Is there any way i can shorten the time that long press+endkey takes to lock my htc 3g? I'd like to have 1 sec, not 2 or 3..
i found in HKCU\software\htc\longpressendkey that changing the value you change the function (es 1=airplane mode, 2= lock, and so on), but nothing about the lenght..
cheers everyone!
I dare to say that NO. You cannot shorten it. This sucks big time. I am using a hardware key mapper to assign one of the volume keys to lock the device instead. And there is a REALLY great 3d party locking app out there called Pocketshield. It is cheap and perfect and the latest v3 beta looks even better. All the updates for this app are almost always very handy. This is self-initiative promotion. It REALLY IS GREAT!
Why not use this customised method.. one tap >> locked instantly

Then it wouldn't be globally accessible. You need to get to that screen to click that

In that sense, yes you are correct. I apologise for putting a bad option.

Come on no need to apologize... I just mentioned it. BTW maybe someone likes to have the homescreen always there
You can use CSDEVCTRL.
I set it to lock after 10secs of idle time, or right after I press the power button.
So many other options available. Ref: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=386451
Come on guys - s2u2 is simply the best! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=527523
And no danger in pressing the button in your pocket to unknowingly unlock your phone.
thanks guys, I'll check out one of those and ii'll tell you what suits better for me!

Well no doubt about it: s2u2 takes the cake!
New radio + SPB3 + s2u2 = Jade GALORE!
Thank you for your suggestions!
After unlocking my phone with my password, it goes immediately to my phone keypad. How do I change it to go immediately to my home screen instead? I've searched through my settings multiple times and in the user guide and have searched online and I can't find anything. Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks in advance!!

Sorry to sound dumb, but ... I have no clue. How can I find out?
When swiping the lockscreen do it in the center, if you swipe close to the left it will trigger the phone shortcut and it will launch the phone app

Hello
Is it possible for a notification to wake screen automatically when locked? I had this feature on my last phone (Huawei p9) and I would like it on this device.
Thanks

It is possible with third party app. I use Glimpse Notification and it does the job perfectly.
I see it sometimes when I pull my phone out of my pocket. I have no idea which combination of buttons/screen taps/ or whatever I'm doing to make it appear.
It's an LG memo app that came with the phone. If you double tap volume-up, it starts, bypassing the lock screen. I'm pretty sure you can change this in settings.
BTW, if you double tap volume-down, the camera app starts, bypassing the lock screen. THIS is very useful!

Thanks!
You can disable the memo app if it bothers you or you have no need for it.
Can the VOLUME UP shortcut be remapped?

That is the built-in screen capture. You may have been accidentally pressing the screen capture key. I can't remember anymore which one is the default, because I have re-assigned it somewhere else. You have the option to save it as image in Gallery app or the Quick Memo app.

awesome! Thanks, again!
Anyone else experiencing this? Just a quick, single, black flicker when unlocking, happens with both PIN and FP.
[UPDATE - SOLVED]
The solution for me, and a few other users, was to open Samsung pay to re-authenticate the fingerprint.
If you've recently set up FP, or added a new FP at any point, Samsung Pay will ask you when it opens to authenticate to true it up.
Once I did this, no more flickering. Thanks everyone!

Blame the superfast processor for it, when you open your phone w/fp there is a momentary flash of your lock screen it goes so fast that you can't even tell.
If you want to test my theory then put some more pronounced, bright colored lock screen wallpaper, red or shiny green and you'll see it in the blink of your eyes while turning your phone on.
Did you disable or speed up animations?

My UI 'reduce animations' switch is OFF, but I always keep the animation in dev. options at .5x(windows,transition,duration)

I think I know what you mean, I get the same on .5x, it's definitely just skipping some frames to get past the animation faster, if you set it back to 1 it goes away.

I did have animations set to .5x in dev options, but setting it back to 1x didn't affect it.
The phone unlocks and I see my home screen for .1 second, then it does the super quick black flash, then home screen again.

I can't help, but I know what the problem is and Samsung can definitely fix it.
If you unlock the phone while the lock screen is on you won't see any flickering, it only happens when you unlock from screen off/aod, it should go straight to the home screen at this point, but it goes through the lock screen for 0.1s instead.
Here's a GIF of the flicker: https://gph.is/g/ZO3dRgZ

Changed lock screen to plain black, left wallpaper, still doing it, weird.
I guess I'll try a factory reset at this point. It's quite annoying and makes it seem kinda unpolished.

It could be a Snapdragon only issue, try asking other Americans about it.
I made a slowmo gif showing how mine unlocks:
I have the Snapdragon and this is not happening to me...
