Hey guys, after i unbrick my phone with one of the pe lite's version available in the web, it's written in the case of version 'NRD90M test-key', for fix this problem I decide the flash the oeminfo, but unfortunately that just get worse, undetected sim card, inability to unistall and even the inability to access the developer settings to unlock oem, I've tried to dload the same version as the oeminfo, but in vain, dload fail.
So the question is, why the dload failed and how to fix the problem, maybe I have an old sd card (class 4)? (I've a p9 lite l21)
Thank you in advance guys !!!
Up
Did you flash the correct oeminfo? It might the problem, check it
I didn't flash the correct oeminfo of the original version of my phone but I tried to flash a l21 oeminfo and update my phone to the same version. I didn't see a problem with that because it's the same hardware.
Try the official rollback package

Good day all,
In the process of trying to debrand my huawei P9 Lite I think I may have mad a stuff up.
I downloaded: VNS-L21_C432B120_Firmware_CEE&Nordic European_Channel-Others_Andriod 6.0_EMUI 4.1_05013RHT.zip
Extracted the files and copied the update.app to the dload folder on the sd card.
Turned off the phone and initiated the update.
It re flashed the phone and everything appeared fine.
Phone no longer has vodafone nonsense on it
It now reports software version as : VNS-C900b150
Any other attempt to update the phone results in "Software is incompatible"
I see on the box the phone is a VNS-L31 - so I think I flashed the incorrect firmare.
I tried Killer8e's toolkit : http://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p9lite/development/europe-vns-l31-toolkit-bootloader-t3432873
But this always displays phone model as unknown.
Is there a way to "force" a flash back to VNS-L31
Forgot to mention: Everything on the phone appears to be working fine in its current state.
Thanks

Have you tried to flash a l31 rom with the dload method?

Just to clarify, The dload method is uncompressing the firmware and copying uppdate.app to a dload folder on the sd card.
If so then yes I have. It gets to 5% and then tells me incompatible software error and reboots.

Well, if you say that your device is fully functional, you can use it like that.
But if you want to restore it I personally think at two options:
1 - Try to force the update by modifying the build.prop and replace the model number (vns-l21 with vns-l31) but you will need a lot of patience
2 - Decompress the update.app and flash partitions manually via fastboot (boot, system, data, recovery, modem, cust and any other partitions are in the update.app)
Thanks for the help.
I will try the fastboot method. I will search for it myself now, but if anyone has a decent howto it would be appreciated.

You have to debrand your phone...
That presume: unlock bootloader + twrp + root + (prepare in dload folder a C432 - B160/B161 firmware) + flash oeminfo C432 + repair firmware with dload folder.
It is a lot to do and somethings may goes wrong resultin in bricking your phone...
If you assume the risks, after that you have a C432 - B160/B161 phone which can be updated to B370/B371 via Firmware Finder.

Since you are here and obviously know a lot more about p9 lite than me, can you please find me a guide to do stuff that you told me to do. I know it's a lot to ask for, but I've been grinding all week trying to find guides etc and couldn't. Thanks in advance!

What you have to do i already said but you have to read arround here to do followings...
1. From anywhere you are (B336, B329, B170-160-130) you have to prepared in dload folder a B160/B161 stock firmware (B160 for Dual Sim, B161 for Single Sim).
2. Flash oeminfo/custom.bin (for SS phone or DS phone ) for your phone localisation: C150, C185, C432.
3. After that firmware become corrupted and need to be repaired from dload folder via 3 keys pressed / dialer code / emui error message.
4. Once you have a functional B160/B161 firmware install Firmware Finder (+proxy addon) and check <Use new firmware> and <Use system updater>.
5. Reconfigure WI-Fi connection from indications in Firmware Finder Proxy.
6. Search for B370/B371 firmware (B370 for DS, B371 for SS) of 1,94 Gb size for your phone localisation and send it to updater.
7. From there it is downloaded, verified and reboot to emui updater wich make his work and bring you B370/B371 firmware.
PS: - for flashing oeminfo/custom.bin i recomand this tool which make that work just fine.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/hu...nt/europe-vns-l31-toolkit-bootloader-t3432873
- if you have a flash-able zip of oeminfo/custom.bin i recommend flashing with twrp.

Thank you very much man!!
Vns p31c636b170 how to install naugat in this ,
if some have zip file link that's better, or any suggestions please
Hi all,
i own a p9 lite that was on Nougat VNS-L31C432B381 and i decided to rollback to MM. Following Huawei website instructions I downloaded two packages (rollback package and MM) and with 3 buttons method I flash first the rollback package and then MM. All went right and the ROM was stable. After a while of testing (that's why i went to MM), I decided to upgrade to nougat again. From updater it download and install the new android version (1.25 GB). After reboot I noticed that some system app was missing (file manager first). At every reset/factory reset some system app disappear. I repeated the procedure to rollback and upgrade again with the same result. The only way to use the device was to reflash MM and don't upgrade. Here some information I found:
- my starting version was Nougat VNS-L31C432B381
- now I'm on VNS-L31C432B160 (B160 isn't for dual sim? i have the single sim version) stock recovery bootloader locked
- updater try to install VNS-L31C432B370 (instead of B371?)
- if I try upgrade throught updater SN became something like ndr90 test key
- I tried to restore data, syste, vendor, oeminfo ecc.. from backups made with TWRP in Nougat (maybe wahile i was on MM, I'm not sure). It show the correct SN but ROM was still unstable
- I thought to try install full Nougat ROM but i didn't find any package
Can someone help me?
Thank you
The B37x update that the phone automatically finds after rollback doesn't work and will take you to ndr90 test key as you found out B160 is dualsim so you should flash the 161 one. Then use this guide to update through firmwarefinder/proxy https://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p9lite/how-to/how-to-b388-nougat-maybe-b381-guide-t3612072
If you want to unlock your bootloader you can also flash B3xx through twrp. If not, the guide above works fine.

Hi Mara-X and thank you for you answer.
After I write the post i found the B161 package and i decided to give it a try. After flash (all ok) I launched updater again and it download the B371. The update went well and now i'm updating at B381 again throught updater. I think, when it was done, i'll factory reset the device for a clean install. So it seems the problem was B160/161 -single/dual version.
Hi everyone!
I just noticed that my P8 Lite ALE-L21C128B130 hasn't been updated since a while and i was wondering why i didn't receive Marshmallow. Turns out my provider does not support P8 Lite anymore hence we didn't receive any OTA. The past two days i've been reading about updating manually and i successfully unlocked my bootloader.
My firmware is ALE-L21C128B130 and i've read on the internet that before the 6.0 update i should put ALE-L21C432B170 on it. I tried it, created a dload folder and put the UPDATE.app in it. Rebooted but i always get the "Software install failed" error and it reboots with the original L21C128B130.
Please help me find a solution for this problem because now i downloaded the third B170 firmware but everytime "Software install failed".
What should i download? Which versions of the firmwares? And do i need to do anything else except putting a dload and selecting "Update from local" in the EMUI menu? I'm putting the dload folder on the internal memory of my phone cause I have a class 4 SD card and i read somewhere that it wont work from that one. My phones internal memory has 2,8GB free space out of 16, could this be the problem? If so what should i delete, cause i checked every folder on it and i just cant find what takes up to 10+GB of storage.
Thanks and cheers from Hungary!

For dual SIM only!
1. Unlock bootloader , (get unlock code here )
2. Install TWRP 3.0.2.0 (the p9 lite section is full of instructions on how to do it)
3. Download VNS-L31C432B370 fullOTA-MF-PV firmware (2 ZIP files), link:
https://cloud.mail.ru/public/D4kV/xcpuDX7Eu/
and copy downloaded files to the SD Card
4.reboot to TWRP, tap Install, Select storage Micro SDCard
5.Flash update с432b370.zip
6. go back without reboot (!!!), flash the additionnal package update_data_full_VNS-L31_hw_eu.zip
7. In TWRP's main menu select Reboot system.
Note: read the instructions carefully, check unfamiliar terminology by google or xda.
After successfully installing EMUI 5, you can upgrade to a higher build number via the dload method and Service ROM
B416
(Instructions can be found in ReleaseDoc folder).
Good luck!
P.S.:keep in mind that all firmwares that end with even numbers are for dual SIM (odd numbers are for single SIM).
