Is it possible to add shortcuts to the Edge menu for making a Whatsapp call or opening a certain Whatsapp conversatio? As I don't really use GSM phone calls or SMS messages at all, I use a lot of Whatsapp and shortcuts to my most important contacts would be awesome to have on the Edge panel menu

There is an app called "WhatsEdge Panel" which should do what you want.
You can choose for every contact on that panel
Message and call
Only message
Only call

Hello,
Q1) There are only 3 alarms available in Windows Mobile 6.5. Does anyone knows how to add more?
Q2) Also, I remember when i was using HTC Touch, when new SMS comes in, it appears on the screen and i was able to either 'hide' or 'open' the SMS. On HD2, when I set it to show new SMS, I can only hide it but I can't open it to read. Instead, I have to go through 'HTC Messages'. Does anyone knows how to have both options 'hide' (on the left) and 'open' (on the right) available when new SMS shows up?
Please see attached screenshots if I did not manage to explain well.
Appreciate all kind advice.
Many thanks in advance!
I've tries to add more entries in the registry to add more alarms, but apparently it doesn't work.
and I've no clue for the sms issue either.
does anyone have the same issues as me? any clues?
thanks.
galarm
i guess
indeed, I've read about all e good comments about it. in fact, I installed it 2 months ago, but I encountered problems like battery drains n missed alarms. I've since uninstalled. maybe this problem is not too common with other users, but it was a problem for me..
thanks for your suggestion though.
pTravel alarm?
Works well for me and no battery drain... also if you are on the lock screen you can tap the open widget then swipe the sms widget and it opens sms screen or if you tap on the task bar it will give you the list of things to look at and one of them is the messages screen...
For the SMS, why not just turn off on-screen notification. When you get an SMS you'll get the usual audio/vibrate alert, and an icon in the taskbar. You can then just click on the SMS tab icon at the bottom and you're looking at the SMS. 1 click and you're there.
For the alarm question... there's a registry setting for this, but I don't know what it is. If you use BsB Tweaks you can enable "Windows Notifications" mode which "Enables dismiss X time in notification". This is a crap description and I used to just ignore this option as it sounded completely uninteresting. Then I found out what it is.
With this enabled, you get the option to select a sleep time for an alarm when it's going off (see the attachment). I doubt my boss would be impressed if I chose the last option though
It will at least free up your second alarm as you could just snooze the first one for 10 minutes.
I am also interested in the being able to open an sms from the notification dialog...
On Q1: I've been using SPB Time since quite long time. The new edition 2.1.2 is really awesome. And it answers to your question
On Q2: When I receive sms I have sound + icon above on the taskbar. So if I click on the icon - "notification" window opens and after another click on new sms icon you see your sms. Just you pay one click more.

It would be nice if on the notification "balloon" you had a Reply button that would automatically open the thread where that sms is in...

indeed, i remember this option to open sms on notification used to be available in older wm versions. and we could also dismiss instead of hide the sms.

Hello guys!
My first post on this forum, please excuse me if this has already been covered, but I don't see it anywhere..
The sms preview screen is driving me nuts... I always click on "All messages" to see threaded view...
Is there any way to mod the phone so it just goes STRAIGHT to "all messages" in threaded mode when you click on the text messages icon?
Are there any cab files available for the issue? I don't see a way to disable it right on my phone out of the box...
Many thanks!!!
BTW. I'm talking about the simple black screen with white font that pops up when you move the slider on the home screen to "Messages".
That black screen is so freaking annoying!!!
Bump, Anyone?
well....
well i dont know of a way to make the tab go straight into all messages, but you could uncheck the show messages tab in settings=personalize home tabs and just add a shortcut for messages to your homescreen
DUDE!!! That was one of those things that was right in front of my face but I didn't see. Excellent call. It's an even easier way to get into messaging than what I was trying to get.
Cheers!
i use CHT so i disabled the tab and set the defualt messaging client to the message icon in my start menu

Maybe a basic question but is there a way to add a "Delete" button to the Galaxy S5 SMS notifications in the notification drawer? It's nice that they show me the quick reply button and forward, but I want a delete button too.

Bumping up old post. I got the latest S10+ and still this basic functionality is missing. I wonder what it is the blocker for giving a "delete" from notifications? Since we moved to messages apps like whatsapp, most of the SMS are only spam or notices from banks etc for transactions. They can easily be deleted without even reading it.
Is there any watches over here that supports actionnable notifications? With tasker or any other app? Tha k you for any solution/answer/propositions.
Any watch that takes notifications can receive them from Tasker it's just a case of adding it to the software's list of notification apps.

But can you do actions from the notifications? You know when you have button that you can push on your notifications to do actions, reply to a sms for exemple or like a facebook message. ect

No, you can't add functionality in that way. Somebody posted this link http://www.abidibo.net/blog/2015/04/01/how-get-best-your-u8-smartwatch/ a while ago about using special phone numbers to trigger actions on your phone, probably as close as you'll get.
Hello,

Samsung, should have thought about this before offering always on display. I mean, we check for what is sent and if I have to always touch my device for every notification then, what is the purpose? A clock?
Disa wants me to remove the Whatsapp app! Of cause I am not willing to do that, for It might remove the conversations.
So, I could not test it.
It will show AOD notifications only if also used for SMS?
Yes.
What is the extent of the notification ? Only a symbol or some text?

You can backup all your convo's in whatsapp also so its a easy restore if you want to install it again.
