Good luck with that battery life. I had a nexus 5 and after custom roms and kernel tweaks still had horrible battery life.
I'm going to experiment with it. My main phone will be the Moto X Pure when it comes out this week. I think I posted in the wrong thread though lol, this Tapatalk app is confusing.

So it's labeled as an 8GB model and it's actually a 16GB model, or is it the other way around? Why the hell would you return it if you paid the 8GB model price?
/me is simply not seeing a problem here...
It's labeled a 8gb but it is a 16gb. Also I paid for the 16gb while it was still showing back order last week. So I'm guessing they just took a white 8gb model switch the inside in and forgot to replace the 8gb sticker. But I called told Motorola and they said in their end it shows I order a 16gb model so don't mind the sticker. But I'm eventually gonna unlock the bootloader and flash anyway. This was mainly to warn those and don't freak out about it......unless it was really a 8gb lol
Well then everything worked out balanced - you got a 16GB you ordered, no harm no foul. Would have been a real score if you ordered/paid for an 8GB and did get the 16GB however, could have used the price difference for a nice case or a back cover or two, I suppose.
Same thing happened with my order 903Tex. Under the back cover it says 8gb but the phone does have 16gb + 2gb RAM. Thanks for the heads up.

Any opinion on this vs whats known about the new Nexus devices coming September 29th? I was waiting for them to be officially announced before I buy a new phone but this is tempting...

That's an AWESOME price for what is still one of the best phones out there performance-wise.
Anyone own a Moto x 2014 before they bought the Nexus 6. Is the battery life and camera much better? I suspect them to me about the same as my Moto X.
That is a great price. I have the 64G Nexus 6 and it's fantastic. I read that the 2015 Nexus will have a little more than 5" screen. The 6" screen of the Nexus 6 is a great feature and it will be hard for me to settle for a smaller screen in the future. My old SGS III screen looks tiny.
If you just bought this phone like I did within the past 7 days from amazon they will credit the difference because of the price drop -)..... Oh yes you have to contact them it does not happen automatically..
Was waiting for the Moto XPE but decided to jump on this deal today. Best Buy did a price match so I'm already enjoying it.
Bought a 32gb white version this morning. I couldn't let this phone slide for that price. What's crazy is... just a few days ago I also bought a 64gb Moto x Pure. I guess it's gonna be a Moto month for me?
bestbuy also updated their pricing..
Hard to pass up, have a best buy gift card. No one knows how it compares to moto x 2014? Is it a step up?
This was too good of a deal for me to pass up as well. I've been going strong with my N5 for a while, and was probably going to keep it if Google released the 6.0 image with T-Mobile WiFi Calling, but I had to jump on this.
I was waiting for a few more details to be more concrete about the new Nexii phones, but so it goes. This is a steal of a price, and I've wanted to try out the bigger screen anyway. Everyone I see with either a Note, N6, iPhone 6 Plus, etc etc all say the same thing...once they got used to it, they can't imagine going back to a smaller screen. Good call for those of you who went to Best Buy and did the price match with them. I thought about checking it out, but was hoping I could skirt a bit of the Illinois sales tax through Amazon.
Looking forward to getting my N6, should have it on Tuesday I would think. Amazon shipping says Sunday, but I highly doubt it'll actually get here then.
I know these phones will work on Verizon but does anyone know if Verizon will actually activate it if the IMEI is not on their white list? Would swapping in the SIM out of my current Verizon HTC M8 work?
Thanks
Bill
I got this phone like a month ago at the first level of price drops
Lol, oh well. If your thinking about it do it. Great phone.
If you want one but "its too big", no its not. Buy one.
Too good of a deal to pass up, had to get another one as a backup.
This is the quandary I am in as well...I just sold my one plus one and an lg g3. I'm using an s5 for now but really hate all the crap it took to root and the limited development. I loved the one plus it had active develoment but missed the wireless charging from my s5 and nexus 5 before that. I think this may just be the right phone, wireless charging active development only thing missing is no fingerprint scanner and no SD expansion. There really is no perfect phone right now...
---------- Post added at 07:16 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:11 PM ----------
And I maybe the only one but I do love the IR blasters in Samsung and LG phones they are so convenient. If I could put stock android on my s5 it would be the perfect phone.
---------- Post added at 07:18 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:16 PM ----------
And I don't necessarily want to wait for the two new models as I like that the development is going strong on the N6. I got the N5 right when it came out and it took a while before good roms started rolling.

To the person wondering if the nexus 6 is a step up from the moto x 2014, I had both and the nexus is by far a huge step up in performance, battery life, and overall, everything. I am glad I did it.
I'm about to buy my wife one as well since the price is so low. What a deal!
Nick
Good to know. Thank you! You get at least a couple hours more battery than moto x 2014 right?

Hi Guys
Started this forum for UK users.
Anything goes but please be courteous to each other.
Updates and support will be posted in this first post.
Looking forward to ordering my Nexus 5X!
Subscribed, wondering when it will go live on the play store....
What about uk price? Has it been confirmed yet? I can only find US price at the moment?
Hmmm, live event has finished and Nexus 6 has gone out of stock at the same time.... F5...F5....repeat! LOL
and as if by magic, the N6 is back in stock again.... as you were!

They did't say anything abut play credit for UK!
Heres a video of the casing............

Ordered 32GB Black - 21-23 Oct estimated delivery. Really pleased we didn't have to wait too long this time round.
anyone get quicker than 2-3 delivery?
Ordering mine in January, looking to get 2 - 2.5 years very good usage out of it
Poll up for which version you've bought! Hope you all haven't had any major problems.
Just be aware that your bank might block the payment if it is declined so just check with them and on wallet.google.com for details of transactions and payment details.
Snaked by Google with that pricing, snaked by specs, snaked by the pitiful 16gb base storage, snaked the apparently stereo speakers which are actually mono, snaked by the lack of a NOTIFICATION LED, what on earth were they thinking? Absolutely not worth it, and unless Google have more stock or something, this is the first nexus launch I've seen where it isn't immediately out of stock - it's been at least an hour, and I can still order it. It seems people don't like it. We've been shafted by Google and LG here, and I don't like it one bit.
The Huawei looks decent though.

Unlikely, like everything else "only in America!"
WIll order it for my mrs as she badly needs a new phone since she smashed the screen on her N5. Will order the ice 16GB for her.
I think it'll wait and see how reviews go before I order mine. I'm happy to stay with my N5 for now.
The stats on the phone forum page say 3gb, but it's only 2gb?
Was going to look at the 6p, is it that much bigger ?
Should I or shouldn't I get the 5x?
16gb black ordered. 16gb was enough for me on my nexus 5 so repeating the same even if it is only another £40 for the 32gb
Just meh... It's a good phone, but it could have been so much more with so little extra effort...
Hey guys! Don't kill me for asking all these questions, but..
I'm currently using a Nexus 5x, but it's gone bad (Melts chargers, usb data connection melted, etc)
I'm really interested in the Moto G5 Plus, but, I'm having difficulties finding it in person, so i intend to order one online!
So my questions go:
I have only seen two varients, a 32GB-2GB, and a 64GB-4GB. Is this it? Are they all "Potter" And will work with this rom?
Is the bootloader difficult to unlock? i see some kind of scrubber and pasting of data on a website i found.. seems kinda simple but i wanna be sure ♥
Is it safe to buy one on Amazon? The 32GB Variant is currently on sale. Is it safe to use the "Moto Maker"?
I see "DTV for XT1683 model" is broken. What is "DTV" and which model is XT1683?
Thanks for your consideration! ♥
EDIT: Too late, bought the 64GB Varient from Amazon. Wish me luck!
I just picked one up for my wife and have been pleasantly surprised. Of course we are coming from 3 yr old phones, so anything is an upgrade. Having the finger print reader, fast charge, adequate camera (certainly better than the LG G3 camera), unlockable boot loader, etc all for $180 for the non ad 32gb version I feel it is an incredible bargain.
I hope you got the non-ad version from Amazon as you cannot unlock the boot loader on the ad version. That is the only issue to watch out for. You can get rid of the ads on the ad version, but there is currently isn't a method to unlock the boot loader (and likely never will be).
Enjoy!

Which G5 Plus did you buy? The cheaper Amazon subsidized version or the slightly more expensive non amazon subsidized version?
If you bought the Amazon subsidized version just note that the root process will likely be different than the non subsidized version. See this link: https://forum.xda-developers.com/g5-plus/help/resolved-root-moto-g5-plus-amazon-t3652932
Its a good phone with one or two issues however. Moto is apparently rolling out today a potential fix (see this post in their support subforums) for the poor/garbled audio on Verizon, no word yet if it works or if it fixes any of the other issues (like low volume on headset) the phone has.
I am planning to buy this phone.I am currently using galaxy s8. As good as the phone it is,i am kind of disappointed with the stutters and occasional lag.I want a buttery smooth experience.
So here are my questions?
How is the performance? is it as good and smooth as pixel? Any lags, stutters or hiccups?
did the camera improve after the recent updates?
How is the battery life?
I got a deal for 500 CAD i.e 400 USD . do you recommend the phone?
thanks in advance
For 500 (400 for you) then hell Yes
There’s not a single phone out there with
SD835 with this amazing build at this price
Even OP5 cost more than essential phone.
I would trust essential phone over Chinese phone anyway especially with their BS benchmark and collecting customers’ data.
Best top of the line phone for a budget price.

Thanks. Can you provide some insight into the performance and battery life
Works great, battery is excellent.
Battery life is the best of any device I've had. Camera is great using gcam. Downsides are case availability and really only one usable glass protector. Overall though the device is great.
Fellow Canadian here, is this a public deal. If so I'd love info on where I could buy it as well.

It's appropriately priced at $500 USD, but definitely look I to OnePlus 5T that will be announced soon. Also, many carriers have steep discounts on the Galaxy S8. At Best buy, you can buy an unlocked S8 for 624 USD. If you go through a carrier, some are offering up to $300 off. With Black Friday around the corner, keep an eye out for deals.

Sorry to disappoint you. No its not a public deal. My colleague is offering it.
Even though essential slashed 200$ off the price in states, Telus here in Canada is still selling it for 1050$ if you want to buy it outright.

which color did you order?I checked amazon.om .Only white one is 500$.I dont see one for Black though
I had an s8 and note 8, performance is on par or better. Battery life is similar to the note 8, so all day with 3-4hrs sot. I also had a pixel and the stock Android experience is very similar, although I do periodically have lockups with some apps where I have to clear then from recents and restart the app. Overall this phone is by far the best phone I have used, and I go through a lot of phones, I also think curved screens are an annoying gimmick and I like small phones.
Edit: I shouldn't say the best phone by far, it's more that it is just a phone that fits what I perceive as the perfect form factor, small foot print with large non curved screen. Being unlocked with stock Android just makes it even better.

It's pretty good, it's not a Samsung device with all of the special little features however for a seamless Android experience, it's great. This device will do well now with price drop. Then when the Essential PH2 comes out, it will go back up in price for sure as it is worthy of it.

Yes I have to agree, the size form for the Essential is great. It's a zippy device as well. I'm glad I have it to use when I want to switch from my note 8 from time to time.
