Is there an easy way to return to the latest stock rom or the one before the latest? When I received the M I have it didn't have the stock rom on it or a backup of the stock rom so I was hoping there was a way to return to stock but still keep my unlocked boot loader and re-root.
My goal is to return to stock, root, install recovery, make a backup so I have a stock backup then flash the current rom I'm using now. If anyone has or could tell me the steps I need I would appreciate it. I don't want to lose the boot loader unlock so I won't be able to install roms

It's impossible to re-lock your bootloader. You can use Avi's solution, you can flash the FXZ from here http://sbf.droid-developers.org/scorpion_mini_xt907/list.php and re-root witth Motochopper or by flashing SU in recovery, or you can use Matt's utility 1.20 to flash to stock. There is also a pre-rooted, de-bloated ROM here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2408763 and stock flashable ROM here http://batakang.com/ftp/?dir=devs/mhous33/XT907.
Your easiest bet is to use Avi's solution or flash one of the last 2 ROMs I listed. If you FXZ back to stock or use Matt's utility, you'll need to re-install your aftermarket recovery. With the last 2 ROMs, they can simply just be flashed in your aftermarket recovery.
Hey
Since I don't know how to make a backup of the stock recovery without root or custom recovery, I want to ask if anyone already has a backup of the stock recovery and want to share it. Or if you know a site where I can download it, you can mention that too. It's just that the gt i9515 isn't that populair.
Thanks
If you want the stock recovery back, then just flash the stock rom. No point in backing it up.
I thought the recovery isn't a part of the rom. Am I right?
Does anyone know where I can get it?
Hi All,
A couple of days back, I installed custom ROM (Recreated Remix Leopard) successfully on Zenfone 5. I was on the stock lollipop 3.24.40.87 firmware before that. I rooted, unlocked Bootloader and installed TWRP recovery on the stock ROM and I also took a nandroid backup. After using the custom ROM, I decided to go back to the stock ROM. I used the nandroid backup for restoring and got the stock ROM. But, now I want to go back to the stock Kitkat ROM (as the lollipop sucks) and I also don't want the custom recovery or anything. In short, I want to revert my phone to the real factory condition.
I tried to go back to Kitkat by the ASUS official method. But that didn't work. Then I tried to re-lock the Bootloader with the tool from which I unlocked it. But when I did that, I got stuck on the USB logo screen. So, I unlocked it again with the same tool and the phone starts normally. So, how do I get back now?
What would happen if I flash the stock ROM via TWRP? Will it remove the custom recovery and lock the Bootloader?
I read a couple of articles, a few of them suggested to install the stock ROM with the official ASUS method (copy the files in internal storage and the phone will notify to install the update). The article even says that by this method any custom modifications (recovery, root, Bootloader) will be deleted. Is it true or will this work?
Thanks in advance!

Link rom WW 3.24.40.87 modded, flash via TWRP: drive.google.com/open?id=0B7Py5ad2aHwKMHRsZ1NJM0tfLTQ
If you flash this rom, it will not remove the custom recovery + lock the Bootloader
If you having a problem while flashing this rom, you need to flash stock recovery 2.22.40.54, after that you can sideload stock rom via ADB
Sorry for my bad english ^^

Hi, thank you for the reply
You said WW 3.24.40.87 modded, do you mean that this rom is not the official one? Does it improves the battery life and other bugs of the stock rom?
I really appreciate your help!
You cannot flash stock rom via TWRP!
This is modded rom, so you can flash it via TWRP easily....
It's Official rom from Asus, just modded to be able flash through TWRP

Thank you for the info
But the thing is that I am already on the stock 3.24.40.87 rom and I want to go back to Kitkat 2.22.40.54 because it has much more improved battery performance than the lollipop. Is there any modded version of the stock Kitkat rom too? Or how do I go back to it?

You need to flash WW 2.22.40.54 recovery via Fastboot first, then sideload rom via adb

I just need to start fresh on my A510FD and I was wondering if I could simply flash the stock firmware to get rid of TWRP. I have a backup of the original recovery. The question I'm trying to ask is: can you remove TWRP by flashing stock firmware or do you need the backup of the original recovery. If not, could anyone provide me with some instructions on how to flash my stock recovery? Thanks a lot everyone!

Hi,
I am currently trying to get into Andriod Development. I have an old Note 4 that I can play with and want to try some things. Haven't done so yet.
So, I understood that it is necessary to move to a custom recovery to be able to root the phone or to flash custom ROMs. I think I also understood to go back to the stock ROM.
However, an information I haven't found yet is: If I flash a custom Recovery, e.g. CWM or TWRP, is it possible to revert to the stock recovery in any way?
thanks in advance.
