Are there any roms that actually work on the g550t1?
Reborn boots but has camera and sound issue. Guessing has something to do with kernel.

No sound issue is due to a missing lib file from stock, ive used SuperStarz with minor issues until I started trying to play with TB too much.
Yes, whenever the camera boots it says "Warning: Camera Failed". This needs to be figures out, and I have no clue what to do.

Hey All,
On 2.2 now and they changed the USB mass storage interface a little.
When I plug the phone in, it connects fine. I can put files on the SD card etc.
If I click the "Turn off" button to turn off USB storage on the phone, it crashes the phone (just freezes up and sits there, the progress indicator won't even spin).
I have tried unmounting the phone in windows too first of course and it won't help. Just unplugging the cable seems to work but then it thinks its still connected.
Anyone have any ideas? This definitely was fine pre-2.2
I get the same. First time I've had to do a pull the battery restart on the N1 :/
Yes pulling the battery is the only way to restore the phone i've tried it a dozen times and it seems to be a serious problem.
I think this started after applying the CM root mods... I am using the kernel .34 version and I am having the same issue. I was running without this mod for a while and didn't have this issue, so either it's related to the root mod or it's some weird issue that doesn't show itself until something else happens.

I also have the .34 kernel from CM for root.
It's definitely the CM root mod.
Yeah its been confirmed on that thread. Known issue I guess.
This thread needs a bump!
this is a well known issue with .34 kernals
just apply CM's root mod stock kernal, and it will work fine
all .34 kernals have this problem and im sure lots of people are looking into it.
Yes there is a workaround if its really bugging you, revert to an earlier 33 or stock kernel (I did).
Hey guys, I flashed the file for the Captivate camera and it works taking pictures and all but the camcorder force closes on me no matter what resolution I try to record at. I also have tried flashing the stock one included in the thread and still the same problem with camcorder.
Any help please? I have the phone set up how I like it and would really rather not reflashing the whole thing.
Two months and nothing? I made the mistake of flashing the Captivate camera and now the camcorder won't work even after flashing back to stock, reflashing several different kernels. Does it mean complete reflash?

That's a known problem with the captivate camera firmware. However flashing the stock camera and firmware apks should fix it as that's how I've always fixed that error. Try pulling those out of another build and installing them again.
You can try this zip, it's clockwork flashable. It has worked for me in the past but received mixed results with others. This is for 2.2, not sure if it'll work with 2.2.1 or higher. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10952849/Camera-Stock-signed.zip
Yeah, Captivate Camcorder doesn't work with our phones, and just causes FC's. Best thing to do would just be to use the stock camera, since there's no different camera firmware for our phones except for the one on CM7.
Hi
I'm currently trying to complete the task of finishing up this port of the Google Play edition ROM. As it stands it has a few bugs that I'm interested in fixing; primarily MTP and Chrome crashing. Data drops as well, as I noticed I have god awful signal for no significant reason; but I believe that can be fixed by flashing the 4.3 modem as suggested in the actual ROMs thread..
The issue is I have no idea where to look or what to change to try and get these working again. I tried moving over the MTP libs from a stock 4.4.2 Samsung ROM to no avail. Not sure if I'm missing something very obvious or if libs are actually the wrong direction and it's maybe a system apk that's causing it to not function properly. I also have no idea what could be causing Chrome to FC..
Any input/suggestions about how to fix this would be great. Thanks!

I tried logcat but it never gave me any error when I plugged my USB in. I'm not sure if this was an error on my part or if the issue is actually computer-side, but that wouldn't make sense since USB Debugging works properly
So i just woke up, opened my Snapchat, to realize my camera is really dark, and i mean really dark. Unless i point the camera at a light source i can't see anything, just black. The weird this is that it's the same story inside the camera app, and even the front facing camera. Both of the cameras are really dark, i've tried delting the cache, rebooting, wiping my phone, and installing Cyanogenmod again, only to see the same **** over and over again. Any tips on how i can fix this?
Facing the same issue. When in capture mode it's dark and video mode it's completely bright. I am using the 11/18 NitrogenOS with CameraNX4.1 Fix.
Same. On npf10c, started immediately after flashing the pixel navbar fix through FlashFire. Wiping cache didn't do anything.
I have the exact same problem. I'm on 11/18 nitrogen OS as well. It was perfectly fine when I first flashed the ROM but after a day it went dark. If anyone has a fix please let us know
So recording video is broken, it gets super BRIGHT, but for some reason taking a picture with flash on fixes the problem temporarily. Otherwise though this is persistent.
Just got this Nexus and the camera was working fine. I'm on preview with French fk.. last night it just went dark after working fine. Funny it started at the same time
I flashed the NDB91K vendor and it fixed my black camera issue. You get the security message on boot, but the camera is working fine for me
Having the same problem here. Already tried wiping cache, reflashing vendor and dirty flashing Nitrogen. I am on 11.18 Nitrogen release. So far nothing seems to fix it.
Identical problem. I JUST flashed the stock boot.img and it fixed the problem. Going to re-root and flash elementalx and will report back.
yeah flashing the previous vendor fixes the issue. Not sure why that caused the problem
God ****ing dammit I just realized why this may have been happening to me. Franco is not currently supported for 7.1.1. And a user on reddit I spoke to said he was using flash while on 7.1.1.
That's probably what's causing this issue.
Kill me.
Even with fk installed I was able to use the camera just fine.... I ran on it for a couple of weeks even on dp
Running the 11/18 build of Nitrogen OS with banks GApps and having the same issue. Clean flashed. Flashing the latest image fixed it.

Using Franco R37 with 7.1.1. No issues here :fingers-crossed:
Same here
Damn it. I just installed the pixel XL ROM and I'm getting dark camera and bright video. This is like way after the original poster too. How come no fix?
The problem still persists , i got the same issue and that too after opening snapchat , i really don't know what to do, any help , how can i get back to old kernel again?
Do you try flash other rom?
Does anyone have a link for the vendor image?
Sent from my Pixel XL using XDA-Developers Legacy app
I am on stock rom and rooted using the Super SU method. The only things I've flashed are the wifi fix, and edited build.prop to unlock tethering. My camera app will not open, and I get this error every single time. Doesn't work in instagram, snapchat, nothing. Anyone know what may be causing this?
Anyone? I would really like to get my camera working again
had the same problem today. restarted the phone and it worked again

I've restarted several times even gone so far as to install a new OS. I'm thinking about undoing the changes just to fix this.
Try booting in Safe mode

Camera still doesn't work
your cam may be disconnected from the motherboard. try claiming warranty
Wiped and installed the AOKP ROM and that fixed it.. Could've been the ROM or could've been the wipe, although I wiped several times before and it didn't fix it.
did you get the error again?
I had the same problem and I installed AOKP rom which fixed it at the beginning but after less 1 day the error back again.
now I'm on stock rom .35 (rooted with Magisk) and no camera error so far after 4 days
As far as i know, it is due to custom kernel, you may have installed that.. try flashing stock rom without any custom kernel..

yes, I had custom kernel first time I got the error.
but then I got it also with custom rom.
now I'm on stock rom and stock kernel....but does it mean that I can never flash custom rom/kernel because of that error?

Custom roms do not have that error... and on stock rom you can use elementalX 2.0 , it is made for the .67.. so the camera issue is resolved.. i think this will help
I had this error on Stoneware .67 (stock based ROM) and resolved it by dirty flashing Stoneware and Magisk v.13 again.
and I had this error also on AOKP rom
I have been having this problem on the Stock ROM, non-rooted, for quite some time now. I have no idea what's causing this error. When I open it sometimes, it just throws an error. If I close it and open it again, it works as it should. It's very annoying.
I had the same thing, flashing roms didnt fix it so i flashed stock via RSD lite and everything was back to normal.
Same issue here, completely stock unrooted. This is not the first Android device I've had that's struggled to connect to the camera consistently... how hard can it be?
Can people getting this error try to disable the image stabilisation in video mode please? One of the errors I see when downloading a bug report refers to the stabilisation code and I've not had the "please restart camera" message since switching it off. Could be coincidence though as it's not like I get it every time the camera loads...
Hello ,
I tried rooting my Moto G5 using Moto G5 toolkit (flashing superSU). t
Then I flashed TWRP and Flashed the WLAN_CUSTOM
Now i get that generic warning screen of unlocked boot loader however My phone is not rooted. and I cant open camera at all , getting error as " Camera Busy - Camera unable to start. If this happens again, please power off your phone and restart."
Can someone help me fix this camera issue? or just help me to revert back as it was previously no root nothing, I guess this TOOLKIT has some bugs in it.
Any help will be appreciated as I am newbie with this android development.
