Skipped SMS notifications - Sony Xperia X Compact Questions & Answers

I've been using Google's Messaging app over the Sony one since I got the device. I've noticed though since the 7.1.1 upgrade, sporadically some text messages just never end up notifying me. I've sometimes caught them as much as 24 hours late when I just happen to notice the message is there after I open it up to text someone else.
Anyone else running into this?? It's really freaking annoying when on vacation and trying to plan with people.

Sms timestamp issues

Is anyone else having issues with, their sms timestamps? Its really screwing up the thread view of my sms window, makes for a somewhat confusing conversation.
SMS sent/received in same minute get sorted improperly.... annoying.
well I am receiving sms messages showing a time of 2-3 hours later than actual time received
I have this issue too. It only occurs when I am roaming though. My incoming timestamps are displaying as being 5 hours in the future. gah. This same problem occurred with my touch pro 2 and thought it was a bug. guess not. must be an issue with the carrier I am on when i am roaming.
any way to fix this?
yeah i have the same problem...i was just gonna post a thread about it.
i sometimes text with my girl nonstop for like 20 minutes, conversations get ridiculously hard to read. i send a text and her response is in the middle between to texts i sent a minute ago....
i used to flash sense roms on the g1 and always went back to a regular vanilla rom cause of this problem. now im stuck with this problem and every rom i go to has the same issue...sucks.
sigh, 30fps cap which a google employee said is not a software problem, fear of the glass of my screen raising above the bezel, now this? 720p video is very "720p" either. lotta gripes about the phone..sprint and htc f'ed up... it is a new product tho so i guess its supposed to come with a fair share of problems..

[Q] Problem recieving text messages

Hello to everyone!
I've been recently having some troubles with my evo 4g. I'm running fresh 3.5.0.1 and just updated my radios to 1.90_003 . Right before i upgraded (from fresh 3.4 or 3.3 not sure) I started to have problems with my text messages.
First i noticed that i got one from "the future" it was timestamped about 2 hours ahead of what time it was and i didn't recieve a notification for it. So i checked for some updates since it had been a while and upgraded everything i was suppose to (ota, radio, wimax, pri, etc). Now my messages seem to have the same problem if not more. I get alerted 5 or 10 minutes after i receive the message, while going through my conversations say i select a convo with my friend zack and convo from my friend kyle will come up, and i will have to go back and select it again.
So i'm wondering if this is a service provider problem or something with the apps for custom firmware i'm using. Could it be caused by an app like JuiceDefender?
The timestamp issue usually only happens when roaming, but can also be caused by network issues in general. My old flip phone, rumor, and instinct all had that issue from time to time.
The other issue with opening one text and getting someone else is an android issue, engadget reported on that today actually.

Yeah I have been having time stamp issues also. And when someone replies, it puts them all above my txts sent that day, so I gotta constantly scroll up to read txts.
Anyone got any idea's on fixing this?

^^That happens to me too^^ I thought my phone was just fcukin up. It does it when someone sends me a pic. Puts it at the top of the convo's for that day...
I got a "VERY" important text 20 mins late the other day too. 20 mins too late!!! Pissed me off!!!!
good to know that i'm not the only one experiencing this problem hopefully gets fixed soon. if i had to guess i think it's most likely a problem/conflict with sprint and android.

New text message issue (received notifications)

I've noticed an incredibly bad bug lately that has had me look at my DHD as a very small internet tablet. I'm no longer receiving notifications when text messages are received at least 50% of the time. This has only started happening since the last OTA update but it's so bad that I'm very close to switching back to my Milestone.
I have notifications enabled, audio notification selected and yet when I went to send a text message before starting this post I noticed one unread message sitting there from yesterday! Yesterday I noticed it was roughly one notification received every two text messages. I don't have to explain how bad this bug is and I'm hoping that someone else can at least confirm similar experiences. I was so happy when I got my DHD but after seeing the amount of what I would class as critical bugs in the software that mostly point to the notification system I'm really annoyed. What's the point of a phone that can't reliably inform you when you get a text message / something else that sends a notification? I could get a £20 phone that would do this without fail, I expect more from a phone that retails at over £400!
There's already a thread about this. Happened in the 1.72 OTA upgrade. Apparently HTC are working on it - but who knows how long that will take?
That being said, when the proximity sensor issue happened it was only a couple of weeks til a fix happened...fingers crossed...
In the meantime, use a 3rd party SMS client or if you're rooted, downgrade back down to 1.32
Hey man not to sound rude, but this is a known issue here, and i fear is even on the same page as this topic. Anyway, not to poopoo and run away the "accepted" solution atm is to install Go messenger or handcent, and then disable Sense notifications for SMS and use that until HTC sort out the OTA update.
Sonnuva...... I searched but didn't check the known issues. Sorry about that, mods please feel free to close / delete the thread and slap / kick me.

[Q] Text messages get garbled with old messages?

Every couple of days, I get a text message from my girlfriend (she uses an iPhone 4 on Verizon) where the first half of the message is one thing and halfway through it appends a completely different, older text message. For example, this one came in 4 days ago:
"I wanna do something cool during the day tomorrow, like Enchanted Rock or something, so bring proper outdoor workout attire or shorts if we just go to Lought of losing it gets me so scared haha. <3 It"
In this case, the first message should have read "I wanna do something cool during the day tomorrow, like Enchanted Rock or something, so bring proper outdoor workout attire or shorts if we just go to Lockhart or something" but it appended an old message halfway through where she was telling me about the thought of losing her ring that I bought her, scares her.
I looked at that particular message detail and it says it was sent at 7:00PM and received at 6:59PM on Feb. 22, which makes no sense. The second message that it appended was from many many days before (I scrolled through back as far as I could to Jan 30 and never found that conversation we were having about her losing her ring, so it must have occurred before then).
I am using my Nexus 4 with a monthly T-Mobile sim on the $30 plan (unlimited text, unlimited data (5GB), 100 minutes talk). I get terrible reception in my apartment which is where I am at most of the time when she sends me messages, so I thought maybe that had something to do with it. I have not noticed this issue with anyone else yet, but honestly I don't really text much with anyone else, and those messages that I do send/receive are never very long compared to what she sends me. I am curious if anyone else has seen this problem and if it is a service-related issue or a phone issue.

I have the exact same problem... I'll do you one better and say that I randomly don't get text messages either. Same exact situation as you. She's in Verizon with an iphone and I have the $30 prepaid with t-mobile. I have tried everything under the sun and cannot fix the problem... Its really starting to tarnish my view on the phone and the $30 plan... If you've found any solutions please let me know.

If you're having this issue with only one sender, the issue is far more likely to be the sender's phone, carrier, or the third party the carrier uses for intercarrier SMS than your own phone. Having the sender contact their customer support is generally the best option.
Only if you're having the issue with multiple (or all) senders on multiple carriers including your own is it likely that your phone or carrier is at fault.
recover text message from iPhone
I'll take you through all the possibilities of recovering the text messages from iPhone.
=> Check for iCloud backup if you have any so that you can restore the SMS saved on iCloud.
=> Check for iTunes backup. Download and install the free software "iPhone Backup Extractor" and launch the app. It will automatically search for any backups on your computer.
=> Check for your lost text message in Windows/Users/Contacts folder. There are times when iTunes saves the text messages in this folder.
Hope one of these methods will help you.

Not getting notifications on watch or on phone, driving me crazy!

So lately I have not been getting hangout notifications and it's driving me nuts. I have it paired to my android wear watch and 80% of the time it works fine but other times I get text messages and nothing, no buzz, not even a notification in my task manager letting me know I have a unread message, totally blank. It's not until I go into hangouts and I see the bold text that I know I got a message. Even when not paired to the watch, same thing, no buzz, sound, notificiaon icon, nothing until I open hangouts and see it.
Anyone else having this issue?? Driving me crazy and I already missed plans with friends because of it. Fully stock and on 6.0.1 as of a few days ago and still the problem.
Are you logged into hangouts on another device or computer? Also check to make sure you didn't snooze their notifications.

I had this issue. Try turning off wifi and see if it works. Mine did on cell data only. The messages would come into me on wifi, but I would just not get notified. I did a roll back on it and a re-install and it started working again normally. The first time I had this was on my Nexus 6. This is a LONG running hangouts problem ( various posts out there show it going back to 2012 ).
