A week ago I bought a used s7 edge. The original owner had done a factory reset. My first thing was to flash the latest local stock rom, bootloader, and modem. Then I installed TWRP and then rooted. All great. After a few days, I got tempted by the new Nougat betas.
OK, so now I've got a huge mess. I updated to the Minotaur 7.0 beta (nice rom) and got it nicely set up. I'm quite sure that I enabled OEM Updates in Developer Options. I was trying a manual setup of the APN and it wasn't working. So I thought a reboot might solve it. When I rebooted, I got a black screen with a little red message at the top - Custom binary blocked by FRP lock.
So I have spent the afternoon on the Internet only to learn that Google and Samsung created that lock so that stolen phones cannot be easily put into service. If OEM updates are checked, that disables the lock. I don't know what happened but I have a phone with a black screen that won't boot. It will go into download mode so I will try to flash a stock rom.
OK, that worked. I lost 2 days set up but the rom is booting.

Hi.
Download the official firmware for your S7 and flash it with Odin. That should solve the problem.

Yes it did! I was very worried that the stock rom was MM and so I was going backward. But it worked! And now I am all set up again. Just wish I knew what triggered that so I could avoid it in the future....
Sent from my SM-G935F using XDA-Developers mobile app
Did you tilt the option about OEM unlock in develop settings? Also try to flash without setting any PIN or fingerprint in the official rom
How do I do this process with a Claro brand phone? I do not know what firmware to select, the list has every country but Unites States.

You can use the European firmware on it.
I just found that oreo 8.0 was released for my model s7 edge ( G935F ) . I was on italian wind stock rom 7.0 ( updated on march 6th ) I noticed that for now only UK and Ireland got 8.0 rom released. So I went and download both versions. When I load and set everything up in odin, press start, it gets stuck on sbootl4z and in the left upper corner its stuck on set partition. Im not new in flashing roms espp. in Samsung roms. But this never happened to me. I tried reboot, restart everything. Ticked usb debagguing i dev. options. Even went and wiped cache and factory reset. I tried all the usual things. I cant make it flash normally. Im from Serbia, but I was/still using Italian 7.0 update from march 6th because Serbian version of the rom haven't been updated since summer 2017....
Can someone help me please? I really cant wait to get oreo on my phone
Best regards, Nikola
P.s sorry for broken english
Same problem here
Use Odin 3.13.1 from Sammobile.
Hello, I think I'm in trouble. What happened is that I got this phone just a few days ago. It seemed legit and the price was reasonable. So, I bought it. When I bought it, I checked everything, and it was all good. But unfortunately I didn't checked it by going to the download mode. Now this device says g928f which is the international version, but in download mode it says product : g928p. I didn't notice it earlier and when I thought...hey let me update it to 7.0(it was in 6.0 btw)...I tried to flash the latest g928 upadte(the April one)...and it didn't work. I tried to find workarounds, but nothing worked. Then, I noticed that it was saying g928p in download mode, I thought let's try with g928p firmware. And it worked!...Now where is the problem then??? The problem is firstly it updated again and again (2 times) ...and now I have a activate this device in settings...not only that there are some Sprint bloatware installed...and the most important thing...I can't make a call using my sim...Now I'm super paranoid...I don't know what to do...I tried g928f firmware...and it doesn't work...is it locked???? If it is what can I do to unlock it???(I'm not in USA or anywhere where Sprint works...so that wouldn't work) is there any way to use g928p bootloader on g928f firmware??? Is there any way to get my device working again with 7.0 without this locking??? I'm looking for expart advice...please help me...!!!
why can not you call. what message you get or what is happening more excited ?
why can't you call? use the default firmware from sammobile. and dont forget to download the LATEST version and flash it using ODIN
There is two version for g928p the cdma and the gsm version so search the two firmware in google
TLDR: Samsung N920F seems to be a N920T, and you can flush ROM from N920T.
Recently my friends asked to help them with their Galaxy Note 5 which was bought somewhere in China. It was stuck at Android 6, with last updates from 2016, and seemed to have some malware (factory reset did not help).
It was really strange to see model N920F - I checked many threads here, and everyone says that there should be no such version as N920F:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/note5/help/note-5-n920f-n920t-t3310411
https://forum.xda-developers.com/note5/help/settings-sm-n920f-boot-loader-sm-n920p-t3776224

https://forum.xda-developers.com/note5/help/note-5-european-version-sale-sm-n920f-t3190929
Unfortunately, not even one of those topics found any reason for this or solution for updating. So I tried to find out the true and update phone myself.
At first, I booted to recovery. And there I saw that it model name was nobleltetmo - same as for N920T.
So I tried to install TWRP from N920T via Odin. TWRP successfully installed but phone stopped booting and TWRP only booted but did not work - it told me about bootloader version mismatch. So I found out that phone's bootloader version was N920TUVU4DPK6. So I tried to find a working firmware for this bootloader version and found it on xda: https://forum.xda-developers.com/tm...eral/stock-n920t-stock-n920tuvu4dpk6-t3518252
Fortunately, I could enter download mode and flush it with Odin. After it, phone worked fine, and now it was officially N920T. But even better things awaited - after updating it managed to fetch fresh updates! So I downloaded and installed them. Phone updated... And found new updates... And about 10 times again like this. Finally, I got the latest official Samsung Firmware with Android 7.0 - and it works flawlessly. Even Googe Play, NFC and banking services. I suppose that after this I could flush TWRP again because bootloader version also updated - but official firmware was quite okay so I didn't want to set up Lineage OS.
By the way, I think that I could find latest firmware and flush it with Odin in one go - but I didn't succeed in finding it.
Please beware that this N920F turned to be N920T - but your one can be another (N920V or N920P, for example)!
Now I am pretty sure that F in model version stands for "F***ed up".
So check bootloader version and be accurate.

I think you can try this rom: https://forum.xda-developers.com/note5/general/rom-lineageos-15-1-note-5-android-8-1-t3737405
If it is not compatible, you can enter rescue mode and check bootloader version.

Hi,
a few weeks ago I tried to root my Galaxy A5 (A520F).
But I forgot to turn on OEM unlock.
Then I installed Lineage OS (official built) with TWRP.
I never liked Lineage OS, but it was the easiest to install.
I realized that my sim didn't work and when I looked in the settings app, I saw that my Baseband and Model Number was missing.
I installed the stock ROM that I downloaded from SamMobile (A1 Austria / MOB), but it still didn't work.
Then I decided to install HADES ROM (I never heard of it until that day), but it still didn't show up any Baseband or Model Number.
Then I went to a guy that is very famous for repairing phones in our city.
After a week I got my phone back, but even he couldn't repair it.
I tried it again myself but after a few days I gave up and bought a Honor Play.
My question is:
Is it possible to bring back the Baseband and Model Number (without a box)?
If yes, then please let me know I would try everything.
Thank you!
( sorry for my bad english )
