looking for testers on nougat - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions & Answers

I am looking for a tester with the grandfathered unlimited data plan to test if my tether bypass mod is working on my custom rom that I'm building. I am currently running the rom on my phone but don't have anyway to tell if that mod is working since i have the new unlimited data plan with tethering. The rom is based off of the QE1 firmware but you can be on any nougat firmware to test.

[Q] MIUI - WiFi not working.

OK so I'm running the latest MIUI from www.miuiandroid.com on a Galaxy S4 and my WiFI is not working. This has been the case for the last 3 or 4 updates, and I've just been living with it and minimizing Internet use on my 3G data plan.
I've been trying to get this fixed, I've tried flashing the NON-HLOS baseband package in Odin that matches the ROM, but that didn't work. I've tried flashing various modem packages, but that didn't work. I've tried the other MIUI distribution from en.miui.com but that had the same issue. I've tried talking to it nicely, but that didn't work. I'm not at a loss.
Surely this isn't a major problem? MIUI is a very popular ROM. It can't be that everyone using MIUI on a GS4 just foregoes WiFi, right?
Could someone point me to the instructions for getting WiFi to work on MIUI with the Galaxy S4? I would be eternally grateful.
Thanks,
- Naz.
You need to install a custom kernel to get the wifi working.

Verizon compatible custom ROMS

Hello there,
I was wondering if there are any available custom ROMS that work with Verizon 4G LTE and WiFi? Currently I am unable to connect to WiFi on my Moto X Pure after installing an Android 6.0.1 rom. I have not come across any custom roms that are guaranteed to work with Verizon so far, help is much appreciated, thank you.
Julie
Every rom I have ran so far have worked. Currently on AICP. I've used TruPure, Dirty Unicorn and Pure Nexus.
Did you turn on Enhanced 4G via the Moto hidden menu. The app "Advanced Signal Status" can get you to the menu too.
Make sure you are rooted and using franken kernel while on 6.0.1
Trupure here posted from the phone on vzw 4g....

Best Nougat or Marshmallow rom with VoLTE support (SM-G900W8) (klte/kltecan) ?

Hey guys, can anybody recommend me a custom rom which supports VoLTE and is based on Nougat or Marshmellow? I have SM-G900W8 (klte/kltecan). My operator is Jio and it only supports VoLTE calls! CM 13 does not support VoLTE and after configuring APN, I cannot use data connection (APN settings are correct). CM 14.1 help me use data connection but it also does not support VoLTE. In addition there are a lot of bugs in CM 14.1. Any help will be appreciated.
Galaxy S5 (SM-G900T)
For the past 4 years I haven't found any roms that carries Volte Which is very disappointing and very important when it comes to being on a call and using the web. For the past few month's I believed to try every rom that's available and no Volte which is ridiculous. However, I'm writing this post in gud hopes that this matter would be taken into consideration. PS Thanks!

Does flashing custom rom as lineage os or aicp activate VoLTE?

Plz explain guy, i kaafi wanna know after i flash custom is everything working fine? Which rom is best for Moto x style?
No... VoLTE works just fine on most ROM's including stock, unless your carrier is Jio, then it is not supported in the modem firmware (yet), your actual installed ROM is not relevant as long as it supports VoLTE. There are rumors there might be a Nougat "patch" to enable it, but I would put that in the realm of hopeful user's wishes rather than truth.
If the Moto G 2015 is any indication, once it is working in stock with stock modem firmware, developers can likely get it working in custom ROMs but it might take some time (it took nearly a year to get it working in that device after the device supported it)

What Rom for v20? Want to avoid google, but want to keep wifi calling

Howdy All, I want to put a custom rom on my phone to avoid some of the bloat/spyware associated with stock roms, but I also want wifi calling to work.
Is there a rom that will do that? I was thinking lineage, but a quick brows shows that the wifi talk will not work there.
Thanks
I have an VS995. I read somewhere that if you clean flash the first release of the Oreo Alpha Omega Rom. Then clean flash the most recent Alpha Omega Rom (20c i think), WiFi calling will work. WIFI calling has always been hit or miss with me. After Verizon pushed the 20d Over The Air update I haven't been able to get WIFI calling to work at all. Even after flashing my V20 back to stock with the 20c KDZ and performing the 20d over the air update. I used to think WIFI calling only worked with Verizon if you activated it on the latest firmware. Now I think Android is just impossible. I've been using a Google Voice number as a work around.

You are going to want a stock rom if you are on Verizon otherwise you will be missing calls. There is a work around for it but you will have to perform it hourly because you'll never know when your not able to send and receive calls unless you try placing one. Not to mention there is no VoLTE (Voice over LTE). or stable camera.
Lastly I find that if you trun off the second display in settings on a stock rom the phone runs almost as good as the pie version of lineage OS. I still miss those arrow keys in the home touch bar though.
Edit: Just waited a day and changed my physical address in Wi-Fi calling setting. Was able to place my first WiFi call in over a year. Maybe I was right.
Where's the "wifi call settings"?
Perhaps it's only on the Verizon model VS995
Settings > Network (tab) >Advanced Calling > Wi-Fi Calling
I am on a tmobile H918, do you think the whole first flash, second flash thing is neccessary for wifi talk and text?
