request pin on boot - Samsung Galaxy S8 Questions and Answers

Hi,
My phone was lost/stolen. I have enabled request pin on boot and enhanced security. Is there any way to break the encryption eg.: factory reset or ROM flashing? I just want to be sure about that nobody can use my phone anymore.
Thanks!

How can i put password in bootloader (s4 GT-I9500)

HI,,,,
i have Samsung galaxy s4 GT-I9500 and i want to put password in boot-loader , so im using Philz_recovery and set password in recovery . i need to this to protect my phone if i lost it form any one can to change rom
thanks
Smartphones don't have a BIOS like a computer would. On a computer you can set a BIOS password as it in effect is its own operating system. Enter the password and the BIOS initializes what it needs to do then passes control to the bootloader.
On a smartphone, while there is low level firmware like a BIOS, there is no way of accessing it by the ordinary person, thus no need of a password prompt. The bootloader doesn't have a password because its only job is to set up the device environment for the operating system. Thus the only way to password protect a device is through a pattern lock, pin number, or password on Android's lock screen.
One last thing: Philz is two years out of date. Use TWRP instead.
thanks for your reply , helpful answer , but i want to know how can i protect my phone if stolen that some one cannot change the rom by go to download mode and using Odin so( if i put password in android lock screen , and put password in custom recovery and put password in download mode It will make it difficult to change the rom and make my phone unusable)
any Suggestions
thanks
If you had truly read my post you would have noticed two things.
1. Password protection of the bootloader (and download mode) isn't available.
2. Focus on securing the data.
So the answer to your request for suggestions is simple. Don't lose your phone.
All you can do is encrypt the phone, use Android Device Manager, and use a strong password.

locked Huawei P9 lite-need unlock

Hello!
After upgrade of sw reset was made and I needed to put password for fingerprint unlock, which I don't remember.
Is there a way to unlock it or at least backup data from phone? I don't want to make factory reset.
Phone is not rooter, so no recovery mode...
Also USB debugging is not enabled. This would also help if someone can help with that.
Please help!

How to bypass FRP Locked after factory reset

I recently purchased a used A20 (SM-S205DL) the previous owner's child locked the device and forgot the pin. I was told it didnt have FRP activated so i mistakenly hard reset it without checking odin mode first. Now i have no way to set up the device or enable usb debugging. I have firmware and some basic knowledge of flashing via odin. Although i have only used it to unbrick a device roughly 5 years ago. How can i either remove FRP via odin mode or download mode without usb debugging turned on. I have no preference on how to gain access to the device. If frp cannot be removed could the device be completely wiped and made into a basic Linux device? I have no preference on what is done i only want to have some use out of it
Factory Reset Protection exists to prevent the use of stolen devices. Unfortunately, this can become rather inconvenient in other circumstances where for some reason the Google account the device was locked on isn't available.
While FRP unlock services exist, we here on XDA tend to err on the side of caution due to the potential for criminal activity.
Try flashing vbmeta.img (UNLOCK BOOTLOADER)
Try this:
This device was reset. To continue, sign in with a google account that was previously synced on thos device.
