Hi guys.
Does anyone know a way to copy an app from one Lumia 950 to another one without going from the store?
Or alternatively anyone knows how to clone an entire Lumia 950 phone to another while keeping the same APP?
I'll explain my issue...
My primary Lumia 950 has fallen into the water and now it has some function problem.
I had to buy another one.
Into my primary Lumia, I've installed an app called FACETUNE (I bought that) but this app is no longer avaible on the store
My primary Lumia 950 is interop-unlocked and i've installed "App Data Manager Tool" but this app create only a backup settings of the app not the entire App....
I searched online but did not find a .XAP archive of the latest version of FaceTune for Windows phone (v 0.7.2) to install it with the deploy manager...
Now i've a brand new Lumia 950 without my FACETUNE App...
Anyone can help me?
Thank you very much, Max

I've enabled advanced options and i've created a entire backup (.ZIP) of FACETUNE APP.
I've copied this backup into new phone but it's impossible to install it because App Data Manage Tool doesn't have any restore option for entire Backup.
This is the problem....
You must extract only Install folder from this archive and pack it as xap files and deploy xap file via computer to phone. Look my signature, i make some xap files already, if you dont know, send me backup and i make you xap file.

I've extracted Install folder and repack with ZIP (renamed .XAP at the end).
The deploy program send me an error in "XAP package signature or invalid file WP manifest".
I'll send a private message to you with the link to download my entire backup
Thanks very much.

I think the best solution is to have your own configuration software.
Please, send me the link to download the right version of VS2015 (SDK)....
if you want install full SDK, first uninstall all other version with

Hello ! this tutorial is about " How to install XAP files in your dev-unlocked Device from PC using Application Deployment "
Requirements :
- The Windows Phone SDK ( Download SDK from Here ).
- A dav-unlocked Windows Phone Device ( Here The Steps : Legal Way ).
- And a Windows Phone Dev Center Account ( Dev Center ).
OK! let's start :
1- Get your XAP ready ( Google is your Friend ^^ ).
2- ( i think that the SDK is installed ) so ! search for this application " Application Deployment " ( don't forget to plug your Device with the USB cable ).
3- in the Target ComboBox choose " Device ".
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
4- Click on Browse and select your Downloaded XAP file ( ex. "gMaps Pro.xap").
5- Click on " Deploy " ... wait a moment .
6- Enjoy your App !
------------------------------------------------------------
*Remember : this is a legal way to deploy your XAP files , and this work only for Windows phone App developers
------------------------------------------------------------
Windows Phone Power Tools is an even better tool to install XAPS. You get the integrated Iso store explorer and you can update a xap without having to reinstall it.
Also, this really probably belongs in general. It's not a hack (just basically re-stating instructions from the Microsoft tools) and while it's relevant to development, that's true only in a very vague sense. It's nothing new, or anything that most devs wouldn't already know...
Not saying it's a bad tutorial at all, just that I don't understand why you posted it here.
Tools only for WP8?

The Windows Phone Power Tools is only for WP8 isn't it?
WPPT was originally developed for WP7, I believe. I don't know if there's a version that can do both, but I wouldn't be surprised.
I think who knows how to developer unlock his/her phone of course can Install apps!
It's not a really strange thing for developers .
as @snickler mentioned using WP Power Tool is so much better because of visual Iso Storage browser and ability to update apps (that it's only possible using Command Prompt in original SDK Deployer)
I feel like this isn't the first guide on how to deploy XAPs. There is another one somewhere.

Well, for a start, you could try searching before posting (you know, number one rule of the XDA-devs forum?) and reading up on that very well-known error code.
Additionally, you could try installing your store apps from the store, instead of trying to sideload them for some reason. (Yes, I know what reason. Go on, say it. The mods actually enforce *that* rule.)

I think his point was that the answer to your question can be found by googling it or using xda search. Also, he is right about the Mods not liking warez, discussions of warez, and we even don't like asking for help getting warez apps to work.
Whoa... I was about to say that I don't actually have a clue what "The End of the central map can not be find" means, but putting that exact phrase into Bing, without even correcting the grammar or anything, led to a discussion which clearly indicates it's either a corrupt archive (.XAPs are just ZIP archives, except for the DRM-encrypted ones), a multi-part archive (this should not be the case for a .XAP), or it's not actually an archive at all.
Search! The knowledge is out there (and it's faster to find it that way than by posting anyhow).
I have dumped the entire Windows Phone 8.1 ROM and uploaded it onto Mediafire if anyone wants to do research with it. It is a 1.31GB iso file and can be opened normally with WinRAR or PowerISO.

yes i tried but surely didn't work
in new wp8.1 sdk there is a dll file i think it name was appxdeployer.dll you can find it after appverify.exe
this file deploy appx files
if you try you can't install appx files on whole sdk 8.1 and it returns an error that you have to developer unlock your device first or something like that .

Tell me did you first try to unregister your phone and then again register it but now with the new register tool?
And is there any chance that we can somehow recompile this appx into xap file keeping it`s permissions?
And just to spice up this thread a lilbit`

i didn't unregister my phone.
as i said appxdeployer dll is not in GDR3 so you can't deploy appx anyhow
for decompile and recompile to xap
you can check winmd codes using .Net reflector 8.0
and for rebuild files in xap format *maybe* yes.
we can use winmd files in wp8 so adding a winmd to vs may work
we know there's a lot of hidden things in wp8.1 sdk
some of them:
action center / background / phone dialler / kate voice assistant / new store and ....
To delete.

This is Because of the web installer needs to Be already installed visual Studio 2010 or Higher version on Your PC.
Many of the guys dont have installed visual Studio or they dont want to install it.
So For Those Peoples here is Separate Stand Alone version of Windows Phone Power Tools.
1. Download attach zip and Extract.
2. Run WindowsPhonePowerTools.exe
3. Connect Your windows Phone...Make sure lock Screen is open.
4. Connect...
5. Now select your xap and deploy or update.
Enjoy!!!
I don't think that will work (correct me if I'm wrong). Windows Phone Power Tools use CoreCon API - COM classes that come with Windows Phone SDK. Furthermore, it also references SmartDevice DLLs, which also come only with Windows Phone SDK.

Good. I´ll try.
I can browse now the app data folders of WP8.1 apps on device.
They are located here:
C:\Data\Users\DefApps\APPDATA\Local\Packages\"Appname"\LocalState\
This means that I´ll be able to backup and restore the data of WP8.1 apps with IO Explorer.:laugh:
On my sd card I couldn´t find the app data so far...

same here , but on pc you can explore everything on the sd card.
I was looking with web reg but can't find a key that could "unlock" it (this doesn't mean that the key isn't there )
@contable: Just a reminder that the full-capabilities version of the Webserver can access the SD card just fine (Filesystem, path is D:\)

Thanks for your reminder, but it doesn´t help either.
The folders I would like to browse are blocked on device.
Is there any new capatility for 8.1 which could help ?
On the internal storage is blocked C:\Data\programs\WINDOWSAPPS\ (installation folder)
On the as card is blocked: D:\WPSystem\AppData\Local\Packages\"appname"\ (appdata folders)

I've gotten a few questions about this rom,
I want to do a clean flash, so which base rom would you recommend (which one have you been using)
and how stable/fast is the w10 preview on the ativ s?
After few tries, I've fixed application deployer from SDK 8.1 to sideload xaps with all "restricted" capabilities in the manifest
(he-he, just curious why nobody did it before?)
1) Backup original deployer "AppDeploy.exe" and "Microsoft.Phone.Tools.Deploy.dll" from "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SDKs\Windows Phone\v8.1\Tools\AppDeploy" first!
2) Unpack attachment and replace files.
3) Enjoy!
I've tested modified deployer on WPTweaker and WPH Tweak apps, works perfectly.
Cons: I was lazy to add original localization so modified deployer has only English lang.
P.S. Of course to be able sideload apps with "restricted" capabilities your handset must be interop-unlocked

Works fine so far. Many thanks.
Maybe you can give instructions how to add other localizations. I would like to add german localization for myself.
sorry does not work for the : WebAccess_0_5_6_AllCapabilities.xap
@megasounds, do you have a handset with all capabilities unlocked? You may compare error message from the original 8.1 deployer and modified, messages are different. In case of modified deployer, the error message came directly from phone or (maybe, I'm not sure) from Microsoft.SmartDevice.Connectivity namespace.
Can't deploy WPTweaker_Release_ARM_1.4.0.xap

@titi66200, do you have WP8.1 SDK installed? It's not a standalone deployer but just a replacement of "native" SDK tool.
Yes.
I have build "MDILFileList.xml" with MDILXAPCompile.exe and rezip Xap.
And now i can deploy WPTweaker_Release_ARM_1.4.0.xap

Kinda strange 'cause I've tested on my xap downloaded from xda thread (for the test purity).
P.S. BTW, could you try to sideload other "interop-only" apps? (except @GoodDayToDie's WebAccess_AllCapabilities - I don't know how to sideload that app to the handset with "usual interop", not a "sammy" with the custom bits)
Can the coveted tetra lock screen app 1.2.0.0 finally be deployed? I'm currently on winmo 10 and can't test lol

That's about half my fault and half Microsoft's; the AllCapabilities version of the webserver includes *all* the capabilities that were usable by a third-party app in 8.0 (even if they aren't necessarily used for anything). Microosft removed some of those in 8.1. This results in trying to install an app that requires capabilities which the OS doesn't even understand.
Workaround is to remove capabilities from the app's manifest until it installs. Alternatively, use the normal-caps version (or another registry browser) to see all the available capabilities - they're under HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SecurityManager\Capabilities) - and remove the ones in the app's manifest that aren't supported.
I'm really sorry for not updating the app in so bloody long. I got stuck on some really huge set of changes for it that aren't working right yet, and then I got swept up in another project altogether, and that + life generally being busy (travel, girlfriend, day job, you know the drill) has meant I've been neglecting that app. I need to switch back to the stable branch, fix the capabilities, and release a trivial update. I'll try to do that as soon as possible (but my dev PC is temporarily dead, so I'll need to use my laptop, and I've got plans with friends tonight... again, you get the idea). Sorry again.
I've changed slightly AppDeploy (forgot to add app icon in the initial post ); also added decompiled sources (in case someone want to improve/add own localization - but my 2¢ - don't waste you time )
Removed ID_CAP_SOUND_CONTROL in "WMAppManifest.xml"
Added "WindowsPhoneReservedAppInfo.xml"
Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<WindowsPhoneReservedAppInfo xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/phone/2013/windowsphonereservedappinfo" PinableOnKidZone="false">
<SoftwareCapabilities>
<SoftwareCapability Id="ID_CAP_SOUND_CONTROL" />
</SoftwareCapabilities>
</WindowsPhoneReservedAppInfo>
And i can deploy with original AppDeploy.
Hmm, I thought WindowsPhoneReservedAppInfo.xml is just for WinRuntime apps, not Silverlight...
@titi66200, are you able to see/play ringtones after that change (tap any button on the "Sounds" page)?
Yes all Works
Edit
glancescreen.xap is RuntimeType="Silverlight" and use "WindowsPhoneReservedAppInfo.xml"
Wow, pretty cool trick, thanks! I'll add your solution to the WPTweaker project.
