I have Galaxy S3 Neo and Galaxy J7 2016. When I'm charging J7 with S3 Neo's charger, the charger goes very hot. When I charging the neo with J7 charger, neo goes very little hot, almost not. But in 2nd case, Neo's battery drains a little fast after full charge with J7 charger. And.. it is safe for charger to become hotter when charging, it is normal?

Bro,first of all just look for output in the charger! if tha charger have 2.0 A its safe if its 1A its safe dont use high rating charger like 2.5 a or 3A it will shot battery life!:fingers-crossed:
I believe the J7 has a 2 Amps charger, while the S3 neo has a 1 Amp charger. Don't take my word for it, though. check the chargers.
If that is the case, then it is safe to charge the S3 neo from the J7 charger, but not vice versa. The J7 will try to get more than 1 Amp from the S3 neo charger, and the charger will heat up, and it may fail altogether.

I've got my note today and the charger has output 5V and 1.0A
My galaxy s charger has 5V and 0.7A
Can I charge the galaxy note with the galaxy s charger? I know it will take longer but beside the charging time is there any other downside? can i damage my battery?
thx for help
I think you might mess up your battery stats if you used the galaxy s one first, but i think if you do the first 5 chargers from flat to 100% to get them right no reason why you couldn't use the galaxy s one. After all usb charging is slightly less output than mains.
thx alex

I use my GS charger most of the time
I dont notice much difference in charging time.
ONLY charging time is the diffrence. most noticable if gameing, navigating or streaming music via 3G+bt at the same time.
Hi,
I have bought a new huntkey portable charger (power bank) PBA-6000 with output current 2100ma. But My galaxy s3 is not charging with this charger. And my galaxy S3 can be charged from the regular charger and from USB from PC. So this means there is no issues with the phone. I also have one galaxy grand phone and it can be charged from this power bank. that means there is no issues with the power bank. Also I tried two other huntkey power banks PBA-4000 with output current 1000ma and PBA-2000 with output current 600ma. And with these two I can charge my phone.
Can Anyone tell why my galaxy S3 is not being charged by this charger. Is this due to the high current rating? But if it is so why galaxy grand is charging? can there be any compatibility issue and Is there any solution of this problem?
Thanks in advance.

Pretty sure it wouldn't be an issue! I actually used the samsung charger from my S8 to charge my HTC 10 last night and it took surprisingly long to charge! Out of interest i then decided to charge my S8 using my HTC charger and the HTC charger charges it faster then the one supplied by Samsung! Maybe Samsung are being cautious with the fast charging capabilities since the Note 7 dilemma! Who knows. . . . . . . . . I just found it interesting that the Samsung fast charger (whilst it is pretty quick i guess) but doesn't compare to my HTC fast charger!
Samsung fast charger charges 3000mah battery from 0 - 100 in 1hr40mins
HTC fast charger charges 3200mah battery from 0 - 100 in 1hr 20mins
I was using my old S6 charger all week, no issues.
I believe they're all using the same 15W charger. Samsung has not revised the charging power since S6.
Moved on up from the s4 to s7edge. Had lots of experience with different chargers and cables over the years while settling on 'Ampere' to display charge current.
My old s4 charged at around 1400ma yet the s7edge struggles at around 1000ma ??. Tried a few cables and the standard 2a samsung charger, also the later 'fast charger' that looks the same other than the fast charging lable.
Ideas ?. Thanks in advance...
Using 'Ampere' to measure charging current, worked well on my old S4 and showed the huge difference in cables and chargers.
Now with my S7 Edge I'm seeing lower charge currents (max 1000ma compared to 1400ma with the S4). The Samsung 'fast' adaptive charger makes no difference !?.
Loving my new Samsung inductive 'fast' charging pad (around 75% of the cable current as expected) yet if connected to a samsung 'fast' charger the lights on the base just flash ?.
Anyone had experience ?. The model numbers from the supplied charger and cable (new S7 Edge's) would be VERY interesting.
Thanks in advance...
Fast charging only works with the screen OFF
