PLease Help!! A310F/DS - Galaxy A3, A5, A7, A8, A9 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

Hi I have a Galaxy A3 2016 Duos (A310F/DS)
After searching for ages I cannot find anything on Rooting or flashing custom recovery.
There is lots of stuff about the A310F/FD/Y/M Exynos7580 variants however my A310F/DS is a Qualcomm MSM8916 Snapdragon 410, I'm pretty sure if I flash TWRP designed for the other CPU it will brick my phone.
Any help on getting TWRP or Root would be much appropriated!!!
I'm hoping to install Root then root uninstall some of the bloatware apps

I know that a lot of sites falsly reporting A310F to have Qualcomm, Maybe there is some Qualcomm model sold in a few countries or something, but they would have a different model name, otherwise it would be impossible to find right firmware.
Have you checked your hardware with some app, unpacked boot image or something to make sure it's actually Qualcomm or Exynos.
Reason why I ask is because you're the first one I've seen here saying it's Qualcomm. Another reason is that all firmwares for A310F can be flashed on my exynos A310F.

Thank you, youre 100% corrent my Phone does have the Exynos7580 even thought phonearena.com said it has a Qualcomm
Does that mean I should be fine going ahead and flashing the recovery for the A310F/FD/Y/M phones?

Yes you should be good to go
Remember to enable OEM unlock in developer settings and to untick auto reboot in Odin before flash.
Boot manually to recovery when Odin says pass, without boot to system in between.

Canadian Variant 928W8 stock firmware

Any one knows when it will be available? My phone has been FRP locked, so need it urgently to unbrick my phone... Thanks!!
Sam mobile usually has all the firmwares available to download as Odin packages. If not I could probably do a factory reset, make a twrp backup and upload it for you? You'll of course need to root/install twrp following all the guides here for that to work though.
I don't know if you're looking for a stock ROM or not. Honestly haven't read much about the FRP lock, haven't even bothered flashing my Edge+ yet (also W8 variant, which is weird for me, first android I haven't flashed.. ). Anyway, there is THIS in the T-Mobile section (rooted+deodexed though).
Hmm... the problem is that I cannot even boot into recovery mode as this stupid FRP is blocking every custom recovery/kernel/ROM.... Only the stock firmware would help to unbrick the phone...

Thanks for the link, but it is not the stock firmware so that it won't help in my case. FRP basically blocks any recovery/kernel/ROM other than stock version. Please please please always keep in mind to check"OEM unlock" in developer option before doing factory reset on a custom ROM, in particular we are using W8 variant, that Samsung hasn't released the stock firmware... In other words, there is no way to unbrick the phone once it is FRP locked.
Anybody manage to find this? I need the stock firmware now too :\
Is it true that the battery doesn't charge after it's FRP locked? So the missing W8 firmware even if it comes eventually when the battery is dead the phone is dead? How in the hell are we supposed to fix this with no firmware available on sammobile?! Is there really no other way? Who has the firmware? Do the carriers have it?
Samsung Firmware has stock firmware for the W8 variant (full ODIN tar files), both OGD and the new OK5. I've been checking sammobile daily, and nothing (even at the time of this post).. Just thought I'd post in case some were not aware..

You're welcome! Since I made that post, sammobile has 2 versions of OK5 firmware now. IIRC, they have a free download method (ableit, it's slow). Should be able to change CSC, but I could be wrong..
Anyone know how to fix it yet?
Canadian variants are on sammobile now.

Bricked Samsung Galaxy Prime Cricket version SM-G530AZ

Hello everyone! I am new and a noob here. I have upgraded to a 5.1.1 Lollipop firmware. My phone was still carrier locked so I started looking up threads on the internet on how to unlock it for free, and came across a kingroot then region unlock solution. I used kingroot then downloaded supersu and installed that. After it finished installing, it said a reboot was necessary so I rebooted. Upon rebooting it said custom in the bootlogo then popped up with a big triangle that said Security Error: This phone has been flashed with unauthorized software & is locked. Call your mobile operator for additional support.
After much tinkering with installing Odin and downloading firmwares, I am still in the same boat. I believe this may be because I (stupidly) enabled reactivation lock because it sounded helpful in case my phone was stolen. This is now locking the firmware down and every time I try to install a stock firmware (4.4.4 or 5.0.2 as these are the only ones available on Sammobile for the SM-G530H) it says r/l enabled cannot install kernel without r/l or something to that effect. That is why I think the reactivation lock is messing me up. It also doesn't help that I upgraded to 5.1.1, as I believe that makes it harder to install a stock firmware, especially an older one.
Thanks for reading and if anyone knows anything that can help, I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you.
bumpity bump bump..
anybody?
this is what happens when you try to replace king user/king root with supersu. same thing happened to me, totally bricked. And I didn't backup first
Never found a way to restore it, so I sent it to samsung and got another one, backed it up, and did king root, and manually switched to supersu.

how did you send it to them and they fix it? i figure they wouldn't help because it was a user error in which you tried to flash which voids warranty or whatever /:
I fixed these phone all day for the same exact problem. Call me 347-210-8466 and I will tell you where to ship the phone and have it repair and shipped back to you in 24hr. For only $45.00 return ship is free.
No need to pay to get phone fixed. Follow this post. Somewhere along the flash, it will display message that kies is not compatible with phone, click ok and it will finish flashing. I just did this yesterday on my son's phone.

Hey, I have the G530AZ my phone works normally with a few exceptions. I can NOT update SuperSU I have a Custom Status due to Rooting with Odin with G530H. I used an app and now when I reboot or power my phone on I have to reboot a 2nd time from the recovery screen. If I plug my phone in it powers up and the same thing happens if I update using Kies3 in the mentioned post will it work and be okay?

I'm thinking your issue is with the kernel not recognizing the firmware. You need to flash the original kernel for the G530AZ.
You may be able to use the file I have linked for the G530A in this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/grand-prime/general/att-samsung-galaxy-prime-sm-g530a-links-t3283066

The procedure I posted above will flash your phone back to pure stock, like it would be out of the box. Only thing would be, that it flashes the most current update. When I got the phone, it was already on 5.1.1 and this is what Kies downloaded and flashed.

Yes, comprehensive instructions would be good to have, which files go in what slots in Odin. I have used Odin before, but with a single file. Been so long since I have used it though.

I believe the problem is that people are flashing firmwares for the incorrect model. If I am understanding correctly, this is a thread for the Cricket Wireless version of the Grand Prime, model SM-G530AZ. If you are flashing firmwares for the 530H, you are bound to have problems.
Here is a link for both the KitKat and Lollipop stock firmwares for the G530AZ. Hope it helps.

Hello Ashyx,

may I know if you are interested making root for A9000 Hong Kong version 6.0.1?
i used Chainfire Auto root CF-Auto-Root-a9xltechn-a9xltezc-sma9000.zip
but that CF auto root did not work with A9000ZZH1BPI3 firmware.
I have tried like 20 times, and every time just stuck @recovery screen, then that's it,
if you have time could you please look into it, much appreciated...
Thank you
probably you must odin flash twrp and then super su from it...

TWRP Recovery for Galaxy Tab A SM-T585 LTE (NO SPEN)

Galaxy Tab A SM-T585 LTE 16GB / Android 6 / European Model
Hi all,
I recently bought this tablet and I am trying to find a working custom recovery to install.
The official TWRP from here https://twrp.me/devices/samsunggalaxytaba101lte2016spen.html
does not work. When I flash it, it does not boot to recovery at all. It must have to do something with SPEN because mine does not seem to support it. I have also tried to flash the TWRP from here https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...overy-official-twrp-gtaxlwifi-galaxy-t3437666 . This time the tablet boots to recovery and everything seems fine but the partition mappings are completely messed up and I cannot flash any zip or access sdcard contents.
Does anybody have any solution ?
Really ? Noone ?
My galaxy Tab A6 SM-T585 with "twrp-3.1.1-0-gtanotexllte.img" should be work but isn't it...
My best chance was with "twrp-3.1.1-0-gtaxlwifi.img" and im not able to boot without ERASE ALL DATA.
I found a lot of threads talking about twrp recovery and i have come to the conclusion:
dm-verify prevent you do that, because kernel was compiled with CONFIG_DM_VERITY so...
bad time for rooting manufacturer ROMs...
The only way is to install custom ROM that allow this option...
This link provide some idea of my conclusion.... may be exists any workarround or reverse engineering to do...
Im a new user and im not capable of post links so.. if you search > dm-verify android on google, you will see page of source code of android and will be any information about dm-verify.

I got 585 LTE model as well and used the 580's twrp version. That works. But know that it currently cannot use encryption of data partition.
So rooting the 585 comes with many downsides?

Hi! Also I have the T585 LTE, and also I tried the 580's version, but nothing, I can't access to recovery mode, and it goes in a bootloop. I don't know why, I know I must to be quick to press volup+power+home IMMEDIATLY after i exit download mode, but nothing, it goes bootloop. I also tried to flash twrp by adb, but it doesn't recognize my device while it is in download mode, actually only Odin does that. if you want, could you help me? I'm newbie to this things, but I know that installing TWRP is not so difficult, but this time I can't install it. Thanks for attenction!

Hey Guys,
I am really struggling to find a TWRP image that works on SM-T585 (Non S-Pen, LTE variant).
Any that I try end up with the same outcome - when I boot into recovery I think it boots ok (I can communicate with it over ADB) but the display is scrambled/just vertical lines).
It's not a physical display problem as the display works fine when booting to system.
So far I have tried various versions of the gtaxlwifi twrp, some versions i found on this forum supposedly for the T585 variant, but so far none of them work.
I'm beginning to wonder if I am doing something wrong. Any help is much appreciated.
UPDATE: Others on a different thread have suggested that it might be because TWRP is not compatible with latest samsung firmware/bootloader.
UPDATE 2: Theory confirmed. Waiting on Samsung to release kernel source (hopefully in a few days). See here.

No. Not yet. Samsung have not yet released the kernel source required to fix TWRP on the latest firmware.
Watch this thread for updates.

Hi there, I wonder if anything new has come yet. Also tried the T585 TWRP file and all it did was lock up at the Samsung boot screen so I had to re-apply the stock recovery image to use the device again. It is brand new, just got it. Never used before

Hi, I found the latest TWRP here: https://drive.google.com/drive/mobile/folders/1H3-CU3p-mGf0b_oQ69wirVcgd-okF-ps
But if you still need the stock recovery,

It went pretty smoothly, but after you do this, you won't be able to enable encryption for your user data anymore. You should also backup your data as chances are high you will need to reset everything if you make mistakes.
I had to flash the no-verity-opt-encrypt.zip file after flashing TWRP onto mine.
You can download it from here too:

[CROSSPOST] G900A seen as G900F, Odin Error SECURE CHECK FAIL: recovery

Sorry for the cross-post but I'm not sure which is the most appropriate forum section, feel free to delete this post if unappropriate.
As explained here, I bought a G900F, but I cannot flash TWRP with Odin because I receive an error, and in download mode it says the phone is actually a G900A (despite everything else, including battery label, says G900F)
I don't know what to do... how is this even possible?
Any hope to be able to install Lineage on this phone?
Thanks in advance

Return the phone if possible. Or just use it.

Phone's ROM consist of several partitions. It's SM-G900F's system flashed over the rest from SM-G900A
Mine is SM-G900T, my wife's is SM-G900V... All of them show SM-G900F in the settings.
The only place were your phone's model is surely shown is the Odin mode.

None.
Because of the locked bootloader (it cannot load a custom kernel, so you're limited to TW ROMs only. Not bad at all, you have an original S5, at least)
