Removing Bloatware. Battery Draining? - Sprint LG G6 Questions & Answers

Hi.
I just got the LG G6 from Sprint and I'm loving the phone so far. But I have a lot of unneeded bloatware that I am never going to use and I think it's draining my battery faster. How do I get rid of of those apps completely? The ones that can't be deleted from the settings.

Just disable them from the apps menu in settings.

Any idea how to disable the bloatware apps whose "Disable" button is greyed-out and unavailable? Some of the bloat apps can be disabled, or even uninstalled, but others refuse to be disabled and all you can do is force stop them but they restart themselves.

Is there a way to limit number displayed in recent apps menu?

Hi,
I'd like to limit number of apps displayed in "Recent Apps" menu. Why? There is a small lag while invoking recent apps menu with lots of apps there. There is even visible stutter in displaying recent apps glowing backrground animation. I don't think it's multitasking performance issue becasue phone is working fine besides this, e.g. when I was using alternative app switchers. The lag is probably connected to renderning all those thumbnails. At the moment I just remove apps from there manually but it's kind of annoying. Is there a way to limit recent apps list?
PS. I know that removing apps from recent apps list is not killing processes and I don't want to. I just want to limit of apps displayed there to avoid lag.
Wait for 4.4 (the real one, not the current fanmade versions) as this will have updated drivers that will enable multitexturing in the UI, that'll get rid of the occasional choppiness.
I don't think it's possible to limit the number of apps in the taskswitcher.

Recent apps floating windows

So I used to be able to long press on a recent app from the recent apps window. I seem to have accidentally disabled this though and I can't get it back on. I've tried disabling wanam and xposed as well as toggling any settings I thought might be related. Anyone have any ideas on getting that back?
Make sure multiwindow is enabled in the notifications pull down bar shortcuts.
Yeah, it is. Everything else multiwindow wise works.

How do I get rid of background usage?

In iPhone, you can simply disable background refresh and once you close specified application, it won't receive any updates, notifications won't popup. I can't seem to do same thing on my S8. I have restricted background data usage through connection settings, I have enabled limited data usage in both snapchat and instagram but still, they keep sitting in background and I get notifications from Snap. I have installed Greenify but apparently, without root auto hibernation doesn't want to work. Any advices? Samsung's inbuilt optimizer that is supposed to hibernate apps doesn't seem to work on these 2
Try Medium power saving mode, or data saver.

Huawei P Smart: too aggressive background killing

Hi, I've a rooted (SuperSU) P Smart. I'm struggling with the background app killing policy: lots of apps that should remain in background and send me notifications are costantly removed (the system is also randomly killing the superuser process too!). For instance, Pushbullet is not usable, Fabulous doesn't start its rituals and so on.
Searching the net it seems that I need to add the desired apps to a "protected apps" list, but there is no such section on my phone. The only similar thing I've managed to find is "ignore battery optimization" (per app) in settings -> apps and settings -> battery, but no way.
Any suggestions?
Ok, solved... I made a factory reset, removed SuperSU and installed Magisk, the "ignore battery optimization" now works perfectly. The thread can be closed.

RCSPhone

Since the January security update GSam battery monitor is showing noticeable battery usage by RCSPhone. This is not an installed app, but appears to be a package to enable RCS messaging. The problem is I'm on ATT, which doesn't support RCS and yet the battery is taking a hit. Any suggestions on how to disable or prevent this from happening?
Try going to
Settings
Apps
All Apps
Triple Dots at the top Right
Select System Apps
Then look for anything Sprint Related, and force close, clear Data, Disable if available and Select/Uncheck back ground Data
