Drag the widget/s to a open screen and resize them to 2x1 lol

Hello,
As I'm reorganizing my main home screen (HTC Desire), I find that the original HTC 4x2 takes up too much space especially because I don't care about the weather part of it.
I do like the "flip clock" design though.
I have looked around for an alternative and have found the following solutions:
BeautifulWidget small home widget
This looks nice, especially with the right skin, but it's still a 4x1 widget and the clock itself is not centered even when hiding the weather part of it.
Is it possible at all to have the clock centered?
Digital World Clock widget
This one is a 2x1 widget without weather, which means I can center it at the top of the screen. Unfortunately the date display is bogus on a French locale phone, it does not respect the date format(day month year) and the name of the day of the week (Thursday) gets displayed as a number (5)
I have contacted the author about that, I'll see if he replies.
In the mean time, would you have any other suggestions for this?
Regards
Olivier
Hey,
You could try "Retro Clock Widget", free in the market. Has clock and date functions in separate 2x1 widgets. Not sure if it solves your date issues though.
Good luck.
Thanks, I did see that one as well but the date is not on the same widget as the time so it's not fitting quite well with what I'm looking for.
I sure looks nice though.

Thanks, but I could not find a way to configure it as a 2x1 widget without weather
Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but I use Flip Clock Large (used to be in the market, isn't any more, but you can still find the APK on the web) It's very similar to the original HTC Clock, but without the weather.
I had awesome 2x1 flip clock widget that is part of cMiui ROM, but can't find it anywhere as a standalone widget... please help.
Here is an image of it:

I tried that one, but it doesn't flip when unlocking, to show how many minutes has passed... this is something I really liked on cMiui flip clock widget and can't find it anywhere. It's driving me nuts
This looks like MIUI flip cloc widget:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1298151&nocache=1
BUT it doesn't flip!!!
it is just a static clock widget
Could someone please tell me how they are getting icons using desktop visualizer but with no text underneath?
I'm using desktop visualizer + adw.launcher + openhome rom.
I've tried removing app names in adw, which removes the text under the shortcuts, but doesn't remove the text under widgets? How's everyone else doing it?? All I wanted was 1x1 iphone (or similarl) style widgets but now I get the 1x1 widget with text half overlapping the bottom of the image, and it looks crap. Any ideas?? Thanks.
Also, when I choose 'dockbar' in adw, the dockbar stays exactly the same? It doesn't look like the dockbar image, but stays as the standard dockbar, even after restarting adw, or restarting phone (see link below).
"DockBar - turn on/off the new (secondary) dockbar"
http://code.google.com/p/adw-launch...#Chapter_1_-_Installation_&_Post_Installation
Sam.
Sorry, I've solved the first issue, just by deleting the label text in desktop visualizer and then adding a 1x1 widget, no text appears. So obvious! Doh.
Still can't get the nice reflective dockbar going though. Any ideas?
Aha, solved it, I didn't realise the dockbar was dragable! Press on the app button in adw.launcher and dragging up reveals the secondary bar
I know this thread is all my posts so far, but they might help someone.
In particular the wallpaper and clock widget.

This is set up just how I would like it
Cheers!
The wallpaper is attached. The clock might just be Digital Clock widget, but not 100%

Thanks for the wallpaper, been looking for it for ages.
I found it here:
http://hd2.meinblog.us/
you can use Google translate to see what he's using in the setups.
You could make digiclock look like that. It's free on the market.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
You can get a clock like that with Minimal Text widget too.
There is definitely a MT-widget, at least in the down part of that home screen, so it is highly possible that the clock is made with that too.
Other widget that looks exactly like that is called Digital Clock Widget. Search it on market!
I'd post a link to my current setup that looks exactly like that, but as a new user I can't do anything.
EDIT: Here's a text link: i.imgur.com/A86Jg.png
I have some text bolding there, but everything can be changed with Minimal Text widget.
I have a few weather themes for beautiful widgets but it looks nothing like what it suppose to look like. Is it a certian setting I have to put? I have no idea why it does not look as shown.

I think some of your thoughts for wanting to explain what it is you need help with...never made it to your fingers for typing...
At least post pics...
Well I can't post a picture of what it looks like on my phone because I don't have a camera besides my phone. But I can tell you the widget that I want has the five day forecast. The one I have has the time and only the current weather for some reason.
The widget you want is the Beautiful Weather 4x1. This widget is just the Weather. It's the last one in the widgets list.
Wow! Thanks SiNJiN76. I feel kinda like a noob now. SMH. Thanks again. Not sure why I didn't look down that far.
Is there a launcher that allows widgets to not have margins? I want my widgets to be close together. I cant find a way to do it.
You have to use something like nova and choose like a 10x10 grid..that's the only way I think would work.

Im using nova and any grid size just doesn't work right. Say you have a 4x2 widget. Then you set Nova to 10x10. Now set the 4x2 widget. To make it look right the size changes to 10x3. Just doesnt work. Basically I want to put 3 widgets on my screen. one thats a 5x2, 5x3 and 5x3. So I would need a grid size of 8x5. But If I set it to that the widgets dont fit at all. Its because the widgets have to be re-sized so big to look right.
BUMP Until I get a answer
The only suggestion I could find for your question isn't free. Next Launcher allows you to freehand resize all widgets (meaning does not "snap to grid" resize) , even overlap. This is the lite version so you can try before you buy...

Lefty is exactly right. I've been using next launcher 3D and that's actually one of my favorite features that NO other launchers can accomplish (that I know of).
Some widgets just have funky dimensions, so it's nice to able to resize and place them literally anywhere on the screen. They can partially overlap as much or as little as you'd like.
This can also be done with apps...it looks messy, but you can turn off the grid completely and place the app icons wherever you want. You can even rotate the icons! And I won't even get into all the 3d features...I could go on forever. This is by far my favorite launcher and I've used quite a few.

The issue im having is this. No matter what launcher I use. Next 3D included. If I make the GRID Size 10 x 5 I should be able to have many widgets on my screen. So a 4x2 weather and a 4x3 Pulse and then a 3x4 Hangouts Widget and then a 2x2 photo. So I should just need a 4 x 9 grid right. Wrong because the grid is so big the a widget at 4x2 ends up being a 4x4 to view it all. I need a launcher that allows the widgets to show correctly at the default widget size. So I want a 10 x 5 grid size to actually hold more then 3 widgets. Nova Launcher is the same way. Just with Nova you can adjust the margins anymore then the 3 sizes included. With next you can make your own. But still I cant fit the 5 widgets on my screen that I want. Weather, Gmail, Hangout, Photo, Pulse. I want all those in there default widget sizes. I dont understand why making the grid size bigger makes the widgets bigger. In windows or Mac OSX when I make the rez bigger it doesnt make anything else bigger.
