I was wondering if there is anyone who has a grandfathered VZW unlimited data plan that has flashed the 930U firmware? If so, does anyone know if the built-in wifi hotspot works without checking provisioning? CVertigo1 thread is great and he thinks it works, but is unsure.

I have a stock fresh 930U (factory unlocked US variant), and I want to root it. However, if I do I need to use the AT&T firmware (from what I can tell). Is it possible to get the 930U rooted but still use T-Mobile's wifi calling/VoLTE?

What are you asking? If you can flash att firmware on a U and still use T-Mobile wifi calling?
If so, why? T-Mobile is the only carrier that the U firmware supports wifi calling for
Hey everyone...So I just rooted my HTC BOLT running version 7.0 Nougat and I was wondering if there is a .apk or something I have to add or edit or make any changes in order to bypass sprint's actual wifi hotspot network charges.
On the S7 I was able to get my wifi hotspot back on my locked AT&T S7 by odin flashing the t-mobile firmware, it also removed all the at&t carrier bloat, but I lost wifi calling. Is this possible on the AT&T S8. If so can someone tell me which firmware to flash? I have been searching but nothing comes up that is definitive or recent enough to be confident in it.

Hi, can anyone tell me if both the G935F and the G935U will allow tethering without checking with the carrier (provisioning) on their stock ROMs?
I'm fine with the stock ROMs, I just need hotspot tethering to work perfectly without checking with my carrier (Cricket) and for Samsung pay to work properly in the US on the phone.

I read some people mentioning flashing unlocked firmware will let you hotspot without provisioning.

Will this work for me? Is there any hope or am I regulated to doing the sim card dance on every hotspot?
I'm on the unlocked firmware and have no restriction. The hotspot is unlocked and no carrier block is on it. I use the hotspot all the time and it was a main reason I went with the unlocked firmware.
