Hi, I am currently trying to find a way to enable VoLTE and wifi calling/text on my unlocked S7 Active. This issue is that this phone is exclusive to AT&T and I'm using it on T-Mobile. I stumbled across this thread and saw that you had success with this and the unlocked S7 Edge. Would the methods you used also work for the unlocked S7 Active running on Tmo?
Apologies if I'm in the wrong area of the site. I'm a complete noob to thIs community and the rooting process itself. I have made one post so far asking some questions regarding this topic over in the S7 Active root section. Received a very kind and thorough response (still need to follow up and thank him!)
He did say there are ways to enable VoLTE, but I'd have to research the topic to figure it out. And that's how I ended up here
Thanks so much. Very grateful for any insight.

https://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-active/development/rom-mod-release-t3635879 This thread might answer your queries...

Thank you guys so much for the direction! I checked out both links. The last one (17-18 pages) looks quite useful, but just after reading the first page, it's very clear that I need to start from the beginning. It was like trying to read a foreign language.
It would probably be safer for me to try to find a beginner's intro to rooting and basic tutorial first.
Hey, you guys should set up a mentor program! I know I would gladly fork over a reasonable donation for some one-on-one schooling
Edit: I have bookmarked the advised links too. Will be returning to them as I become more versed in all this.

Note 5 Indian users (SM-N920G) (How to use Jio Sim VoLTE calls)

I have tested this method on my N920G and it worked for me so don't know about other devices
As most of the Indian owners are aware of Jio network Preview offer for samsung flagships phone i.e. unlimited LTE , unlimited VOLTE calls , unlimited sms for 3 months. But there is an issue with the samsung latest update that does not allow most of the users to use Jio sim for making calls using stock dialer also they are getting 4g written on status bar and have to use Jio Join app for making calls and sms.
but i have found a solution to this issue and that is you have to downgrade your firmware to DD3 in order to get VoLte working and then u can update via OTA once it starts working.
All you got to do is flash
https://mega.nz/#!Cc82GTgb!N8ThVCFwFq0hDj4cqPHuT6Biajn9x116yf1gnhV8eQA
via odin and be CAUTIOUS AND TAKE A BACKUP BEFORE AS IT WILL WIPE YOUR INTERNAL STORAGE AND DATA.
i found this solution and wanted to share it with the community
also not much experience in writing threads so bear with me.....

first of all check your device model by going in settings-about device
if its N920G
then download the firmware i have mentioned above and take backup of all ur files as all the data will get deleted.
then install odin in your pc and in your device go to settings- about device - software info- then click on build number 7 times it will enable developer mode
in developer mode switch on usb debugging and OEM unlocked
then switch off the device and press power home and volume down button it will take you to the download mode and then follow on screen instructions
once you are able to see your device in odin click on ap tab and select the file you downloaded and click on start wait till the process get complete and it will show pass

nothing yet, jio4gvoice is the only way out for now.. btw 4g is lte and seeing either of the signs is fine. the thing is we need VoLTE sign to get calling working without use of jio4gvoice app.

How to make Volte work on Samsung S7 edge (Sprint) for Reliance Jio

Hi,
I am totally a newbie to Android, just moved from IOS, so please bear with me.
I am trying to make Reliance Jio sim work on my Samsung S7 edge (Sprint). Data is working just fine through Reliance jio sim on my mobile. But I am not able to activate Volte on mobile, so calls are not getting through. The Volte turn on/off tab is missing. I searched on the internet and found out that Sprint's network does not support Volte, so they have disabled the tab for it.
My model is SM-G635P
What is the best way out?? Do i have to root my phone??
Thanks in advance.
I am not aware if this will work with Sprint, Carrier locked versions are a little different, plus its Snap Dragon but this is what i did.. You need to change the CSC usually but yours being a sprint one, there will be some modifications for sure , I am pretty sure you wont have an INS CSC in your phone, so you might have to change to a stock US or UK one or maybe T Mobile. I would wait for an expert to tell you that for sure
This is for Reliance JIO Users - You dont need to flash your ROM, you can change your firmware to INS CSC and it works.
1) i used the Phone Info App (Download from the Google Play Store) and saw what CSC Codes were available for me to change to.
2) I downloaded a new firmware from Sam Mobile - You can google for them entering your model no - G-935fD, i am not sure if they are available here in XDA as well
3) My phone supported India CSC (You can see supported CSC's using the Phone Info App so i downloaded the India one it could be different for others.
4) I then downloaded ODIN and used the tuorial in this forum to flash my phone and change the CSC code.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7SK3IMprKVQ this is the link with a step to step guide.
5) After that i factory reset my phone and downloaded the July Update Patch.
My phone after that has been able to make calls and i can see the VOLTE symbol, depending on the firmware it should either automatically come or you might have to manually enable it.
Hope this helps everyone else also. Factory reset usually helps and downloading the latest update too..
The method above will not work with Sprint Phones. Attempting it may brick your phone.
Activating VoLTE will mostly require some work at the root level. Hope someone who has knowledge about it can help you.

The u firmware is what you want. Just download the latest one... maybe pl2? It will unlock all radio bands. You may have to sim unlock it too. Root is unstable and still won't give you the all of the bands. The hardware is there, but the software controls them.

Note 4 wifi calling on EE

Hi Guys, this section of the forum looks very quiet but looking for advice on how to enable WiFi calling, i am on EE due to signal issues where i live and have an EE booster box in the house, problem is i need WiFi calling. I have bought a Note 4 which was previously on Vodafone. i have done lots of searching and see some people have managed to install firmware or flashed the phone so it works.
As i am quite a novice to this can anyone help explain how to do it?
much appreciated
If it is available, it will be in the phone (dailer) settings. But I am pretty sure that EE doesn't support the Note 4

It helps when you ask for help to provide information on your phone; model, ROM, country, and service provider. In any case I have Wi-Fi calling on a 910C in the USA using Straight Talk (T-Mobile). Your SIM card needs to support it and your phone needs to be Wi-Fi Enable. To enable the phone I use Magisk and module "VoEnabler". I can turn off Data and still make calls and send MMS/SMS through Wi-Fi. Hope this information helps. GL

Your phone is a SM-N910F(Snapdragon, Qualcomm) and you will need Odin on a computer , CF-Autoroot by Chainfire, TWRP recovery, and Magisk. I will attach some of the files, others are too big, but since you stated you are a novice there is some reading that you need to do and videos are helpful too. I will only attached the generic files. Performing and or using the above tools improperly can brick your phone, so make sure that you understand the process. On this forum you can find how to root and install TWRP, just use the "search this thread" blank block. Again, there are videos on Google showing the process starting with Odin, then CF Auto Root, TWRP, and Magisk. Use the information to download the correct files for your model (CF Auto Root, TWRP). Good luck.
