I already known stock rom on A300FU does not support OTG, the hardware seems capable of doing it (other phones with the same processor like Xiaomi Redmi 2 has support).
The question is, anybody has been able to get OTG?
It may be possible installing a module or you have to replace the kernel to get it?
I have seen in other thread that work to get CM 12.1 is in progress, but I don't have sufficient score to ask them if OTG is working.

Hi, any news? Lineage Nougat for A300F has OTG but I want to be able to activate it on a rooted stock Lollipop
Hello, Any news @chemary, @tHesTx ?
Is it possible to have OTG with stock 6.0.1 rooted?
Or maybe by importing the kernel from Lineage OS?
Did you achieve to do this?
No, I gave up the idea of having OTG on this phone, I even changed 2 Samsungs from then, sorry.

I couldn't get OTG, but I was able to connect to a DJI drone and I think it uses PTP as a host, so maybe the hardware has support for OTG but is not enabled in firmware.

Hello guys,
I m having problems with securiy settings. Problem came after flashing Skydragon after cm13 custom rom (CyanPop). You know that you need flash new mm modem to get things work on mm roms, so i think that security problem comes from that modem or propably because of TWRP 3.
Any suggestions guys?
Skydragon 3.3 + boeffla 1.1

you can also go to the thread with the flashable zips for oxygen os and flash the 2.0 Oxygen OS and then do the OTA update. You will have to reinstall TWRP and root after but the modems will be fixed. Thats what I ended up doing
I have combined the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T TWRP threads into a single thread for the unified build.

They are official zips distributed by OnePlus.

Warning: Do not flash partial update OTAs (under 1 GB) on a modified device! If you want to use partial OTAs, you must first flash a full OTA that it applies to, and then flash the partial OTA from stock recovery. Flashing partial OTAs from TWRP will either fail or soft brick your device. You can return to a usable state by flashing one of the above full OTA zips in recovery.
Thanks for the update - Just recently built a build with your updated device tree and can finally decrypt on everything without having to switch between the modified verison from eng.stk and last official.

try and tell? if you have issues, provide logs
in the case of twrp crashing at boot, go into OS and do:
Code:
adb exec-out su 0 tar cf - /sys/fs/pstore > pstore.tar
then upload pstore.tar
*** you will need to be rooted
Really excited to try the latest version once it gets uploaded. Was waiting for it to be able to decrypt my ext4 storage on Nougat. Hope it will work fine now.
Oh wow. Finally something is here. Hopefully this will work well to root my Nougat, without causing the wrong password problem.

any reason SuperSU stable is suggested instead of SR3? are there any known issues?

RC2 is actually newer than the official one that gets uploaded, the only difference is RC2 has a bug fix for backup permissions.
In official TWRP you won't see your backups while booted into ROM because they are owned by root with no security contexts.
In 3.0.3-1-rc2 you will see them because it should be properly owned by media_rw and with the correct contexts.
Official releases happen under the tag of current release (3.0.3 at the moment), and doesn't have that fix.

We know stable is working, and SR1 and SR2 had problems. 2.80 stable is coming out soon as well.
Best off keeping the link going to a stable version, don't you think?

BTW does it record any logs when decryption fails in recovery? I am really annoyed with this issue now.

change your boot up password while in your rom, then change it back to however you wanted it.
the encryption key has to be generated on your current rom for it to decrypt properly in TWRP.
Enable signatures on XDA if you want to know how to give logs, I guess.

Does the Portrait mode for Camera works already ? I dont have it the old Camera from MIUI 9 is still the camera in this version but I suppose this should be different.

OTA
I see that AI camera is still not supported in this version. Anyways can we recieve OTA updates via the Updater app when new version arrives ?
Installed via twrp.
First boot settings in chinese, I dont even remember, how I managed to switch to English.
Nice new animations, lots of Mi stuff - all in chinese.
New options like AI and Car mode also in chinese.
Lost twrp and root, had to flash twrp via fastboot again, then Magisk.
Android Nougat 7.0
No Google stuff, have to install google from mi store and so on.
Camera doesnt have portrait mode
Tried to uninstall chinese cr.., restarted and ended in bootloop.
If you have lot of time and good nerves, go for it.

i dont think that is possible, the updater checks for update according to your mi account, if you had not applied for alpha rom tester you cant receive ota even on alpha rom
How do you install this?
I wiped: System, Data, Cache and Dalvik
Flashed
Now at boot I only see MI logo, and it's not loading android.
Downloaded 6.5.2 version for my prime.

PERSONAL UPDATE
My G6 Play (JETER-SPRINT), just recently had it's screen die. I replaced it with an E5 Play, because it was cheaper. I would love to get another G6, but unfortunately my lack of money does prevent me from doing so. My G6 Play and my E5 Play both had their screens die, and I've gotten an E4 (PERRY-TMOBILE), as well as an unmoddable phone.

so i got it running the problem was dm verity, i followed the steps on the website and it didn't work the 1st time so i reformatted all the partitions with TWRP and used adb fastboot to install the stock ROM and to my surprise it worked. since the TWRP recovery was replaced with the stock one i reinstalled TWRP and booted onto recovery and installed the DM verity on the stock rom and tried AOSP gsi and it booted up perfectly and i installed the android GO gapps and its faster than a dream. i was having a problem with audio so i tried installing V4A and it fixed all the audio problems except the earpiece when making calls.
I would like to contribute to this thread because the moto g6 play needs more attention, so could the readers of this thread send me roms you would like me to test.

so as i get up to 10 posts, i want to create a thread for people with this phone can test out all the gsi roms and have so we can add to this list, could you help me out my m8 her0?!
A couple solutions for problems I ran into.
No Play Protect Certification when using Gapps:
This one is very easy to solve. First, install your GSI of choice, but do not install Gapps. Install Magisk as well. Then you want to boot, and go straight to Magisk and install the MagiskHide Props module. Then go to https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2239421 download Osmosis Busybox and install through Magisk. Reboot and download your favorite Terminal Emulator on APKPure. Install it and open, type "props" without the quotes and press 1 to edit your fingerprint, follow the instructions and set it to the Moto G6 Play but don't reboot when asked. When at the main menu again, Press 2 and then choose the first option and enable it, this time reboot when asked. Load into TWRP and install Gapps, no need to clear cache or anything.
Audio is choppy:
Simply enable the equalizer.
i tried installing descendant and it booted as if i had lost my IMEIs and didn't recognize the SIMs. i restores my stock backup and the IMEIs are back. what did i do wrong?
the steps i took:
wipe data
flash descendant system image
disable dm-verity
flash magisk and booted
