Upgrading to NN 7 and eventually rollback to MM 6 - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Dear community, I'm attempting to upgrade my S7E to latest NN 7 release (27th Jul) using Odin. My actual rom is MM 601 and I already use TWRP for nandroid backup. I also restored in the past the backup always from TWRP, without problem even coming from custom ROM like s8 port.
I already know how to do all the stuff, but what is scaring me is that the stock firmware have a lot of files like:
AP, BL, CP, CSC, HOME_CSC
My questions are:
1) May I have to flash every files (obliviously each on related Odin sections)?
2) Normally I flash only the AP related file (like in custom roms) and I was able to restore the MM6 nandroid backup. What about if I flash every files on stock rom? Will I be able to restore the MM 601 backup?
Thank you
Lucas

N910C EFS partition is ?corrupted? Not a single ROM boots. In dire need of help.

Everything was fine until I flashed CM13 unofficial.
Now, my bootloader is updated to 6.0 (COJ5 something or COH4), I can't revert to something prior to that: odin fails at sboot.bin NAND write start fail.
-While this issue has occured to many others than me, I'm the only one who can't even boot into CM13 or AOSP based ROMs, even after pushing different variants of ROMs several times through ADB, bootloops are still persistent.
-Any other 5.1.1 Official ROM that's not COJ5 or COH4 fails to flash at odin. COJ5/COH4 ROMS flash succesfully, but the phone doesn't boot past the samsung text.
-I have tried flashing various COH4 ROMS along with their AP,BL,CSC etc, everything flashes succesfully apart from the bootloader file, and after that it's the same samsung text brick. I couldn't find the PIT files (bootloader csc n such) for COJ5..
Is there a place I can find a backed up EFS partion ?file? and restore it myself? Would this get me out of the****hole i'm currently in?

Yea i came across this, but there was one tiny problem
how on earth am i supposed to root, get busybox, and apply usb debugging on my phone while it has no functional ROM?
and how on earth am i supposed to transfer a backup from my ROMless phone?
Do you have a pit file for repartition
If so, access twrp , wipe everything including your internal storage. Then boot into download mode.
In the computer, load the pit file and your stock coj5 into Odin 3.10 , tick "repartition" and "Nand Erase All"then click start.
Back to your phone - which now should be boot looping - access the stock recovery and wipe. Root - try using a different root method like chainfire's Odin autoroot - then twrp ur phone. Flash cm13 then start running the steps I threaded ( [fix] note 4 exynos bootloop problem ...... )
PM me for what you get

TWRP flashable stock firmware?

I'll be going on a trip next month and I'd like to have some assurance that I can reflash the stock Sammy ROM onto my device if I need to.
I've always done it through ODIN (unless it was a custom firmware), but are there custom recovery flashable stock ROMS out there? I won't have access to a full PC while I'm away.
Or is the best option to just nandroid my device instead?
Thanks.
Backup better

Twrp it's one of the best custom recovery...u can flash the tar file with odin.
Remember to make your backup (efs also)if you would like to turn to your stock rom u can do it anytime with Odin.

US Cellular Galaxy S5 [SM-G900R4] Stock TWRP Backup?

Is there any way to find TWRP backups? From my understanding, the only difference with them and a stock rom is that they contain an update script so they can be flashed without odin.
I accidently deleted mine a long time ago and I can't use any of the stock roms I find online because of that

Downgrading from CM 14 Nougat to stock TW 5.0 lollipop???

Sorry if I'm posting in wrong section actually I'm a newbie
Hi all, I've updated my Note 3 SM-N900 to Cm 14 nougat 7.1.1 unofficial lonage os by ha_3g. Now i want to go back to my stock Twiz 5.0 lollipop, is it possible I've all my rom backedup by TWRP. Can i restore my backup without any problem?
Thanks in advance
nah, usually i just flash my firmware using odin without backup
Usually if you want to revert back to stock firmware, everything will be removed, including your custom recover(TWRP in this case), miscellaneous files and folders that were previously on your custom ROM. So, in summary, you won't be able to recover your backed up apps/data as TWRP will get wiped out as well, being replaced by the stock Samsung recovery.
Yep, wipe system, data, cache & dalvik then restore your backup.
Before updating I've backed up my stock Twiz rom via TWRP, now i just want to revert back to my Stock rom which was lollipop 5.0. I'm afraid bcz I've seen some where that we cannot install 5.0 (lower version) over 7.1 (greater) version it will brick the phone bcz of some bootloader issues, btw I've not messed up with bootloader, so plz advise me if it will be safe or not.
Lot of Thanks for the members of the forum who replied in no time & who r ready to help. Salute to all of u. you people r great
Only a stock firmware flashed with Odin can upgrade your bootloader.
And the latest official firmware for Note 3 is Lollipop 5.0.
So your bootloader still 5.0 even if you flashed a nougat rom.
Even more, custom roms don't touch bootloader or modem partitions, ever.
Go ahead
Hey bro. Just go to sammobile.com and download your rom and flash via Odin. Only Odin can downgrade your BL and Modem
Thanks alot for the clarification I'll go ahead now.
I can swap between 7.1 Nougat and 5.0 stock, with no issues, through my nandroids.
If you had a nandroid before, you shouldn't have any issue just using the TWRP function to restore your backup. It will be exactly as you had it before.
The only difference will be that you will still have TWRP installed, etc.
Anyways, you can swap back and forth as much as you like. You don't have to wipe anything, or use Odin, since you made a nandroid already.
Yes you can go back to lollipop . I have done that in my sm 900 exynos version. marshmallow and nougat drains battery

Is there any method to convert stock firmware to TWRP flashable zip?

Here is a long story. Please read carefully before reply.
I have SM-G955N which is for South Korea. Also I have latest stock firmware that can be flashed with Odin. It has AP, BL, CP, CSC. With this firmware, I can recover from almost every problems(including bootloop) because these files have everything that my S8+ should have, even PIT file.
As you know, modifying stock firmware is very dangerous and you don't know what would happen if you delete/modify certain file.
You might think 'Hmm... I think it is completely not related to system or samsung so maybe I can delete this' but you can get bootlooped. I even got bootlooped by only deleting DioDict which is just dictionary app!
I think It would be much easier to recover from bootloop when I have flashable ZIP file that is pure stock firmware.
Maybe you can say 'Just use TWRP backup feature!' but I can't trust TWRP backup feature now.
When I flashed stock firmware with Odin and right after(after solving KG State thing), flashed TWRP. Then I should have pure, clean stock firmware because I didn't touch anything about system except recovery(TWRP), right? I backupped whole system except Cache because It has 0 MB size.
After I got bootloop while modifying system, I restored that backup but still got bootlooped. That's why I can't use TWRP backup as fallback plan. I can't trust it 100%.
There are few 'Kitchen' scripts but I think they only handle AP files. When I tried to use SuperR's Kitchen Free, I used stock firmware file(tar.md5) and didn't do any modification. After I made flashable ZIP file with it and flashed it with TWRP, I've got bootlooped because It didn't have critical CSC files that system needed.
I think the Kitchen can't handle CSC well even though It is critical. 'Donate' would be last resort.
I've found batch script that convert S9 stock firmware to flashable ZIP (at GItHub, 'harise100/S9-Stock-ROM-TWRP') but I don't think It can cover S8+ files. In the scripts, it requires some files that S8+ firmware don't have. Maybe I should play with that script to fit with S8+ but It will take a lot of time which I don't have much.
Any good idea or information about converting stock firmware to flashable ZIP file?
