Does the hard factory reset relock my bootloader. Is the bootloader problem covered in warranty. If no then please help me to relock the bootloader

Generally, a hard factory reset doesn't re-lock your bootloader if you've unlocked. To re-lock your bootloader, you'd have to re-flash the stock firmware.
What bootloader problem are you referring to? If you've unlocked your bootloader then your warranty is void with Motorola.

Bootloader question

Just want to clarify, If I have my Bootloader unlocked and fastboot flash the new Bootloader image from a factory image file will the Bootloader stay unlocked or will it re-lock? My phone is encrypted if it matters. Thanks.

It will stay unlocked. You can upgrade or downgrade bootloaders without any issues.

Your bootloader will always remain unlocked unless you deliberately issue the "fastboot flashing lock" command.

Is there a way to lock the bootloader?

I see plenty of guides on how to unlock the bootloader which as I understand voids the warranty. Is there any way to relock the bootloader if I need to? Maybe someone could link me to a guide?
I've had bad experiences with dodgy solder in 3 LG G4 handsets so I sort of see the value in a manufacturer's warranty these days.
In fastboot
"Fastboot oem relock YourCode"
Fastboot relock still show that the phone was unlocked before but to revert to original state you have to flash stock firmware using this guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-9/how-to/guide-rebrand-chinese-al00-mate9-to-t3554656/page57
This will lock the bootloader without any trace
Many many thanks.

Forgotten/lost unlock code

Could somebody tell me how can I relock the bootloader ? I have bootloader unlocked but I do not know where I wrote the unlock code. Is there any chance to relock it without paying for the code ?
Use dload method and install stock rom. This will lock your phone like factory new and Bootloader will show as "Locked". If you relock with code it will be "Relocked".
Boorloader status:
Locked - factory new, warranty
Unlocked - void warranty
Relocked - void warranty because it was unlocked
Dload method - https://forum.xda-developers.com/p10-lite/development/service-rom-b362-c432-upgrade-o-o-n-o-t3813946
Just use the right ROM for your version and follow the instructions. It's easy, just use the right version
