Hi guys,
wanted to change sim cards today and then this happened. After powering up the phone with the other simcard and using my unlock pattern the phone is stuck in unlock screen. I have this lock in the middle and the circle around it animation and I let it try to unlock for 30 minutes. Still same animation. Restarted several times, same happens. Any ideas how to safe my phone data or is factory reset the only way to go? I tried data swipe already via the recovery tool that is by default on the phone.

Hi everyone,
I enabled the encryption on my unrooted unlocked G2. Once the encryption was done, it rebooted and asked for the pin to boot. In entered the pin but the phone keeps rebooting and asking for the pin again and again.
I have tried more than 20 times, sometimes it boots to android but it shows a warning sign in notification (backup account needed) and then reboots after a few seconds. I tried turning on/off but the same thing happens again.
Is there anyway I can get my data out of this mess before doing a factory reset? Maybe rooting it from download mode and mounting from recovery?
Thanks a lot!
Phone has been rebooting constantly on its own since yesterday when the home button, lock button or unlock screen has been touched. Problem continued until today. Now phone will not boot up past the start up and service provider screen. Help!

Have you tried restoring your device to it's original factory settings?
As much as I didn't want to, yes. It's still giving me the same problem.
Try flashing stock rom with odin.
This morning I woke up and my Nexus was stuck on a boot loop. I tried to flash stock (choosing soft-bricked/boot loop) with the Wugfresh ToolKit but in the black command box I see the message/error that it is not available remotely for locked devices. I then went back and put the phone in the bootloader and tried to unlock it. I watch it as it says it is successfully unlocked, however as soon as it reboots automatically it gets stuck in the boot loop. If I power it off and the back on it is locked again. Can anyone suggest anything? Thanks in advance.
So your bootloader is now unlocked? Did you try going into recovery and wiping cache, Dalvik, and data? Did you try flashing a stock rom manually?

No, it locks again when it (automatically) reboots and starts looping.

Is there a way to stop it from automatically rebooting after unlocking? If so, will that muck it up?

not being able to unlock is a sign your emmc memory is bad. I'm afraid there isn't anything you can do except warranty if you still have it. The mother board needs to be replaced.

Hi guys,
I am having problems on my S7 Edge. The phone is stuck in a black screen and I tried restarting my phone by holding Volume Down + Power + Home for over a minute with no success. The phone is stock and rooted with TWRP and has been working fine for the last couple months. I tried plugging the power cable in and the battery screens shows up and I am able to restart my phone when the power is plugged in (battery over 80%). At this point it starts but after the Samsung logo appears it crashes again. I tried running the phone in safe mode but that did not work either. I am able to boot the phone into recovery mode and tried doing a Dalvik cache wipe. I get to the screen where Android is installing apps and after all apps got optimized it showed the home screen for about two seconds before crashing again.
After some more troubleshooting I took the sim card out and the phone is now running fine but whenever I put the sim card back in it crashes again. I tried turning airplane mode on and putting the sim card in which worked but once I turned airplane mode off it crashed again. My phone is Canadian version under Bell carrier. Just wondering if it is possible for a sim card to become corrupt and crash my phone like this? Are there any other areas I should check?
If anyone has some tips on what I can try it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Flash the latest Firmware using Odin by following this Tutorial step by step. Read everything at least once before you start the process!
Yes, it's possible for a SIM card, like anything else, to fail. Before messing with your factory software, I'd visit a carrier store and see if they'll let you try a different SIM.
Hey everyone,
So my phone died and then I got it charged and turned on and it booted up to the encryption lock screen where it says to start up your device, enter your pin. So I enter my pin and then its says, "verified" and then "starting android". and then a padlock appears on the screen, it opens, and there's like a load up circle going around it. At first, I let the phone sit to see if it would do anything but after an hour, I figured something is wrong. I dont know why this happened, I think I might have accidentally turned on the secondary encryption, but this really sucks, I don't want to have to factory reset and lose all my pictures and data. I can boot into recovery mode but sometimes when i turn it on it shows a screen that says installing update and has like a google ring looking thing that should be spinning around but it looks like its glitching out, after that screen it will go to a no command screen, and then it will eventually reach recovery mode. I really hope someone can help or knows what is going on because, I really dont want to lose all my stuff.
Thanks for your time
I tried posting link but im new, if you look up s7 edge frozen encryption, its the first link , another person describes the same issue.
I had this issue. In recovery, tell it to clear the delvic cache. Then try a reboot.
It too a few attempts before the phone would not boot directly into recovery. But once i got it to do a normal boot, it started normally.
Then after it's running, back it all up, boot into recovery, and do a system restore.
Hi I wonder if anyone can help me. I restarted my phone, it asks for my pin which I enter correctly. It then gets stuck on spinning padlock. I've tried a soft reset (I think that's what it's called, holding down power and volume keys). It restarts, I enter pin, it says starting android then gets stuck again. I'm not very tech minded (typical girl). Can anyone help. I'd rather not lose all my photos and apps. Thank you so so much in advance. Toni x
I am facing the same issue, but with a Samsung Galaxy S8.
- Safe mode: doesn't boot
- Recovery mode: works, clear cache doesn't solve the problem.
So since nothing worked to make it work (except the Factory Reset, but I didn't tried this option), I decided to wait in the padlock screen. After 3 hours the phone started.
I guess that the phone is decrypting some big file during startup. Indeed, some days before before this problem happens, I downloaded some big files via torrent (~2-4 GB video files).
I'll delete these files and make some tests to understand the source of this problem.
Have same issue after recent update, tried clearing cache and safe mode but didn't help, been on padlock for about 10 hours now, any solutions/experiences?
ps: on stock rom with stock recovery, no root or anything of that sort at all.
Have exactly the same issue..Please help
