Hi guys,
Not sure of this wss covered already but i was unable to locate anything that helps
I currently have a Galaxy Note 3 n9005 international LTE version with stock kitkat installed 4.4.2. The phone is rooted which i did upon receiving it and have super user 2.0 installed. i have confirmed root with titanium back.
Now i wanted to try a custom rom and tried to install the new phillz touch recovery but observed that it kept failing in odin (tried several times) i even tried to install a custom recovery via ROM Manager which it said the update was complete but when ever i boot into recovery mode i keep get the stock android recovery.
i have search and cannot find anything that help so here i am.
My Android version N9005XXUENC2 AND Kernel version is 3.4.0-636608 dpi @SWDD5619 #1
From my understanding once u root it should have install a custom recovery. When i got the phone it came with Jelly bean 4.3 and i rooted then updated to kitkat, could this be the issue. Does that mean i have root again?
Any assistance given is greatly appreciated.
I have the same Problem rooted with towelroot work fine with knox 0x0 and i have testet it with Rom Manager and with Rom installer have installed twrp and cwm all Not work sorry 4 the Bad english.

If you have updated via Kies, i think you lost the root access. Download a root checker app and check the root status.
Hi, im wondering if anyone can help?
i have a rogers s5 900w8 on 4.4.2 rooted with towel root. i want to go to stock rogers 5.0 that just came out and root. im not concerned about tripping the counter if i can prevent that it would be nice.
my plan was to download the firmware and flash with odin since the ota will not work but i cant seem to find clear instructions on how to root 5.0.

Hi I'm on Telus g900w8 I had stock awhile ago. And then was on omega ROM after I rooted for months. I originally rooted using chainfires autoroot. I believe in superuser I just unrooted then flashed back to stock kitkat. Then once you download the the new version of stock and flash it will be back to normal. Then from there you just have to re root would be my guess.
I'm currently on Cyanogen mod 12 in the unified android development for the past month and its the Lollipop version. I prefer it over the Omega just because of lollipop seems smoother too. For our model you would use the gsm version (if you wanted to try it out). And I just used the stock kernel.
I had rooted my g900w8 about a month after I got it and tripped the Knox counter.
Hope this helps.

Hello all,
I recently installed 5.0.1 rooted on galaxy s4 I337 using muniz's method and had some questions?
The main reason I rooted was to try to get xposed so I can edit the ui, I understand that it is not working on samsung devices right now, but when it does work, I understand the only way to install it is using a custom recovery.
Since I have a locked bootloader and am on 5.0.1 I don't think there is a way to get a custom recovery on here, correct me if I'm wrong.
How would I install the xposed framework? Will flashfire be able to load it?
Also, if I were to revert back to the stock NB1 build, can I re-root and install clockworkmod (would LOKI work then?) on it and then go to a custom rom like cynogenmod or are there problems with this because I already have updated all the way to 5.0.1? (I've done this rollback through ODIN before and it's not too bad.)
I'm new to android modding so this has been a learning experience.
Thanks
Once upgraded to the locked bootloaders, there is no going back to loki. You can downgrade from 5.0.1 to 4.4.2, but you can only use safestrap recovery, and only touchwiz based firmware. Also, safestrap doesn't work on 5.0.1 yet. From what I have read, with 5.0.1 you'll have to wait and see what the developers come up with. If you care to learn more about the history of bootloaders, there is lots of info in these forums.

If xposed ever is updated to support Lollipop Touchwiz, you'll be able to flash it using Flashfire or using the Safestrap workaround (flash 4.4 kernel so you can get into safestrap, flash files, then flash 5.0 kernel). There's no way to go back to CWM or TWRP past the old MF3 4.2.2 update, which has long come and gone now.
Hi. I have a couple of questions on rooting my Note 4.
I'm running unrooted stock 5.1.1 on my SaskTel (Canadian) 910W8.
What are my steps to rooting my device currently? I see a lot of talk about using Odin to put the Bell firmware on, installing TWRP through Odin, installing SuperSU and installing a custom kernel but those instructions seem to imply I'm not currently on 5.1.1 or I'm already running a rooted 5.0.1 or earlier device.
Is there no easy chainfire type of method?
I just basically want to run stock rooted 5.1.1 on my device.
Thanks.
Hello, I have a ATT s4 oc4 that is running 5.0.1 and is rooted. I know it's hard to find any custom roms because of the bootloader version, but am I able to download or make a deodexed stock 5.01 (or newer) rom and install it without any problems?
I want to install xposed to tweak some annoying things, but I don't want to cause hours of frustration just trying to get back to where I'm at already.
Thank you!
