Hey!
I just got my new OnePlus 5 (upgraded from OnePlus One)
Well there were few things that i liked and would like to ask about
Is there a custom roms that have the same camera app? (Not based on OOS)
I just unlocked, rooted and changed the recovery, where can i find the stock files?
How much SOT do you get by using this phone?
I would like to use Substratum theme engine... is it possible?

Check out XXX NoLimts ROM. It's a custom OOS ROM and go ahead use lighting kernel OOS with it. You will get excellent SOT and yes, it uses the stock camera app.

You could dirty flash sure, I personally wouldn't. It uses the AROMA installer which allows you to debloat all the BS on STOCK OS. Substratum I can't confirm nor deny. I would suggest checking out the forum.

Substratum works. Blue only if compatible with Oxygen OS. Like Ozone and Swift Black. Also if you experience crash just flash substratum legacy zip
I can confirm Substratum is working. I am using Ozone & Swift Black and it looks amazing. No issues thus far.

The builds are only weekly builds, but its the first official.
You can find it on their download page:
OmniRom find7op Downloads
Includes:
January Security Patches
OTA
Other Features from Unofficial Builds
Edit:
Cause some people dont seem to know
Omni doesnt use Bacon as device Name
It is find7op (op = oneplus)
find7 would be the build for Oppo Find 7
Screenshot?
Does the High Resolution mode (50 Megapixel) work with Bacon camera or ColorOS camera in this ROM?

Can't tell exactly, because im not using Android pay, but it should work as omni doesnt include root by default
Pay didn't work, but it was cool trying something else, booted fine. I used micro gapps. I'm back on CM, but its nice to know there are other ROMs. Is omni a fork of CM?

As omni is based on AOSP it is unrooted by default
PkmnGo should work, afaik.
Give it a try and tell us if it worked.

Led control, Qs custom tiles, navbar, custom power menu.
Go check on youtube Game Of Roms review on oneplus 3
Pokemon go doesnt work eventhough it doesnt come rooted nor has traces of root but the build is userdebug (think thats the issue)
Used nano opengapps.
And my banking app didnt worked so went back to my old MM rom...

Thanks for letting me know, it was worth to try it.
Custom kernels don't work without breaking camera or Wi-Fi (or both), we need the Omni version of Lightning kernel updated.
I am a newbie on Op2 device I want to root my Os and installing Xposed on it...i have lots of questions on it like Dose it properly Xposed work on it...?
I want to install few modules which are shorted below pls tell me if those three are working properly on OOS 3.5.6.

If u really like customizations on ur device i would recommend Resseruction Remix or AICP both have wide range of options..Yes i agree the camera is not proper...but u can always flash OOs camera zip which i do after installing any ROM to get the stock camera.. In fact the battery backup is better in both these roms and also they have a substratum theme engine

I've just come from Dirty Unicorns and Pure Nexus on a 6P, and I've loved substratum for theming my phone. But... OOS would be legacy, I understand. Has anyone tried Subs on OP5, any recommendations? I've also seen a Magisk module for making legacy systemless. Anyone tried it? I don't feel like boot looping my new phone!
Also if I'm just rooted, can I install themes like swift black?
Don't use Substratum on OOS, rooted or not, I tried it and ended up having to restore the backup I'd made after it caused all sorts of complications, my advice? Wait for the custom roms to start appearing.

Thank you for saving me all sorts of trouble.
I tried "Navigate" to configure the navbar. Works without issues. But i wouldn't apply system wide themes. Like @djsubterrain said.
With root you can apply themes system wide that support OOS (I think only swift dark and black right now)
I did and it's working fine, full black apps and system.
If you're paranoid then you can just theme apps and use built in themer to make system black or white.
Does anyone tried ozone substratum?
im rooted and with sustratum working fine, im using swift black and inversion themes.

Yeah... I was always able to theme via substratum on all of my rooted devices, including oneplus 3 on stock.
The thing is, you generally, (lie 99% of the time) should not theme system ui or android system as that almost always results in a bootloop.
This is with the exclusion of themes specifically designed for oxygen os like k clock and swift dark

Yes, that will do, I'm running that too. There is an option to enable OxygenOS 4 compatibility right under the logo. That will make sure that you have a compatible (a.k.a. none) SystemUI overlay

I'm running it right now, but i'm using it just for centered clock and to change the "4G" to "LTE" in the status bar.
No issues on my side so far.

I use it for centered clock, QS Tiles 4 icons and Clear All (tasks) button on the left.
No problem so far.
I'm using Valerie as the main theme, and Big Blu to fill in things that Valerie doesn't do.
Also, Ozone for center clock and QS 5.
Fontio works with a .ttf file (or choose one of the provided fonts) if you use the flashable zip option - in the settings there's a place to create a restore zip, so do that first in case. Both files will be put on your internal memory in a Fontio folder.
edit: I forgot that the power menu doesn't work with this setup, so I made my own with Tasker/GMD.

Stock has the same substratum support as freedom Os... It's the legacy layers theming, so if you root stock, it will work the same way. Just install the substratum app from the store and try out. ?
fully working here, rooted with magisk and substratum is ok with theming everything, but yeah, like above, power menu doesn't work and if pressed it soft reboot phone... resolved installing material power menu

...Soon™
I flashed Swift Dark theme for OOS using both root and rootless method via Andromeda and using either method the overlays seemed to create a very perceptible performance hit in certain apps which is something I never noticed on pre Oreo versions of Android. I'm curious what kind of experience other people have had flashing Substratum on the OOS Oreo builds.
First, there's no talk about "flashing" here.. You don't need to flash nothing... Then, i'm using swift dark and some other themes with open beta and they're working perfectly like they work in nexus oreo... No performance lag or hit.. I'm rooted with magisk

Ok I installed the overlays. After I did there was scrolling stutter in Play Store and Google App that wasn't there before. I didn't notice it in other themed apps. I'm using Magisk as well. Maybe the custom kernel I'm using has something to do with it. Are you using the stock kernel?

No, i'm on stock kernel, there's no custom kernel that satisfies me... Maybe you're using the wrong settings (stupid question ) are you using the swift dark for oxygen oreo? If yes have you tried to remove every layers and then re-apply it and then reboot?

Yes I chose Oxygen Oreo. I didn't try to remove the overlays and then reinstall them. I rebooted after applying the overlays and noticed the problem. Removing the overlays didn't fix it either--i had to dirty flash the ROM to get everything working right again. There was a popup warning when I opened Substratum suggesting that the rootless method would work better in Oreo. I bought the Andromeda app and applied the overlays the new way but I didn't notice any difference. I had the same scroll stuttering in the same apps. I guess it could be related to the fact that I'm using a custom kernel.

Hey all, currently using rooted OOS 11.0.1.1.IN11AA on OP8P and I've downloaded the Flux substratum theme that I used to use on OOS 10 without any problems. The Dev has mentioned that it is OOS 11 compatible. I have no issues with the system apps, but I get FCs on themed third party apps like Instagram, Youtube, Gmail, etc. Do you guys know of any work-around for this? I just thought it was strange that the system apps worked fine but not the third party ones. I tried applying overlays for those specific apps from another substratum theme that's meant for Android Q but they still FC'ed. This occurred in both light and dark modes.
Any help appreciated thanks!
Can you eliminate those said apps from theming?
I've been looking at substratum theming but was concerned about bootloops or a broken launcher/settings situation.

My understanding is that he is slowly adding better support for apps under 11. I'm using his Liv Dark theme and had the same issues as you for a while. Slowly but surely it's getting better with the 3rd party apps.
I would just turn it off for the apps that are force closing for now. Make sure you are using subs lite as well.

How can you boot twrp? In Android 11?? There is no twrp for OnePlus 8 Pro on 11.
You would have been forced to MSM or wipe your system
