Better ROM of all? - X Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there,
Which is best among
Pure Nexus
Lineage
Groundzero(Tesla Tipsy Validus)
Resurrection Remix
Viper OS
Xenon HD
Pls suggest . . . Thanks in Advance.

I apologize in advance if i sound rude, but first of all this thread is in wrong section. The section is for developmental purposes only. There are already a few threads out there which discusses on the ROMs.
Secondly, comparing the ROMs like this is sort of disrespectful to the respective devs. All of them put their best efforts to gives us the ROM on our "not-so-popular" phone.
You can go on a flashing spree and try all of them without complete setup and judge for yourself which one suits your needs.
As for me, i use Carbon ROM and i am very satisfied with it.

It's impossible to say which ROM is the best. It really all depends on what you are looking for. Resurrection Remix probably has the most features/customization options. Other ROMs on your list have much less features but have better performance. Best thing for you to do is to read about each ROM and flash them yourself to see which one best suits your needs.

IMHO no doubt: AICP. Lots of feature and customization, stability, daily update.

Sultan's CM13 is da bomb
Resurection Remix with Radioactive kernel
Everyone has different taste and opinion. e.g. I personally like OmniRom by herna. But it would be better if you try some ROMs yourself and decide
Sultanxda's CM 13 ROM is clean, fast and has great battery life. I didn't feel a need to search for a better one, as there's probably no better one (this one is very very popular)
I use sultanxda's CM13 CAF and Lightning Kernel. Couldn't be happier. I get 6hr SOT.
I use the Cyanogenmod 13.0 by jgcaap, here.
The Kernel is NewKernel, by Jgcaap also.
But I also think there's no way of knowing what is the best ROM or Kernel, each forehead and find the best for you according to your taste. The best for me was the Jgcaap.
DarkoBas
Omnirom by Herna with Donkey kernel = bliss

Hi team, this is Sudip here, I had some queries regarding the kernel. I am not very tech-savvy, can any kernel be flashed in oneplus one, also can any rom be installed on any kernel? does all the mod roms includes a kernel in it?
Please don't laugh at me if I have asked anything stupid, just tying to understand the facts and tricks of android.

Try not to flash kernels if you don't know what you are doing. Especially do not flash other device kernels on OPO.

S-AOSP is best for my needs. Based on Omni, a fine mix between smoothness and customization..
My personal favs ATM are
Darkobas
BrokenOS
Sultan's CM13 build works best for me. It is fluid, simple, and for me has a better battery life due to his optimizations.

I used Darkobas, Slimsaber, BrokeOs, Nuclear AndroidProject and all of this ROM are good under the aspect of battery and personalization but I prefer Darkobas for the stability, I had some bugs with NAP and SlimSaber but I think that with the next builds will be perfect. I prefer MM than LL
RR rom for now by fav
I personally like CM13 by Sultan the best, 'cause it's just fast and fluid! Hope that helps you

What rom should I go for?

Hi to everybody,
I am about to mod my Xperia z since now it is experiencing a drop in performance and battere life. It is now updated to 4.4
What is the more stable rom available. I do care a lot about camera and battere life.
Thank you
JB stock rom is the best rom for battery life, but suffer a lot of performance.
LP 5.1.1 stock is best performance and camera, more stable, but not battery friendly. You can use Stamina Mode for better battery in this rom, or use zombie kernel.
As for M rom, you can use such as CM13, StryFlex, Resurrection Remix, etc. And you can combine it with Airless Kernel.
Hope it help
btw, you post on wrong section, my friend..

You need to post it in Q&A. If you're new to XDA, welcome and go read XDA rules (they are pined in every forum you'll find some useful tips)
Use search. You can search just Xperia Z forum for name of rom/kernel and you'll find it.
Good Luck!

Noob question - please help

Hi folks,
So my mother has a I9505 galaxy s4 (italian) and I want to install a custom recovery and rom for her to hrlp the device be more functional and fast. Can you please suggest which rom I should choose and what steps I should follow to install the recovery etc..
Thanks!
You can flash twrp from Odin and then you can use twrp to flash custom ROMs.
If you want a very stable ROM, you should stock with these stock ROM or custom ROMs that are as close to stock as possible.
That simple? TWRP and then the custom ROM of choice? Which ROM do you recommend for daily usage which is fast and possibly based off Android 6 or 7?

Are you familiar with Odin? Is the s4 already rooted? (Towel root worked for me) and that is done directly from the s4. As far as ROMs go I have tried almost all of them and ultimately I really enjoyed the tipsy ROM but it runs on kit kat.. Google just recently released Google assistant for all devices running 5.0 and up. So I went to CM 12 running 5.1.1 and it runs pretty smoothly. The most important thing to remember to always always always back up your device..ALWAYS LOL.
And when I first started to dabble in rooting I had the T-Mobile Galaxy S.. The first one that came with Avatar lol.. I'll just say this.. As long as it turns on and u can enter either recovery or download mode you can pretty much recover from and mistake.. Pretty much.
XDA has a great first start section for rooting. And most of the developers are very good at explaining the step by step.
I recommend getting very familiar with your recovery since that will be your primary source of flashing.. Because u can't just flash one! Lol once u get your first successful flash Ro a new custom ROM its like sex.. Gotta see what else u can flash to the device ( for example lucky patcher) and then you will start learning that the developers have some really cool stuff out there..
And CM does nightly ROMs meaning its constantly being updated!
Just do your research first if u don't know ask( obviously lol) Google Google Google lol and ALWAYS ALWAYS BACK UP YOUR DEV.
Titanium Backup in NY opinion is the best.. Hope I didn't get to off topic and I hope I helped.. If u have any other questions I will do NY beat to help and answer them.
PAY IT FORWARD AND HELP THE NEXT GUY/GIRL..

Lineages OS is 7.1 but beware of ROMs that new for devices that old. In the beginning they are extremely buggy..

POLL - Your favourite ROM

Hi everyone,
Today most of the users are using Custom ROMs, and it's bit phenomenon, as Stock ROMs doesn't provide latest Android version, also they're very much different from pure android (such as miui).
In which material based apps looks odd.
As miui is totally different from pure android, it doesn't have any material design.
So, today we see..
Which custom ROM is goin' awesome now-a-days.
What people are liking now-a-days.
So, redmi 2/prime users, it's your time.
Comment your favourite/Current ROM which you're using.

For your kind information.
This is poll.
I want to see which rom is going nice "now a days".
No one just stick to one rom. As a particular ROM can have bugs at any time.
That is the reason, I've stated 'now a days'.
So that new people who are coming, can get to know which ROM is super stable now a days.
And you say "try by yourself" .. I admit it, but only when anyone wants features most., at that situation only he should try.
But if anyone wants a stable rom, then he can check the poll, or ask anyone, so that he could see the stable ROM now a days.

And roms comes with updates soon and soon.
So we have to create threads, so that we could see the stable rom, in that time period.

Sot is around 3.5-4 hrs.

Is "which ROM you prefer and why" a stupid question?

Well, I'll ask it anyway .
I've only ever used Cyanogenmod and Lineage, but now there is no stable and good release for J5 (2016). Obviously, stock has so much bloat and is super slow, all I want is fast, functioning and pretty phone. Which is the ROM of choice for you and why?

Am pretty much 50/50 between TW and aosp.TW can easily be debloated mainly stock and just add quasar 1.6 fix and runs fast same as kernel that's in space os and I recommend that one too.Am currently on Havoc which is great looking and saves you a good 1.5gb TWRP backup so yes the aosp are already debloated. All the oreo roms are fast in my opinion.Havoc is my favourite followed by RR 6.0.1 and the older lineage builds are great too.

Not as smooth as aosp ROMs tho. TW is a really heavy skin over android and is known to be slow and stuttery even on the best of devices.
But yes you are right it is the smoothest of the TW ROMs due to the heavy debloat. Especially the SEP 8.5 LITE.
For me though I stick with aosp ROMs because they are a lot faster, a lot more customisable and also better on battery life.
But everyone has different tastes and what suits me and you might not suit someone else.
All ROMs are amazing and we need to give more thanks and donations to the devs

No battery problems for me with Havoc. It can be a bit slow to charge sometimes but not big battery drain.Yes I think bluetooth audio might be problem on some aosp roms if you use bluetooth but I use wired headset and bluetooth works fine in all aosp roms I have tried for file transfers and connecting to externel devices like gamepad which I use.
