I just flashed the unlocked 930U ROM on my Verizon S7. I notice that the Android Security Level is all the way back to May. Is there any way to force an update of this?
Go to Korea and kidnap the team responsible for updating that rom. Then, force them to build a rom with the newest security patch. Easy as pie...

LMAO no no no I meant to catch up to whatever the newest is. Maybe my understanding is wrong, but I thought that the security updates were pushed out separate from the actual ROM update itself.

They haven't had any so no way to get them.
May is the latest patch date for the 930u. I've been checking daily for an update. I even have the Samsung Smart Switch app installed on my PC looking for the updates for the phone. I'm not sure if the updates are going to come OTA or if they will be a PC download only. It would be nice to get one!

I like stock, too. Hope that we get future updates. Otherwise it would be very bad. And LOS 14.1 is not what I want, but would be working surly.
Really no zip file? That's crazy. The earth has so much people on it and there is no one person who can get this second soak test update and post it here. That's just amazing. Maybe on other planets are people with update zip file? What's with the mars people?
No Mars people yet but I heard over 1k volunteers are available

Motorola should offer the update on her server. Google do this for her pixel phones, too. So what? There is the possibility to update over adb sideload, but no official zip files to update. But, this new update is not include 07/2017 security patch. So, do we really need this? We should wait for the next full update, stable release. That should be save to sideload, right? Full is the best.

Sorry, I prefer customer roms over waiting for the Mfg. to play catch up. I found custom roms will give you more up to date security and more options than the Mfg. will offer.

That's not the latest. Branding software can not be updated to latest 7.1.1, or? Just retail can be flashed to soak test.
Contains the July 1st security patch.
Why always only T-Mobile users get all these updates?
My U1 even didn't get the previous update.
Why u mad bro?
I'm still on the firmware that came with the phone at launch. Is there any good reason to update?

Performance improvements, security patches, ui improvements and that's just naming a few.

I am still on the firmware that came with the phone. My girlfriend has done all the updates. Aside from the security patches (which may prevent me from rooting if anyone ever finds an exploit) I see absolutely zero "performance or UI improvement" after these updates. These words are thrown around so loosely and casually by the oems that they have completely lost their meanings. So when Samsung blocks the ability to remap the bixby button they call it UI improvement and so on. So, I'm sticking with the original firmware until a meaningful update comes along or someone can quantify for me better why the current updates are necessary.

on my signature u will see the link to my firmware site.. look into the S8 + folder.. I have all the firmwares from sammobile..
I'm unable to update my phone for whatever reason, it still says January 1 and I'm up to date. I'm fully stock and have looked all over here and the Internet with lots of international 9.0.13 zips or tmobile 9.0.3. I'm looking to update manually but need the zip, does anyone have it, the newest one?
When my wife comes home I will check her phone if there is an update I was unaware that t mobile released an update. Where did you find out about an t mobile update? The one plus update is about a week old or so in official channels so t mobile should be out in a couple weeks if they stay on task. The quarter #2 release has till the end of June to be considered on time since the updates are quarterly.
Thanks for the reply.
I found this on Tmobile site but no link.

Your build number seems to match the newest from that link you sent. 217 seems to be the newest from your screenshot. You must remember that one plus uses different number schemes than t mobile. T mobile also has January security patch and not the newest security patch. That you see in beta and custom ROMs.
You are right, weird it still says January and I haven't gotten an update in a while

Security patch is from January the update came a few weeks ago. In the release notes you will notice no mention of new security patch as it was still beta when the update came. Security patches are not always the newest and is part of the main reason people use custom or international ROMs phone carriers across the globe are slow at updated security since that is not their focus.
That is very confusing. Thank you for the help. I take it I'm not the only one.

The latest t mobile security patch is January. And yes you are the only one besides my wife using the t mobile ROM.
Lol, I had the international Rom, pixelfy, and dragon I think it was called but none had service as good as the stock T-Mobile rom. Download speeds and radios seem to work better with stock, and I'm using it as my work phone so I have to be clean, no root. I have the note 9 for my personnel.

You don't need root to be on the international. But the newest international is no differences in the king county wa area.

Can someone direct me to a tutorial on how to extract my current stock Samsung firmware and make an Odin flashable zip file?
The firmware I am currently using has July security patch for N986N and the firmware is not available anywhere online. I would like to extract this firmware and make a flashable zip file. Others might find it useful too incase they need to change the CSC sometime in future.
As of now, CSC changes are only supported in July security patch. So having a backup of this exact firmware might help in future.
Help please?!?? ???
If you're doing this just for "security". Don't bother. Too much work. Security patches are useless.

No. In order to change CSC in future, I'll need July firmware reinstalled. CSC updates dont work with August/September updates sadly. So I thought it will be handy have the current July update backed up.

Hey thats with September build, not July.
Looks like you didn't understand what I was trying to say.
In order to change CSC, your security patch needs to be earlier than August which means July.
July build is not available anywhere online. I have 2 Note Ultras - both N986N
One of them has September patch so I am not able change the CSC on it.
The other one is July, which works flawlessly for CSC changes. If there is a way I could extract the firmware on my July version N20U, I could try flashing the same on to the other device.
There are others searching for the same firmware too.
