Does the Tab A 10.1 2016 have the "quick connect" feature? - Samsung Galaxy Tab A series Questions & Answers

I am interested in buying the tab A 10.1 2916 (t585) but I haven't clearly found yet if it has the ability to connect to TVs and devices without cables.
For example, I can connect my Samsung Note 5 to LG, Samsung tvs and so on, without any cables. My phone scans the area for compatible TVs and I can "quick connect", and either send my screen to the TV or view the TV on my phone.
Is this feature available on the Tab A 2016 t585?
Thank you

All Tab As has Quick Connect previous known as Screen Mirroring. In order to use Quick Connect without wireless HDMI adapter, your TV must be a Smart TV.

Thank you!
Is "quick connect" the same with "smart view" ?

Smart View is not the same as Quick Connect

Quick Connect only streams your tablet display to TV and nothing else

[Info] MHL / DLNA Experience with samsung PS50 Plasma TV

Hello peeps,
Me again sharing my experience with a friend's samsung TV.
The TV is a samsung 50+" Plasma TV, the model is PS50C something...
The tv is connected with Cat 5e cable to wireless N access point, and the SGS2 was connected via wifi to that AP.
I could easily use All share to show all my Full HD vids from the phone to tv in a matter of seconds. Had to approve the action once on the TV.
Also, I could play movies located on a dedicated DLNA server to the tv via the SGS2, i'm not sure if any data actually went via the SGS2, but I used it as a remote control to select content to be played on the TV. Worked flawless.
One last thing to share, MHL.
I connected the phone to the TV with the MicroUSB to hdmi converter, I have no MHL cable... And the TV recognized an MHL device - I then found out, much to my surprise that I could control the SGS2 with the TV Remote!!!
Was pretty amazing. Everything just worked.
Cya
Eitam.
Please list all the TV remote control buttons that worked with S2. Can you get the S2 menu and back functions to work? Just so we all know. Sounds really cool though.

TBH I can't answer that question cause I got annoyed with that remote very fast,
I used the arrow keys to cycle through the Icons on the homescreens, they appeared selected like windows xp style blue background, and I was able to click them to start stuff.
I didn't even try and look for android buttons...
I was just amazed it all just worked.

LG LM640s TV and N4 WirelessDisplay

I recently bought the LG LM640s TV, which has a WiFi-Direct and Wireless Screenshare option. The N4 connects just fine, the TV shows a message saying "Android XYZ connected", but I can't get it to display my phones screen.
I'm on xylon #18, and besides the connection over wifi-direct, there's an option in "Settings -> Display ->" like this.
Tried checking "Skip HDCP negotiation", didn't work either. The TV received an update like a week ago, didn't help :/
As much as I love this phone, I sometimes get frustrated that the standards it's pushing aren't available or working as intended (wireless charging, wireless display), even with hardware from the same manufacturer.
Did anyone manage to get this working with a similar TV?
i got the 55LM670T and it doesnt work, but i checked it out and although on the tv it says wireless display, it does say miracast, which is what the N4 supports, so i dont think our tvs support the miracast standard

If it's not working with the N4 and/or miracast - what is it working with?

you cant do that! your tv doesnt have the drivers to support the wireless lan adaptor... also your wireless Lan adaptor doesnt have some video output like miracast... so... your only option is to buy a chromecast or somenthing like that. :good:

You can do it.
first: after mounting the WIS12ABGNX Wireless Lan Adaptor to your tivi, you set Lan connection for it
then you turn on : Nearby Devices (In the setting) from your note and you samsung tivi requests to connect to your phone
then you play a video, and press the "Screen Mirroring" button on the stock video player
then you see 2 options, choose your tivi, and enjoy
Hello everyone , my name is Siddharth. I am new to this forum.
I was wondering if I could use Screen Mirroring feature on my Note 3 (SM-N900 , Exynos International model) to stream media wirelessly to a Sony Bravia 42-inch TV (Model: KL V-40S200A) with the help of a Tenda USB WiFi adapter (Model No. W311M).
The TV was brought in February 2008 so it's definitely not a Smart TV or has built-in WiFi. The dongle and was bought in August 2013 to the best of my memory.
It would really help if I could watch photos & videos shot from my phone without connecting those ugly two port MHL or even HDMI cables.

Screen-mirroring and Cast

I have recently purchased a LG Smart TV. It has all the bells and whistles like wifi , miracast etc etc. Is it possible for me to mirror my phone to the TV while playing games, and also cast my Cinemabox app to the TV (while watching shows). In simple words can i have same functionality of a Chromecast. The TV and phone will be connected to the same wifi router.
If it matters anyhow, the TV model is LG 55UF851T.

Noone has a solution??
Mirroring via the Miracast protocol doesn't require a wifi router, it's a direct wifi point to point connection.
The Chromecast can also work through a direct point to point wifi connection (guest mode).

My query is a bit different. Considering the TV has wi-di and miracast, isnt it possible to mirror the S7 screen to the TV. I need the same for casting my games etc. Is it possible to mirror a S7 screen to a LG Smart TV.
The answer is easy...
If any TV set supports Miracast the answer is yes.
However performance for games is a bit poor...

yes. it is possible. in fact, the function to mirror a smartphone screen to TV supporting Miracast has been there since at least Samsung S4.they have changed the name of the functionality a few times but the end result remained the same and different phone manufacturers have different name. Samsung called it Smart Connect now.
http://www.samsung.com/us/connected-devices/
I have tested it, if you need to know and it works fine.
I have the same problem. With my Axon7 I can cast YT directly or the whole screen trough Settings/Screen/Cast but with the S7 Edge I can't find such option. Any step by step guide?

Galaxy Note 3 Screen Mirroring with Amazon Fire Stick

I have looked at a number of different web pages on this issue. On both of my Samsung phones which I use as tablets I am having a problem. The Fire tv stick is able to be recognized on the screen mirroring section of the setting on the Samsung. However, when I tap the screen to mirror the device with the fire tv stick, it just keeps on trying to connect. It works fine with my mirroring with my amazon tablet but not with the android phones.
Any suggestions are more than welcome, thanks
