Hi everyone, I've got phone that was purchased in Sweden in big chain but it has code A2017U not A2017G (at least it says so in About phone menu of installed LineageOS) Now, the phone has LineageOS and TWRP. I want to install stock rom but do not want to remove TWRP, how should I do it? Is there any latest stock zip that can be installed via TWRP? I couldnt find the download link. All I find suggests to flash stock recovery first and then stock rom, but I dont want stock recovery
Check on the bottom of back panel. LineageOS always shows A2017U. To install stock rom and keep TWRP you have to download right bootstack and one of the stocksystem zips, and flash Magisk afterwards.
I thought so about phone model, i there any other way to get model except the back panel? I have it debrand leather covered, anted to keep that too.

Hi, I have spent about 3-4 hours looking for a way to get my B29 firmware to Nougat.
The only problem is is that the update won't take because im rooted and have TWRP.
My question is what is the easiest and safest way to get my Axon back to full stock rom and recovery so I can then go ahead and download the OTA Nougat Rom? I love this phone and nougat would be killer
do these files help? which ones in which order do I use? i was thinking the B29 to B15 TWRP but I read that there wasn't one made yet.

I was on B29 (actually I had ZAD v3), Rooted and had TWRP installed.....These are the steps I followed. It takes you back to stock B29 with the stock recovery. Then you can take the OTA.
MAKE SURE you follow the first step in RED... Once you booted to TWRP , Tap Mount and Check "Mount, System as Read-only", this is very important ...I skipped that step and my updates kept failing, once I did that it worked.
I'd also recommend a factory reset once the Nougat update completes, or before setting up completely (using the stock recovery)
So my A2017U is bootloader unlocked and TWRP installed. Is there a way I could go back to the stock recovery as right now for all OTA's the phone won't properly install the update.
I've searched and noticed Draken posted one for A2017G B06-09, but not sure if I could use these.
thanks a ton!
Hi all. I'm currently using tron9's A2017G B09 (running Marshmallow) that I found here.
I really want Nougat but nothing seems to work. My findings
Using A2017G B09 Bootstack & A2017U B32 (Nougat) Stocksystem (Phone didn't boot)
Following this tutorial by thedroidguru (Method 1 didn't work, update wasn't recognized; Method 2 didn't work because it couldn't install zip file from TWRP)
I found these files on the ZTE website (Couldn't install zip file)
These files from this XDA thread (Tried installing B10 Marshmallow to move from B10 to B04 Nougat, couldn't install zip file via TWRP)
I found nothing. I just want Nougat. I'd really prefer the stock version but if there's no choice I'll take any popular ROMs. Anyone know how I can update?

I have 3 ways for you:
-Put your device on EDL, use MiFlash to install B06 (latest G system). You can find the package made by Turkdevs on the Guides section (latest stocksystems i think)
-Download MiFavor 5.0 from the ROMs, Kernels thread and flash it via TWRP. The one there is v2.0.0B06 but there were problems with v2.0.0B08 and Google stuff it may seem
-Get a stock recovery zip from raystef66's Download Center (you can use B09 or B10 recovery zip) then flash it via TWRP, then reboot and use the Settings-Updates option to flash the official zip.
You'll only retain TWRP on the 2nd one (MiFavor 5.0). And I believe it is FAR better than stock G firmware
DEAR ZTE CUSTOMER,
Pls inform us the exact version of your phone and your IMEI. According to your case, you are suggested to upgrade through SD card
So, due to my Pixel's battery life being atrocious I wanted to try LineageOS 14.1 and use my P9 Lite as a daily driver.
I started by downgrading to Marshmallow from Nougat as DC-Unlocker wouldn't work on 7.0 and I needed the bootloader unlock code.
( I used the firmware and tutorial from 4mobiles dot net, looks to be a polish one. )
Once on 6.0 MM I was able to get the code and unlock the bootloader, however, LineageOS and it's TWRP does not seem to work on 6.0 so I needed to upgrade to Nougat again.
Unfortunately, when I try the official update it says there are no updates available and any time I try to use the firmware finder app either the download fails or upon attempting install the phone reports a 'compatibility issue' and won't accept any firmware.
I tried loads of different update.zip files via the recovery update as well as through ADB. Nothing seems to work.
Finally I was able to get TWRP 3.0.2.0 on it, but again, only the version from 4mobiles dot net works. Other versions of TWRP just remove recovery altogether. (I guess they don't work with 6.0)
At this point it's a bit easier to try roms, but still none of 'em seem to work.
-I tried sideloading and manually installing lineageos 14.1 from the sdcard, it fails with ERROR CODE 7
(currently I'm stuck on the 'YOUR PHONE CAN NOT BE TRUSTED/BOOTLOADER UNLOCKED' screen, no splash but I can get into recovery and fastboot)
-Tried flashing boot.img and system.img of various OEM firmwares as well as LineageOS's manually through ADB, same result, bootloops
It seems to me that some other file makes the phone believe that it's incompatible with any of my roms. Maybe the firmware i got for 6.0 is region locked, or perhaps it's the vendor.img that I don't know how to flash?
I know it's a grave mistake but I didn't take a note on what my original version number was. It was the latest 7.0 Nougat EMUI 5.0 update on a UK based unlocked VNS-L21. The 6.0 MM I flashed on it with a rollback update was C900B300.
I tried the proxy method, custom DNS, and manual download on various roms in the Firmware finder app. Even when the download doesn't fail, the system always says the firmware is incompatible when I try to install.
Right now I could put 6.0 MM back on it and make it usable, but I doubt it would be much better than the 7.0 that was on it originally.
Can anyone tell me how I could put the original Nougat firmware back on it? eRecovery doesn't detect any possible updates.
Any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance!

use full update.zip from firmware finder. to upgrade, you can't use latest package. you must use first nougat update.zip.

I've only used Full-OTAs, no bugfixes. None of them seem to work.
Yesterday I tried manually selecting a different model in Firmware Finder;
VNS-L21C185 instead of the default VNS-L21C432-
and downloaded VNS-L21C185B397 update. It verified fine but I couldn't install it due to my recovery being TWRP and not the stock one. What I think I'll try is flashing the recovery of the original Marshmallow firmware that's currently on the system and seeing if it will install this update. I kinda doubt it will tho.
Any other suggestions?
Is there any way I can install a nougat TWRP without my current working firmware being on nougat?
If not, is there any way I can install a nougat firmware with TWRP 3.0.2.0? In order to flash update.zip / update.app files I need to get the stock recovery back, but I can't seem to be able to do that.
Is there any way I can flash a standard OEM Rom onto it with TWRP?

you can't install nougat TWRP in EMUI 4. you can install update.app with original recovery.
extract UPDATE.APP from update.zip
place UPDATE.APP to dload folder in sdcard.
press power button, vol+ and vol-
Hi,
is anyone running latest B20 Oreo rom on an A2017U phone with Magisk v25?
When I patch boot image and flash it via EDL the phone doesn't boot it, I have to restore original boot.img to be able to boot android again.
Also, fastboot is not available in the stock EDL images, any idea how to get fastboot back?
Thanks
Hi,
For first, I flashed some ROMs earlier in my life but it was like 5 years ago. I'm not expert in that field. That being said... I'm running B02 Oreo ROM on A2017G but i had the same problem. I managed somehow to find somewhere (can't remember which site) that "Magisk 16.4 should work because 16.0 version had some problems". So I tried 16.4 and it worked for me. Unfortunately data partition, although it shouldn't after root, stays encrypted (in TWRP).
Also, if You boot to system and open Magisk manager it will show You that update is available. After updating to the latest app version it will say that your version of Magisk is not supported now and You should update it (meaning, flashing latest zip). I didn't try it but assuming that earlier it didn't want to boot with the latest version on "Magisk-v25.1.zip" it won't at this time too.
It's so hard to find any information about this phone this day's... I would love if someone knew how to disable this encryption. I tried I think every solution and nothings seems to work :/
I hope I'm not late and my post will help You
