I'm pretty sure that device tree is needed for compiling from source. If I am correct then that's not possible because Ivan is the only one who has it

If you don't have the skills to find the link to download the kernel, then it's better for you not to install it.
Installing kernel means messing with very low level of the software of your phone so you must really understand what you are doing.
One of the step in understanding what you are doing is finding the right thread for the right kernel and reading it carefully.

Well said mate :good:
I'm building LineageOS for core33g using remilia15 repositories. It built successfully, but during the build, there is something that makes me thinking:
using prebuilt boot.img from BOOTABLE_IMAGES...

And after installing the build product (the zip file), the phone stops at Samsung logo (the ones with the powered by Android logo) with an asterisk. What should I do to build this ROM without problems?
Hey man. Thanks for doing this. Maybe our devs @Dreamstar and @[email protected] can help you.

Oh, I see. BTW, I still have to stop my build since there are some problems about Gello. But maybe I will reverse some commits.
Just in case you didn't know.

Let`s wait some time :highfive:
(Edit: Poster above posted a dangerous link and didn't even apologize or note his edit once pointed out)
So you post an unofficial clickbait site that has absolutely no knowledge or authority on anything regarding future Lineage releases?
Did you even check the date of that article?
People can brick their phones following that awful site. Delete that post.
If we get Oreo it will not be stable first , we must wait a little longer untill stable releases ~1/2 month(s) or more

Thanks to @mustang_ssc for the links
Well LineageOS already have LOS15 branch for Bacon. So no we won't get Oreo, sorry guys

Maybe i am wrong but AFAIK that is not the source code. I see a PGP key, some mk files, scripts and similar files for compilation tasks but nothing about the source code itself.
Oh cmon.. We have to get custom Oreos
still not confirm that it will support 32bit devices?

It made sense until the guy above edited his post without any notice.
He linked a fake Lineage site while passing it off as the real deal.

On the link you posted i can only see the "build" folder, which is used to execute the compilation. This folder, automatically downloaded when you download the source of a rom such as RR, Slim or LineageOS, it contains as i mentioned you scripts and similar files to execute the compilation.
I googled a bit and found it has been released:
https://android.googlesource.com/platform/manifest (branch "android-8.0.0_r4")
This is the repository that contains the whole source code for Oreo.
So yep, we have Oreo source code, so now it would require to adapt our device tree and other specific repositories for our device for Oreo. It would not surprise me if someone successfully compile an Oreo build for our device in a very short time, like it happened with Nougat
We have android O since its preview. A developer of 1+1 had built successful. But its preview so appearance look like android N only code name. So believe me, we will get it soon. Btw you can see mi3 has it now, so no reason why 1+1 cant have it. Google slogan: "Don't be evil"

Actually,not porting but a 'tailor-made' lineage-16 for F1S.
I am making preparations for the linux kernel upgrade accompanying the Android version upgrade which may will take a long time but is essential.

I'm using the stock marshmallow firmware rooted via magisk v23 but failed to pass safetynet.
Successfully installed Dolby Atmos and viper4fx and xposed for hiding red statusbar.
