New to android, experience with iPhone, I see it is very different.
Did I need permissions to delete the .apk from sdcard? it said file was -rw in astro, but when I deleted it it still was showing up.
ZOMG!

Wiped phone, now process com.android.setupwizard - Force Quit

I have been trying to install REVOlution DHD theme but it's not work. So just use the "Factory Reset" function and everything seemed fine till when its going through the steps to setup (or sign in) for a google account I get, process com.android.setupwizard has stopped unexpectedly... etc. Force Close. Then it restarts the google set up process again. Very pitty I don't have Nandroid.
Please show me suggestions to solve problem. Thank in advance
if you don't have a nandroid the only way to fix this is to reflash your ROM, to remove any traces of REVOlution theme
you could also try pushing setupwizard.apk and htcsetupwizard.apk to /system/app/. you dont need setup wizard imo, it can all be done from the settings menu
Can you show me more details? Thank you

download the rom you using, use winrar or winzip to extract the .zip, inside there is a folder called "system" open that and then the folder called "app" find setupwizard.apk and htcsetupwizard.apk, copy both files to your sd card, boot into android, and use a root enabled explorer to copy both files to /system/app/ (overwriting originals) then boot into recovery and wipe the dalvik cache, reboot and try again

Cant delete CWM backups from internal SD Card

Need some help here:
I need to delete some of the backups I made with CWM recovery. I already have them backed up onto my PC, but need to delete them to make some room. For some reason I cant.
Ive tried root explorer, es file explorer, and my PC. Im unable to change the permissions of the files, and if you look at the pics I attached youll see they have some strange permissions, but I cant change them.
I am able to move the files anywhere else in the sd card folder, rename them, but no matter what I cant delete them. And when I try from my PC it shows them disappear, but they are actually still there.
If there is a way to format the sd card folder I will, but thats not an option in the settings, or CWM. Can someone please help me out here? This is really frustrating me. Thanks

Same, tried with multiple apps too.
I posted this in the other thread, but figured I would do so here in case other people needed the "fix".
Ok, so some good news and some bad news.
The good news is, I was able to put together a flashable zip that WILL DELETE the entire CWM backup directory from the sdcard. It is available here:
http://core.routed.com/CWM_Backup_Wipe.zip
You simply need to flash it via CWM. Easy peasy. I confirmed that the directory/files were all removed, AND the storage space is now available for other files (I checked df before and after).
The bad news is, before attempting to delete the directory, I first tried changing the permissions (recursively) to see if that was a better "fix" for this problem. Unfortunately, even with the directory 777 and the files 666, I still could not manually delete them through the system. Which means, whatever bug is causing this problem is much more severe than a file/directory permission thing.
In any case, until the CWM developer can figure out a way to fix this bug, at least we have a way to manually remove the backups and get our storage space back.
The script in the zip is very simple. It just does a recursive delete on /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup.
Enjoy!

Just saying thanks for this, I hope they figure a fix out soon. Flash worked perfectly, for some storage space back. :good:

There's something in TWRP to delete files. I was unable to delete a clockworkmod file through the PC or file explorer, but the TWRP thing worked. Also, I noticed when you add or delete files (mostly delete), it doesn't show up until after a reboot.

Backup and Pin

So my every time I restore my TWRP backup of stock and restart it tells me my pin is wrong. Any idea what's happening here?
Reboot to TWRP, go to advanced and then file manager, navigate to data/system and delete these:
password.key
pattern.key
locksettings.db
locksettings.db-shm
locksettings.db-wal

Thank you. Also for whatever reason my backup when I managed to get into it by deleting data......the quick setting tiles are a weird shade of white and Black/grey and are makinh it hard to read like the battery settings and what not no idea why that is wasn't like that when i made the backup. Somehow somewhere substratum like stick to it and won't change on the stock ROM lol. This phone is weird.
Can't say 100% but possibly is substratum, have you disabled all themes?
Yes I have. I don't even have it installed right now on stock. It's somehow lingering from other roms even after clean wipes and only effecting the quick tiles lol. Weird.
