My moto x XT1562 is sim-free and has a unlocked bootloader. It was running fine earlier but for the last few days has been almost useless.
It has started showing a shifted screen and the colors have started changing randomly. It also shows a strange multicolored bar over the screen from time to time. Since this change, it has become very very slow and almost impossible to use. I have successfully flashed the OEM latest build on it but it has not shown any improvement. After flashing the OEM build, it sometimes gets stuck in boot loop on Motorola logo and sometimes goes to the welcome screen but does not respond at all. Unfortunately, I cannot insert the screen shift images here.
I have tried everything that I could find and could not fix it. Looking for some help/direction as to what might be wrong. Could it be a hardware issue or memory issue? Or is there something that can solve this?
I have tried flashing the OEM firmware via mafastboot and RSDLite. Both complete fine but the result remains the same with slow/unresponsive and shifted screen. Current build is - XT1562_LUX_RETASIA_DS_6.0.1_MPD24.107-70_cid7_subsidy-DEFAULT_CFC

Extract mfastboot, then extract all "stock firmware" to the Mfastboot folder, once complete. Hold Shift + right click and hit "open command prompt here"
Type mfastboot devices
A return should pop with some random characters (your device) if it's connected, from there type:
mfastboot flash partition gpt.bin
mfastboot flash motoboot motoboot.img
mfastboot flash logo logo.bin
mfastboot flash boot boot.img
mfastboot flash recovery recovery.img

mfastboot erase modemst1
mfastboot erase modemst2
mfastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
mfastboot erase cache
mfastboot erase userdata

First boot can take a little while. Be patient
To keep data, skip mfastboot erase userdata. (not recommended if coming from Lollipop)
Leave me a thanks if it helped

Hard to say. Somone recently reported a sparse chunk image too large error. I've never had this before. Most suggest it's due to using an older fastboot.. Other say this has worked fine. If I were you try and find the firmware for your region. I'm not that experienced. I simply mirror the downloads to save the people the hassle
I'm brazilian and I'dont have a good english, but I'll try explain.

XT1068 Stock Firmware
hey guys,
here I bought you the stock firmware with marshmallow (6.0) [XT1068_RETAILDSDSALL_6.0] . This stock rom is for all the versions of the Moto G 2 (2014) . So if you want to roll back to stock then you can flash these files and I'm sure you will not mess up with your modem files . Flashing these files will get you modems for all regions , whether it is Indian or any asian country or it is brazil or USA , these work for all of them .
Firstly download these files
drivers for moto g2 from here
ADB and mFastboot Files from here
stock firmware from here
How to :-
download the motorola drivers in the pc
extract the adb and mfastboot files and then extract the stock rom in thr same folder of that of adb and mfastboot
enter into fastboot mode of the phone by pressing anholding volume down and power button together.
in pc press shift key with right mouse button in the folder and then select open command window there
type the following command one by one
Code:
mfastboot.exe oem lock begin
mfastboot.exe flash partition gpt.bin
mfastboot.exe flash motoboot motoboot.img
mfastboot.exe flash logo logo.bin
mfastboot.exe flash boot boot.img
mfastboot.exe flash recovery recovery.img
mfastboot.exe flash system system.img_sparsechunk.0
mfastboot.exe flash system system.img_sparsechunk.1
mfastboot.exe flash system system.img_sparsechunk.2
mfastboot.exe flash system system.img_sparsechunk.3
mfastboot.exe flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
mfastboot.exe erase modemst1
mfastboot.exe erase modemst2
mfastboot.exe flash fsg fsg.mbn
mfastboot.exe erase cache
mfastboot.exe erase userdata
mfastboot.exe oem lock
If you do not wish to lock the bootloader then skip first and last command
Code:
mfastboot.exe reboot
please not that i am not responsable for any bricks or bootloops
Now you are done. Enjoy!!!!!
