Hey everyone, I recently learned that Phoenix Studio released another version of PhoenixOS and I only made rooted images for the v2.1.0. So, here are the latest images for you guys to use. I am no longer uploading a backup of system.img, but will still mirror the installation packages.
Instructions:
Download the correct correct system.img.7z file provided in the Download section and extract it
Install Phoenix OS.
Go to C:\Phoenix OS (or wherever your Phoenix OS installation is) and replace the system.img file with the one you just downloaded
Boot into Phoenix OS and finish the system initialization wizard.
Install the latest version of SuperSU by going to the Play Store and clicking the Update button.
-(Optional) If you for some reason cannot use the Play Store, you can find SuperSU on the official thread. Download the flashable zip, extract Superuser.apk from the common folder, and install it in Phoenix OS by opening the .apk file with the default file manager that comes with the OS. You don't have to do this step if SuperSU updated successfully in the Play Store.
Update the binary by choosing Normal and your Phoenix OS should now be fully rooted
Optional/Recommended:
Download Google Play Services v11.0.55 APK (Google Drive | APKMirror)
This will fix the "Google Play Services" can't be installed Error code: -501 message.

Thank you! The play store is included and works, but you cannot update the Google Play Services for some unknown reasons... I get an error code 501. None of the Phoenix OS versions work correctly so far, I think some update from Google broke the Google Play Services that was preloaded on Phoenix OS.
there is a way to make dualboot with this os?
thanks

Yes sir, you just install it and the installer script automatically sets up your windows OS as #1 and Phoenix OS as #2 in the grub.cfg boot options.
Hate to pester you, but have you tested to see if Google Plus works after updating Play Services? I'm still dead in the water if I can't get this working...

Hello. Thank you for contributing in Phoenix OS. I'm new to this OS. I have a question. I see every versions have both system image and installation file. If I installed Phoenix OS from official and replace it with your rooted system image. Will it run normal ?

Hi, thanks for your feedback. I hope these uploads are useful for people. So the idea behind these rooted system images is that you install Phoenix OS normally and then replace the system image with a rooted one. I've been using these since v2.0.6 without any problems. In fact rooted images helped me fix problems that were originally there like Google Play Services error code -501 and Google+ not being able to install. It's really hard to mess it up if you follow the instructions and in worst case scenario, you could just simply reinstall. Have a shot and let us know your results.

Hello there! Can someone help me out please?
I am using the ZTE Open European Standard and I am currently running Firefox OS 1.2 with CWM installed and I am wondering:
Since Firefox OS 1.3 was "released' recently will someone create a CWM installable build of Firefox OS 1.3 with the Firefox branding built to work on the ZTE Open please? I have looked around multiple times and I can't find a build anywhere that will work, and I do not have the knowledge required to compile my own.

I do yes, and I've already tried the build you posted in this forum and it was very good! I was just having problems with getting data working on it otherwise I'd be using it now. I'm looking for a stable-ish user build of Firefox OS 1.3 at the moment because I love the look of it, but ZTE haven't updated since 1.1... I've emailed them twice and both times they haven't got back to me after saying they would
How good would it be if Mozilla could just release an update to everyone like they do with the web browser

I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to ftp servers... how do I install one of these builds to my phone? I downloaded the linux zip file (Tar), extracted it, found boot.img userdata.img and system.img, I flashed them to my phone and I'm just in a boot loop, I'm gonna revert back to 1.2 for now. Thank you I really appreciate it, I've tried like 4 different Firefox OS 1.3 though now and none of them have worked, I hope someone makes one soon. I would myself if I understood how to use the Terminal on Linux.

You have to be on V1.0.0B02 to flash custom builds of FF OS 1.3
And one more question: Did your ZTE Open hangs sometimes like not able to touch anything, unable to unlock screen etc?
Thanks

Thank you! I tried flashing from 1.0.0B02 and it worked, however every single build I've tried of 1.3 (from multiple sources) is unstable... Hmm, I got a reply from ZTE by the way saying that people have to request for an update to their "service provider" (whatever that means). That's such a sucky way of dong things, they should try their best to update until they are unable to in my opinion.
No not really, sometimes it does on the lock screen after pressing the power button but only on 1.0.0B02.

Do a google search for Firefox OS 1.2 ZTE Open and click on the Mozilla Hacks website and flash the ZTE beta file, then you will have the default fastboot back on your phone. Then install the 1.1 ZIP update from ZTE... Then from the orange fastboot menu (ONLY AFTER INSTALLING 1.1) empty the cache and if your phone still hangs then do a drop test
Hello,
first of all, hey, I'm new to this community.
Second of all, I want to explain my situation here:
Oke so what's up, after updating Cyanogenmod from cm-12.1-20151226-NIGHTLY-jfltexx to any later nightlies it works well, well, when I don't have my google apps installen (OpenGapps pico). I tried multiple ways of installing, full reset, normal update, full reset and Gapps 5.0 and then update them, normal update and opengapps update.
My ROM does for some way not like Opengapps, my google services keep crashing after I installed them as soon as I start up my phone.
So my question is: "Do you guys know if this is a known bug/problem and/or do you know a problem fix for this?".
I hope I explained my problem well, if I did not just reply with what you need to know and I will better myself!
Kind regards, Joost (jiji32112)

Hey,
Pardon me for saying the wrong version but I used 5.1, afterwards I use 6.0 ofcourse.
So, anybody else has an idea of what is happening?
Kind regards, Joost (jiji32112)
Opengapps are updated daily. Some packages work and others don't. It's pretty much hit and miss.
Download another package from a different day. And If you find one that works, stick with it.
Alternatively, you could try A-gapps. It's even smaller than the pico gapps and it also has google play services battery optimization. Opengapps don't have it.

As GDreaper said: Opengapps is bugged. Sometimes it works, sometimes it won't.
Hi,
I installed Android Wear 2.0 beta apk from apkmirror, because my Huawei Watch told me on latest 2.0 dev preview, that it setup has to be continoued on smartphone, but my Android Wear 1.5 app told me, it has to update, even on latest update already installed..
So I downloaded the 2.0 beta apk and now this one can´t start, because it tells me:
"This phone has been flashed with an unsupported configuration for companion.
You must re-flash it as either signed/user or unsigned/userdebug."
I´m on latest cm14 build for OnePlus 3, but also found users, that get this error on official Android.
So whats to do, to get it working? Is it, because I´m not in beta-program for Android Wear APK, just use Dev Preview on my Watch?
If so, how can I participate to APK´s beta program?
EDIT: Finally found way to participate beta program, but app doesn´t work even now.. reinstalled already 3 times
I'm having the same issue with CyanogenMod on my HTC one m8 (w/ LG watch urbane 2)... I did the app the 'right' way... Was about to try apkmirror version but now I see u have the same problem with that...
The answer is in this thread here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=68924594&postcount=285
Edit the build.prop
edit -this is the direct link to the post. Now that I can search and copy urls, I think the first link was wrong thread.
In case anyone else sees this as the answer... be careful when doing that edit.... I did on my HTC One m8 (running cm nightlies).... killed my phone and can't get into recovery to try and revert the change.
Edit: Finally fixed my m8... Moral of the story is: Don't blindly edit the build.prop file... That simple change can, at least in certain cases, cause the phone to not boot.
That solution does not work for me (I'm on cm13 klte snapshot).
Does anyone have another suggestion?

2) download TWRP for device
3) boot to bootloader / fastboot mode
4) fastboot flash twrp.img
but this nolonger works and the online directions I have found keep failing.

We currently don't have a custom ROM for the A20,

If someone could develop a custom ROM it would raise our status in the xda community.

Were all hoping to get a working custom rom for this device, Keep up bro. Thanks for trying
Seems like all the GSI ROMs break some hardware functionality at this stage so the best option for now is to root and debloat stock and load your own preferred apps in place of the Samsung / Google ones. Not quite a "Custom" ROM but makes for a pleasant enough phone that you can tolerate much more than the horror of stock.
Now a custom kernel to clock our severely crippled SoC back to its full glory would be a thing to smile about
