is the officlal final build

If you installed the first file when it was posted (Blur_Version.26.1.22.addison.retail.en.US), you only need to install the second and third files to bring your phone to the public build of 7.1.1.
carloandreaguilar is right, the third file isn't actually a soak test.
Will work from adb sideload TWRP?
Thanks

Someone could help me? What can I do now?

Wow!
After a few minute I tried to turn on again and now it's working...
---------- Edit to add ----------
Because of tiredness I made a basic mistake. You need to reboot your phone normally after each sideload adb command. Without this, there will be errors like the one I tried and will not let update.
So, it's worth remembering: with each updated zip .. restart your phone normally ... wait to finalize that update and do it all again for the next zip ...
Tks

Yep, you can use it but make a backup from your personal files (videos, pictures, music, etc.) because it'll wipe your data and internal storage.
Do you have UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip on it's own? I have installed GPE_5.1_XT1032_LMY47M.M001_CFC.xml.zip and TWRP as well seperatly but just need to root it. So just need that file not complete ROM

error in rom batch file, it's pointing to windows\system32 and failing
also read should use mfastboot not fastboot?
also your mfastboot flash recovery twrp-2.8.6.0-falcon.img is non GPE version when I flash with yours I get vsync like tearing. Flash to twrp-2.8.6.0-falcon_GPE.img and stable screen
Superuser works
Will I have any problem if after flashing this I'll try to flash the stock motorola 5.1 fw when it wii be out?
Hello,
Thanks for taking your time to create this.
I have already updated my moto G 1032 to lollipop 5.1 using a method as shown in the attachment.
Do i need to do the entire process again?
Maybe it's a stupid question but, will this work for the xt1034 version?
To be more specific and avoid future questions like this, does every rom for the xt1032 work for xt1034?
Thank you

Noone can know that when there is no Moto 5.1 firmware yet.

Flash_GPE_5.1.bat errors
I'm on Motorola stock 5.02 firmware and I'm getting errors when running Flash_GPE_5.1.bat process. It seems I'm getting error for the following command line:-
fastboot.exe flash partition gpt.bin
fastboot.exe erase cache
fastboot.exe oem fb_mode_clear
Are these errors critical or can I just ignore them.
Factory Reset?
Hi, I'm currently on 5.1 GPe with 41.19 stock Bootloader, no Root, just unlocked BL . I followed a Youtube video and everything runs great BUT.. i can't do factory reset on the device (must be done via fastboot).
Is it possible to Factory Reset with your guide/rom?, if yes... Can I reinstall your ROM over the one I currently have?
Thanks in advance mate. Great Job.

This is considered a beta rom. Things may break, things may change, and your phone may brick or turn into a portable toaster. I'm not responsible.
You are flashing this at your own risk!!!
This is a nandroid backed up from a US 2gb/16gb xt1540. It may or may not work on all models...that is to be determined.
Confirmed compatible variants:
XT1540 (US 1/8GB and 2/16GB) (Canada)
XT1541 (UK) (France)
(if your variant is not here it only means it's either not tested or not reported working. please test and report back!)
If you are unable to boot or obtain any signals after flashing this, it is highly recommended you flash a full factory image intended for your specific model and wait for another solution.
This is only meant to be a temporary fix while we wait for the big guys to build us a standard rom.
PLEASE READ THE GUIDE BELOW!!! Some things have changed with v3
How to install:
Extract the .tar.gz archive like any zip
copy the folder to the directory where your other TWRP nandroids are on your internal storage or sd card (TWRP/BACKUPS/ZZY222____/) in here you will see folders with dates, times, rom names and info, etc in the folder names...copy the folder you extracted to this directory.
boot to TWRP
restore this backup
if coming from anything but a previous soak test, wipe userdata
wipe cache and dalvik cache
flash systemless root zip SuperSU v2.61 (optional) DO NOT flash any lower SuperSU version!!
reboot (Please be patient...it's a VERY long wait. If you pass 10 minutes waiting and it hasn't booted, force a reboot by holding the power button)
profit!
***It is HIGHLY recommended US xt1540 users update their radio. It is not required to run this soak test, though. THIS IS ONLY FOR US USERS!!!!! DO NOT FLASH THIS IF YOU ARE NOT IN THE UNITED STATES!!!!***
See this post for the updated soak test modem.img files (just flash to the modem partition with fastboot and reboot the device)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/201...-devs-moto-g3-xt1540-soak-test-files-t3255643
For anyone who is not in the contiguous USA (48 states) but still has xt1540 and would like to test the modem above, you can use the app linked below to back up your modem partition directly from your device before you try the new modem. This way you don't have to download a factory rom to get the right modem.img if you don't already have one backed up on your computer. You have to be rooted to use it.
Wanam Backup & Restore app (free)
How to root:
Please see this thread for the download:
http://www.xda-developers.com/update-to-snapprefs-xposed-module-includes-17-instagram-like-filters
The newest root method provided by chainfire does not touch the system partition. To the end-user, the only change is that when you flash a new kernel you must re-flash superSU....not your rom!!! What this means to us in this case is we can use the stock kernel provided with the soak test, flash the superSU zip, and have root, just like a Nexus device without having to wait for a permissive kernel!
*****After flashing the new systemless root zip you will be prompted to install superSU before the device reboots. DO NOT ALLOW IT TO INSTALL!!!!!! If you allow it to install with this option you will get a bootloop*****
**To view your device storage from your computer, open your notification shade, click the "USB for _____" notification, and select "transfer files (MTP)". It won't stick through a reboot, so you'll have to do this each time you boot.....the same thing goes if you unplug the cable.

Apparently it was just an issue with 7-zip, WinRAR handled it perfectly.
This is my first time making a flashable ROM but it should be up later today.
This will restore your Indian variant Honor 7x back to stock, in case you have rooted or flashed TWRP before. After this you can get OTA updates and they will flash fine. If you want to manually flash OTA updates, you can continue to next video after watching this
I suggest you to watch it carefully and do same as I did to prevent any damages.

All the post I see about manually flashing Oreo say you CAN NOT return to emui 5. So I would believe no
**EDIT**
I see now on firmware finder there are roll-back to emui 5.1 full-ota packages.
right now only for
BND-AL00
BND-AL10
BND-TL10
but perhaps after flashing that full ota to get partition table back , then follow this method from here to get correct regional specific parts back.
All still untested at this point
Suppose if I install Other rom first like AOSP or RR?

Your other post show you are on Oreo. This method, files linked are Android nougat.
You need to replace twrp with stock recovery, then wipe cache from there. This should fix your bootloop ,caused by wipeimg cache in twrp. Unless there is more to the story than you tell.

1)I am on BND AL10 Oreo.
2)Unlocked the bootloader & rooted device.

Well it twrp is not staying on, then fastboot will have to be the method to recover
Hope this will work
fastboot format cache
fastboot format userdata
If those not work, or not allowed try
fastboot -w

the downgrade is tricky , if not done with full downgrade files. It is pretty much a half full update, then restore a backup. There are many things that could cause trouble with this.
Did you try to factory reset after failed OTA?

I've just captured the Official OPP28.85-16 OTA for retail cedric and I'm posting it here. I'm on retbr channel but this will work on any retail device. If you're on another updated channel, I don't know what would happen if you installed this.
Notice that to install this YOU MUST be on NPPS25.137-93-2-5 to install these, since OTA's are not full firmwares like fastboot files, but instead they're patchings tailored to be applied upon a specific firmare - NPPS25.137-93-2-5 in this case.
Another particular detail is that the OTA file (gotten directly from my credric) lists the Blur Version as Blur_Version.25.361.10.cedric.retail.en.US, but curiously, the fastboot version for the same firmware ( which you can download here) lists it as Blur_Version.28.41.15.cedric.retail.en.US
Someone also reported in another thread that they just sideloaded this upon the Second Soak test. I wouldn't doubt it since this is what should happen to regular soak testers, but if you do it, DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK
I also won't post instructions on how to install this since they're already available here

That's it.
changelog?
Has anyone already tried it?
Since this is a (Delta) OTA Update that expects NPPS25.137-93-2-5 (Blur_Version.25.361.10) it should be correctly named "block_delta-ota-Blur_Version.25.361.10-28.41.15.cedric.retail.en.US" in my view.
Someone also reported in another thread that they just sideloaded this upon the Second Soak test.

I'm on the 2nd soak test update OPP28.85-13.
Just tried to flash the update from SD card and ADB sideload.
Update failed due to wrong version.
E3002: Package expects build thumbprint of 8.1.0/OPP28.85-16/0400:user/release-keys or 7.0/NPPS25.137-93-2-5/10:user/release-keys; this device has 8.1.0/OPP28.85-13/789a:user/release-keys.

Update fails from OPP28.85-13 since it expects either OPP28.85-16 which is the latest Oreo build (that I want to update to) or the latest Nougat NPPS25.137-93-2-5.
There is no OPP25. 85-16 build! I think you misread the error message.
BTW I updated from OPP28.85-13 to -16 using the full fastboot version and it worked out perfectly.

yeah, I actually misread it, now I see it.
Anyways, flashing it from fastboot doesn't prove anything. but seems like Cedric can be upgraded from the soak test to final version using this ota. Idk because I used fastboot myself too, since I had already modified my system partition.

Speaker
Hi,
i would say that for my ears the speaker sounds better than it was with Nougat.
After a few days of testing everything works really good and i have not found anything not working or any problems.

how do you get back to NPPS25.137-93-2-5
I followed the steps from this Thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/g5/development/stock-upgrade-to-official-stock-oreo-8-t3823598
- Unlocked bootloader (don't know of this is necessary)
- back to NPPS25.137-93-2-5 via the commands from the thread i linked (without the lines:
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
)
- via ADB sideload with the Oreo download from this thread to Oreo.

to flash official Motorola files there's no need to unlock the bootloader.
you've just unnecessarily voided your warranty
@freeZbies
Hey is that twrp stock rom (137-93-2-5) the only thing we need to flash before going for the ota ? Cause I've been told that we needed to be on a completely unmodified system partition in order to receive the ota. In that case just flashing twrp stock wouldn't be sufficient right?

I dont know if the twrp version would be valid. To apply an OTA, your system must matchbit by bit, so the most guaranteed way is to flash that firmware via fastboot, but you could try flashing the twrp version, and in case it works, you could post the results here.
just dont forget that if the ota fails youll soft brick ur phonr and will only be able to recover it via fastboot

Thanks I'll keep that in mind
Being soft bricked,, wouldn't I be able to use twrp still? Like to flash a valid rom or one of my backups?
Anyways I can't really try it that way since the update hasn't come to me yet I'm on software channel Retca.
Edit : right I forgot that I could just use the official ota available here if I would like to test it.

being soft bricked doesnt necessarily mean you can recover it through twrp. OTA's are different of twrp flashables in that it modifies things beyond system partition. I've seen reports from people with other motorola devices who applied an OTA while having a modified system partition, and even though they were able to boot to twrp, flashing a custom Rom or restore a backup wouldn't make the phone boot. Their phones weren't hard bricked, but still they had to fastboot to recover their phones. Anyways, why don't you flash the Twrp flashable if, it's already available (considering you have an unlocked bootloader).
I'm case you have a locked bootloader you may fastboot without executing "fastboot erase userdata" in case you want to try. I did it without losing my data (although I was already in Opp 28.85-16)
but after all I really advice you to flash the twrp zip if u can
Mi a2 december update available
Weighs around 227 mb
I think that speaker bug will be solved
can confirm. received it as well. Hope some major issues are resolved here. It does not mention december update the in changelog.
Confirm! from thailand.
Dec update
I am trying to update through ota and it says installation problemcan anyone plz give me a solution for that.plz
After the update i can confirm that volume through the earphones definitely seems louder, similar to what it was in Oreo.
Recieved also on Pi9. Another garbage patch. No more than a blinking Android One screen resulting a non-booting phone. Piece of s..t!
Confirm from India. Really happy with the updates on this device.
can anyone put the boot.img file as i lost my root while updating due installation error at the first time of the update installation.

Yes, you need to follow the instrucctions in this post https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a2/how-to/ota-v9-6-5-0-odimife-t3823445
Bassicaly you need to download the OTA https://android.googleapis.com/pack.../0ec115a98a2d790e57b1ee60c217b5c0029ce091.zip, extract the zip and dump the payload.bin with payload_dumper
Then you need to flash the files with fastboot.
