Theme changes via ADB commands? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions & Answers

I was reading a thread about the Galaxy S8 where you can force custom colors for the navigation bar (since it has one) instead of using the preset colors available. I know there are a lot of undocumented commands and settings on every device, including the S7.
So, does anyone know if it is possible to custom "theme" your phone by issuing ADB commands and directing the theme engine indirectly?
More generally, is there any way to find all the settings the phone allows you to modify via ADB?

How Do I Disable The Navigation Bar on Oreo?

Dear Sirs
It has been almost 2 years since I got my Nexus 6P, and I always disable the navigation bar for a better usage. Before Oreo I added 'qemu.hw.mainkeys = 1' on Build Pro file via root file explorer. But it no longer worked, If I did, the system will collapse and I have to reflash the system. So is there any new way to disable the navigation entirely on Oreo.
Many thanks.
Best Regards
ChaoChao
I am interested in auto hiding the nav keys. I had a method that worked, but had phone replaced last week, and the upgrade to OREO. I had tried using the adb command:
adb shell settings put global policy_control immersive.navigation=*
But this command returns an error about Failed executing settings. ''
I have tried Tiles, but that has some annoying lag.

Try issuing the command
adb shell settings list global
to see if that setting still exists.

In android 8.0 (oreo),i am unable to hide soft keys using "qemu.hw.mainkeys=1".since after this my phone starts doing data factory reset, next time it boots.
I tried immersive mode but soft keys alwayas pops up while using keyboard.
Also tried themer.zip from some xda link,it does hide the soft keys but swipe at bottom where softkeys are seems laggy while performing swipe action in LMT launcher.
There's an app called custom navigation bar, you can try it out, after you did your setup you can even uninstall it.
i install custom navigation bar app,but it failed compatibilty test, what to do now???
I dont want to hide the nav bar. I want to completely disable it so it wont pop up at all anywhere. I'll be using swipe navigation.

Help- split screen Android 7.1.2!!

Hey folks!
I just bought 10.1 Android screen with GPS running Android version 7.1.2, processor type: Ultra Octa-T8
my question is:
How to split the screen (running two apps simultaneously )? Is there any app can do the split?
Thanks in advance,
Android7 supports split screen by default, so no special application is needed.
BUT Since T8's firmware has freeform mode enabled, you can not use split screen unless it is invalidated.
If you can use ADB, you can override freeform mode with the following syntax
adb shell delete global enable_freeform_support
But stock firmware will not be able to use ADB.
I would like to know if there is a good way...

That's right buddy. In freeform mode you can use it immediately in stock ROM.
But its function is not quite useful in car stereos.
If you can disable free form mode it should be possible to use split mode.
But I am not a developer, nor is it familiar to Android.
I think that it is better for you to come to this thread for better advice.

Updating to One UI mistake - please help

Hi all,
I had previously used an ADB command to remove my navigation and use swipe gestures instead.
I remember typing this following command into terminal on Mac:
adb shell wm overscan 0,0,0,-168
Now I've updated my phone to One UI, and my phone is no longer functioning correctly. My keyboard is not showing the spacebar, and I have no idea how to reverse the above command.
I really need help with this, preferably explained simply as I'm not tech savvy at all.
Thank you all!
Try the command:
adb shell wm overscan 0,0,0,0
Alternatively you can try:
adb shell wm overscan reset
Should restore you back to default
I assume you were reading from this thread here?:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/how-to/remove-oreo-navbar-completely-t3772217
You can also just use the XDA navigation gesture app or gesture control app from the play store to accomplish what you wish to do.

Working solution for modding now the CSC files without having root via sideload/usb ?

Hi.
May i ask if someone can provide a WORKING solution to modify without rooting via methods like sideload, usb debugging and adb a working method to replace the existing
CSC Files to have some important features back without triggerung any samsung modify checkings when the rest of the system still untouched.
To prevent here huge manual shell typings, is there still a working "gui" based "commander" which can speed up such operations, which is still working with Android 10 ?
The existing Solutions are mostly from 2013-2016 and Android 5-7.
It looks like it needs much more time for a working twrp solution or updated magisk method comes out, so i donĀ“t talk about a root solution, just a solution to easyly debloat a little bit and make nessassary
changes on my actualy running CSC settings.
Further more i have the question is there any working "hidden" dial-code for using the IMS settings system app without having root. The IMS-Settings App is another great solution to fix local problems
with VoWifi and VoLTE without the need of modify CSC files. Whatever works. Or can i start the IMS Settings via a adb command to just make one time manual nessassary changes ?
Such things are nessassary when you use Dual SIM from different countrys and you use just one CSC set from the primary country. This results in not correct setted VoLTE/VoWifi Settings for the 2nd Card, to have it basicly working in Roaming when the priority and Data-Mode is changed to the 2nd slot. In the past i overcome this issues by creating a custom CSC for the ENTIRE DACH-Region where i include any Provider from any country without the need to change the CSC code later.
Actualy the A51 is heavyly bloat-overloaded and many of the samsung bloat it is not possible to "deactivate" completly with the usual on board features. like Bixbly completly....

Yes it's definitely possible, there's several threads for it.
In short you need to enable engineer mode
There's more than one way to do this, for me *#808# is the best option
[GUIDE] Access color-filter through command shell
I'm running on the 10.5.10.IN11BA build. Just get a command shell to your OnePlus 8 Pro through adb, no need for the device to be rooted or anything. Once you get there, just type: am start -n...

The above is a command that can be run that invokes the option too
