Looks like Mono is having a sale for their MHL adapter when you add the coupon code MPMHL so it comes out to 7.14 and shipping.
Pretty good deal when other comparable places have it way higher. They have the compatibility list on the link, but it looks like it won't work with the Galaxy S3. =(
is anybody using this?

cause if this works,
its hell of a deal.
Real urgent and quick question here, I'm getting the 16GB model which is 349$ (350). When I order it online, how much do you think it will be with taxes and shipping? I have 375$ in my account.. do you think that is enough? I live in new york.. When I got my nexus 7 199$ , it came up to about 222.00 with shipping and everything.
EDIT : Figured it out. CLOSED.
hey care to tell me more about the 8gb version and ordering it from the play store.. how much will it exactly cost with everything inclusive.. and how long it would take to deliver?
These threads are easy to answer. Work it out yourself, it's simple. Delivery shouldn't be more than $13.99. Then look up the tax rate in your state, and add it on. Hey presto, you have your total. It's a simple calculation, stop asking someone else to do it for you.
As for delivery. It's been said a hundred times that Google use UPS 2 day shipping. Add another day or two for processing before the order ships and you're looking at worst case scenario, Monday 19th.
No that is not enough, just by you stating that the nexus 7 was 22$ more with taxes alone thats a 13%(ish) increase. Youre probably looking at 390$ with taxes and S&H. My math isnt that great though so wait on others to chime in haha.

Prices for europe
I believe that for Europe, all prices are inclusive VAT (depending on country 19% - 22%)
Shipping is 9 € (here in Spain) - So the total is 308 € and 358€
:good:

299 (Price of 8gb) + 7-9% tax (no idea where you live, Google it up) + 15 dollars shipping = 338 USD

Oh BTW, are the packages from Google left on porch? Or do they need signatures for delivery?

I live in Illinois, when I ordered my galaxy nexus, it came via UPS in two days. They left it on the porch, no signature.
Price was $383 from $349 on the play store.
SIDE NOTE: UPS doesn't deliver on Saturdays, so figure that into your time frame.

Nope but looking forward to the release. Hopefully the release will be similar to the n5 and not the n6. Ended up canceling my order on the n6 and finding it locally
http://www.androidpolice.com/2015/0...r-29th-in-the-u-s-uk-korea-japan-and-ireland/
"The pre-orders will only be available on the Google Store, not in carrier stores, that's what we're hearing, and for the Nexus 5X, they'll be live in the US, UK, Korea, Japan, and Ireland. Yeah, I see no Canada in that list. That's... weird. Maybe our friends in the Great White North will have to wait a bit to get their hands on the least expensive of the two Nexuses."
http://www.androidpolice.com/2015/0...6p-and-5x-wont-have-wireless-charging-either/
"Google decided to skip wireless charging on both devices. That decision didn't come lightly though and the thinking behind it is that USB-C will offer much faster charging than wireless."
I wonder if you'll be able to buy them through the play store, you can buy apps/movies/books but why not phones?
I'll be bummed if I can't order one tomorrow.
I might have a friend of mine bring one up for me, we shall see.

Ouch $849 that's pricey, the 5x will probably be $529/$599 cad. Im out, not paying $700 after taxes/shipping for a phone that barely has any new upgrades compared to my nexus 5.
Wow, I did not realize how much CAD lost value over USD. Back on N5 release, the rates were closer.

They were 1:1 back then, my n5 was $399 cad back then. Now its brutal, 40% higher.
From what I read, the price on the Canadian 32GB 5X will be 559.00. I ordered mines from States, so I can get the $50 Google play card. Plus, is cheaper in US when you do the exchange rate.
Just ordered my 5X from canada, it's up.
Ordered two 32GB just now.
Just preordered the 32GB carbon. Looking forward to going back to a normal sized phone (currently own the n6)
I decided to pre-order a 32GB Carbon. I wasn't really paying attention and I seem to have put my order in almost an hour after some of you here. My estimated delivery is October 22 - 29
I just ordered 2 32GB. My estimated delivery is oct. 22-29 as well. I'm pretty excited. Anyone else order the 5x case?

That's reassuring. I have never ordered an OEM case, including both the Nexus phones I have owned. I also ordered the flip case for the wife so we'll see how it works out as well.
In the shipping waiting room thread quite a few people noticed the status of their orders changed this morning from "pre-ordered" to "pending". Mine has also changed. I'm not expecting one but it would be nice to see a shipping confirmation email sooner than expected.
Thanks!!
I don't think you can get it. not at the moment at least. It was not launched in that region. Do buy it online, end of story.

I live in Qatar and bought the uk version online. works like a charm. 4g+ and all the goodies
Was wondering if the yotaphone 2 was good for that price and if it's still getting supported officially or on xda.
Yes, it's still getting support officialy. On xda there is someone who wants to build a CM rom for it. I think if you always wanted it but the high price stopped you, now is the moment! I got it at 100€ last month and I'm reeeally happy.
The team behind the smartphone sure seems pretty active, with the recent MM Beta program and the update of the SDKs, I strongly doubt they'll abandon official support anytime soon.
Plus, consider that what you're paying a hundred bucks for a phone that used to cost 500 and more. IMHO HW is great even for today standards and you probably won't find the same build quality in any "more recent" smartphone at the same price.
I want to buy this phone too but i've got a one quick question(so i wont make another topic). In a review i saw the rear screen is changing when you take a photo. Is there any option to disable it and take a hidden photo ? Thanks for answer

Yes, just disable the toggle here and nothing will appear on EPD screen when you take a picture.
Yesterday I saw the yotaphone two for 106.99 USD. It is still dropping in price too. But these are phones made in China, who knows if the glass, battery etc are the same as the original expensive yotaphone assembled in Singapore?

Atleast the e-ink display seems to be having quality control issues:

I don't know if the problem got worse when they started assembling the phones in China.
Curious

The back screen seems to be different. A coated plastic instead of glass.
I'm curious where you saw it for $107.
Cheapest I saw was $118 at Gearbest but that one has the Snapdragon 801 where all the AliExpress sales have the 800.
Mi
Yes the 106.99 USD price was 2 days ago on Aliexpress for a YP2 with snapdragon 800. I didn't know that Gearbest sold the YP2 with the better , more modern snapdragon 801. The aliexpress price varies with the USD/CNY exchange rate, today the cheapest price is 111 USD. But you can also easily pick up coupons for an extra 1-5 USD discount, more if you are a new user. Of course if the supplier changes the processor, he can change other things.
Personally I'm waiting for the price to go below 100 USD before buying one. Although I would pay extra for a stronger glass on the EPD side.

According to YOTAPHONE the black glass is made from ceramic coated not plastic.
I have brought YD206 model from Aliexpress and upgraded to YD201 the processes is "qualcomm msm8974pro-aa" AKA Snapdragon 801 2.27 GHz
Could you point to the specific AliExpress site where you bought it??

It very well could be a ceramic coating.
All I know is if you brush the screen against something it leaves marks on the screen.
I know one guy who sanded the coating off and applied some sort of liquid coating.

I'm using near a month now and I have dropped the phone 3 -4 times. The front screen has couple of very tiny scratches but nothing on the back.
Totally believable but I have several medium to large scratches on the back screen, but only in the coating.
It didn't stop me from ordering 1 with the snapdragon 801 from Gearbest yesterday.
I hope the battery life is improved with the newer CPU but the 800 worked well.
I'll carry this one in a nylon case.
With the software/apps Yotaphone has done there are few, if any other phones I would prefer under $200 USD.
The one from Gearbest was shipped by DHL Singapore.
No idea if that means a thing. I've been dealing with Gearbest since July 2014 >80 items and never gotten a crap product or one they would not stand behind unlike Bangbad and Ali.

To me the huge difference is the 801 supports onboard HEVC decoding which equates to much better battery life since the vast majority of video I watch is HEVC.
The 801 has a number of other differences as well, but most aren't important to me since I don't game or run many CPU intensive apps.

I think you misunderstood what TheArt said. He said in YotoPhone2 originally came with 800 but the seller has over clocked to 801. So you don't get any of those features or performance as those articles explain because it is just 800 but with bit of more speed.

No, he was right. I thought that the only difference between Snapdragon 800 and 801 was the max GHz reachable from the CPU, but he proved that there are other differences.
Thanks for the links. Gearbest is out but maybe they'll help someone.

The top one is the 801 for the same price I got at Gearbest (117.99) but for $4.30 more I got DHL shipping.
The bottom listing is an 800 CPU which doesn't have on board HEVC decoding.
Even if I could find an 801 Yotaphone 2 on AliExpress for $10 less it's not worth it to me.
The search time and the insecurity of an unknown seller on Ali.?
Add DHL to the Aliexpress price and I bet Gearbest is cheaper.
I've been buying from AliExpress since it opened and my experience has been that Ali is often cheaper on small inexpensive items but not on most electronics over $25 USD.
I also buy from a dozen other sites and have a pretty good idea where to buy most items at the best VALUE.
That's my business.
My first PC was an IBM 1130
In most countries if you import using DHL you are guaranteed to have to pay customs duty, collected by DHL of course (up to 30%). In the manager's pocket anyway. You have to be unlucky to pay customs duty if you use regular post. And if you do it will the correct amount, not a concocted DHL profiteering amount. I think the posters here don't quite appreciate the sheer volume of fakery in China, they will copy anything and everything. The Chinese will fake antutu testing apps, for me the glass is never gorilla glass and the battery is not the standard one for a Yotaphone. Any retailer from China may be selling fake stuff.
