Try flashing the appropriate superSU zip file for your device.

[Q] ls980 custom ROM loading issues

Currently I am running a LG G2 LS980 4.4.2 zvd. Rooted via stumproot. Twrp rrecovery 2.8.5.1. I also am running affliction custom rom found in the sprint lg g2 section. The problem i am having its that when I try to load a different custom rom I always get stuck in boot loop. I always do a full wipe and factory reset. I have tried liquidsmooth, blisspop, cm12, validus and a couple others, always gets stuck in boot loop. Today i did a full wipe again and installed affliction Rom again and it worked but the others still won't. I have also tried to downgrade my radio to zv8 or zv7 since that has been recommended on some threads i have read, but the files i downloaded off of a link found in here say they are corrupt when i try to load them and it doesn't work.
Does anyone know how to help me?
Hello, it sounds like you might have the wrong bootloader. You need a zv8 radio/modem and a jb bootloader for aosp lollipop ROMs.
So i downloaded zv8 radio zip from a link shared in another thread. Do you know another source for those? How do I change my bootloader? I have tried looking for that but have not had much luck.
Google "LG G2 modem" and the first result should be a xda thread with all the modems for all the modems for all the lg g2 variants. Download the ls980 zv8 modem. For the bootloader you need an app called autorec. Google "LG G2 autorec" and download autorec for the ls980 and run the app. Make sure you have the twrp 2.8.5.1 zip on your device because autorec also installs twrp 2.7.0.0 which is old. Just go to recovery and flash 2.8.5.1 to update twrp.
I will try to get new zip for zv8. Autorec is how i got twrp on my phone. I have upgraded twrp to 2.8.5.1. Although autorec does not show up in my app list currently, maybe when i installed affliction rom that app left by i kept twrp.
So i reinstalled autorec and upgraded twrp to the most current. I also redownloaded the zip for zv8 modems. When i try to install zv8 zip in twrp but it tells me the zip is corrupt and will not load.....

Upgrading Rooted (TWRP+SU) PE 1575 from 5.1 to M. Need Advice + I have a guide

Hello,
Now before you ask, I've been doing a lot of research though searching threads and post. I'm actually going to post everything I found so far. On my first attempt of getting Marshmallow a few weeks ago, I downloaded the OTA and installed it. BIG mistake as I had TWRP and stock update didn't know what to do. I had to use CLARK to go back to stock then restore my phone back to Lolipop. Then I had to fix my Wifi Issue. After that I started doing a lot of research.
Here's all of my research links:
[FiRMWARE] XT1575 PuRE FiRMWARE aNd STuFF
Already Rooted Moto X Pure 2015 (KitKat) - Upgrade to Marshmallow, How?
Marshmallow and root -pg 2
MXPE on the way. Root after getting M update? (POST #18)
I need some input on people who have already went though this. So, this is what I'm getting:
1) Flash/Update to TWRP twrp-2.8.7.1-clark.img
2) Download "XT1575 stock unrooted TWRP backup" (from the first link). UNZIP THE FILE and place it in the TWRP folder on your phones internal storage.
3) Reboot into Recovery. Backup, then Restore the "XT1575 stock unrooted TWRP backup" image
4) If TWRP ask to install SuperSU, DON'T INSTALL
5) Let the phone boot back up and setup Marshmallow.
NOW, in order to Restore your apps+data with Titanium Backup, your phone has to be rooted. Currently, your phone is not rooted so you have to do the following:
6) Download 2.62 supersu and move it to internal/external SD.
7) Reboot into Twerp.
8) Install 2.62 supersu
9) Reboot
10) Test Titanium Backup and you should be OK.
Now, has anybody used this method or a similar method? I think this is possibly a correct method. Also reading that there's no need to use the seamless root since you can use supersu 2.62.
Personally I would flash the full stock mm firmware in fastboot. Then flash twrp and root. I don't believe your method will update modem.

But if it doesn't update the modem, I could just flash that on there though TWRP right? NON-HLOS.bin?
If I can get some more feetback, it would be great. I'm going to attempt in one more day. If everything goes good, I want to make a quick guide since it's hard to find concrete guides for this situation.

(XT-1644) Lost Root after TWRP stock Rooted ROM restore

I've never ran into this issue all the Android Devices I have owned. I'm hoping it's something simple yet annoying as fukc. Not sure if it's a TWRP issue ? SuperSU (latest version after update) is there and it shows as all apps are Granted su permissions.
As of right now, I'm back to my original stock MPJ24.139-49 , with unlocked bootloader. I am seeing a few different SuperSU(s) in the threads to flash. I would just flash stock firmware but trying to get to file is a pain in the ass.
Any help greatly appreciated...
https://download.chainfire.eu/751/SuperSU/BETA-SuperSU-v2.62-3-20151211162651.zip this works for me and i also restored from nandroid backup and didn't lose root so yeah try it u don't need to patch boot.img or anything just flash it with twrp dats it

I am not a smart man (Attempting to swap supersu for magisk and things went downhill)

LGV20 US996 (Unlocked NOT US cell) and i was rooted (Stock rom, i did not download a custom rom)
So i wanted to switch from supersu to magisk, seeing the top comment in this gave me confidence and made me believe it was easy, so much confidence that i didn't create a backup in twrp (I AM NOT SMART). So i went and uninstalled supersu by selecting the option "Switch to another superuser app" in the supersu manager. I then went into twrp, flashed magisk16 and cleared dalvik and cache before i made my way to my home screen to install the manager and the manager said i was not rooted. i've done a few other things like flashing a boot.img and magisk16. I also later tried flashing magisk14 as someone said 16 didn't play nice with their V20 but long story short i still can get into TWRP but i can not make it to the home screen, i would love and appreciate some help with this in either finishing swapping magisk out or (What i wouldn't prefer) restoring the phone to stock and losing root. Right now if i try to boot the phone it just bootloops between the first LG logo and the "Warning, your device software cannot be checked for corruption....etc"
So for anybody who tries to help, i am grateful and thank you for your help, i'm sorry i was stupid and made some bad decisions which makes this whole problem worse.

Which version of kdz would you recommend so i can root afterwards?

Hey, thank you all for your help, i finally got it to work by formatting my data and wiping it clean, flashing US99610p.zip and then booting, going back into twrp and flashing Magisk V14
congrats

Twrp question..

,I have a 6T tmob that I converted to international 9.0.11 and unlocked it then tried to root and install twrp.. I used the All-in-one tool, twrp loaded on phone and installed magisk BUT I couldn't reboot into system, only twrp.
Didn't want to see it up permanently So I went back to a locked BL and stock international 9.0.11... until I can figure out my issue is, I'm sure something.
Any advice is appreciated
Thanks
I think after doing the steps you are supposed to reboot twrp and flash magisk again? Could be wrong

If your having issues just try to do it manually and see if problem persists.
