Encryption Error -- can't boot into Recovery or Download - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

I recently purchased a Samsung S7 Edge for practically nothing that is bricked. I'm trying to fix it so that I can use it. I have some experience fixing phones, although I'm not having any luck here. The phone won't simply turn on as normal. The only time it does is when I hold the power and volume down button. It seems buggy when it turns on (screen doesn't display anything) and eventually loads an "Encryption failed" error. When attempting to boot either Recovery or Download, the phone will display the prompt about how it attempting to boot into recovery for about two seconds before the top quarter of the screen flashes white and completely shuts off. Any suggestions?

Bricked my phone, need some help

Got a brand new vs980 from Verizon with stock OTA 24A on it. I rooted and then used the KITKAT 24A OTA FREEDOM file from this thread to try and install TWRP 2.7. It ran, asked me if I wanted to boot into recovery. I chose yes. It appeared to have worked fine. However, now my phone just gives me the ERROR: boot certification verify screen. I've tried to get into download mode, but it never makes it past the first screen (dots). It never makes it to the screen with the progress meter and the usb icon. It seems to be properly bricked. Is this thread my only hope?
C'mon guys, this is a crisis. On my way to work this morning i had to listen to the radio! Like, with commercials and stuff.
Any luck? My phone is doing the exact same thing. I can't get into download mode or fast boot. The LG sign pops up, the error flashes for less than a second in the upper left hand corner then the screen goes blank and does nothing else until I hold the power button for 10 seconds or power button + volume down key, then it just repeats the LG sign and message all over again. We're screwed brotha

Weird S7 Edge Problem Blue LED Black Screen

Starting from the beginning: My phone crashed restarted several times and then black screen with blue led. Then I had t wait for the battery to die because none of the home power vol, power vol keys worked. Eventually got it into recovery mode selected wipe cache restarted same problem.
Now the phone even boot into recovery. It just stays on the blue screen saying "Installing system update" . The little recycling loading icon spins a couple times then its just stuck. Resorted to losing everything and installed smart switch and did emergency restore. Flashed a few times still no joy. Took it to shops they charged it turned it on and its reset to factory. Got it running again, only for it to go into a boot loop. Curious if it was actually fixed, i booted into recovery mode same issue and now back to square one. (I did let the battery die and started it up, came to the home screen and it started rebooting again to black screen and blue LED again.)
I do intend on sending it back but I am wondering could be that the recovery partition is corrupted?

Boot issue

I am having an issue booting my S7 Edge (US Unlocked)...thanks in advance for reading
Woke up in the middle of the night, checked a text, pull down menu froze screen, noticed battery at 1%...plugged in to charger
Next morning, black screen with solid blue notification light
Tried restarting several times with same result, but eventually it booted normally (one time)
Phone went back to same state...black screen, blue notification
Tried several restarts and eventually went to recovery mode...cleared cache, rebooted, no luck
Over the last day and a half I tried restarting many times with varying results
Always get "Rebooting Recovery...." on top of screen
Sometimes get Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge" screen, though most often not
Usually get the "Installing updates" screen, then "No Command"
Sometimes (rarely) I can get to recovery screen...though most often not
Sometimes in recovery screen I am frozen (volume buttons don't work for selection)
I can usually get into download mode
I've tried everything I can think of and find to get the phone to restart including letting the battery drain completely and doing a full recharge and restarting without SIM/SD
Any ideas on how I can get into my phone without a hard reset...i'd like to try and backup some files/texts first if at all possible. I haven't been able to get into safe mode
Any files I can load to SD or through ADB that would help?
Phone is stock...no rooting or roms (first time keeping a stock phone...go figure)
Thanks.
I've tried flashing stock firmware from updato and sammobile with no luck. Can never get past the "Recovery Booting...." screen. No help from smartswitch. Anything else I can try?
Having the same issue...
any help would be appreciated.
Tried flashing many times and got several different errors...often if failed on cache.img.ext4
I was able to flash BL + CP + CSC successfully, then flash AP successfully. Still had boot loop issues after that though, so not much progress.
Once I did get the "error...connect to smartswitch" screen, but smartswitch did not recognize device.
Not really sure where to go next from here.

Stuck on "Starting Android..."

Hi Guys
I used Odin to reflash my Galaxy S10+ dual sim (duos) as it was experiencing some slowness. I used the Singapore firmware as it uses the same "G975FXXU1ASBA" model name.
The process completed successfully but when the phone boots, it gets past the Samsung logo screen and then gets stuck on a blank black screen with "Starting Android..." showing in the middle. I can swipe down from the top to show the toolbar, but it is limited in what I can select from it and the phone doesn't get to the point where the home screen boots.
I'm guessing this could be an app optimization process but after 4 hours, it was still on this screen.
I've tried re-flashing (redownloading the firmware files), clearing the cache and rebooting the phone.
Does anyone have any ideas?
In case you do want to start clean anyway, have you tried doing a reset in the recovery menu (where you are wiping the cache)? This will wipe all data.
I may have to try the full wipe, which is something I wanted to avoid but seems I have no choice.
Hopefully that at least solves the problem.
I have the same problem but I cannot get it to boot into recovery or download mode. I was flashing Magisk at the time. Odin said it worked but now it wont pass the initial stating android... Odin detects the phone but can talk to it. ADB does not even detect the phone. Phone power and reset come on. if i hold both volume the assistant comes on and if i hold bixby the safemode tag appears in the bottom corner but it still wont boot past Starting Android or boot into download mode

My phone is stuck in bootloop and keeps going to an 'erase' screen

I tried to root my device trough odin. Odin said it was succesful, but when i turned on my device it said someehing like 'vertification failed, you have to reset your device'. So i tapped the button 'reset'. Then my phone restarted and its now stuck on a boot loop with the 'erasing' screen. It just goes to a blue screen with the android logo and beneath it it says 'erasing'. Then after a few seconds, it restarts and turns back to the screen again.
I cannot get into recovery mode, because you'd have to do it with the power button, volume and bixby button, but the second i try to do that, it just restarts and starts the loop again. Even when my phone stopped with the bootloop and just shut down, when I hold my power button it just restarts the boot loop... I already let the battery drain but then still, it just happens again.
I can only get into download mode, but thats all. I dont know my build number. I already looked at the box my phone came in when i ordered it, but all I could find was:
- an IMEI code
- an S/N code.
- a long code existing of numnbers only.
None of these codes I think were build numbers, only the S/N code contained letters.
So I dont think i have my build number. I cant get into recovery mode since it just starts the bootloop.
Please help
My phone is a samsung galaxy sm-g950f
I hope my phone isnt bricked and this can be fixed.
