[Guide] Honor 5X KIW-L22 (Indian Variant) Back to Stock [L22]

If you wanna restock your Indian Honor 5X (kiw-l22) for warranty reasons, etc, this guide should, well, guide you!
This method works no matter which recovery or rom you're on. Data is wiped. So backup if you care about your data.
1) Download the following file and extract it.

2) Copy the dload folder to your phone's external memory card.
3) Shut down your 5X and let it stay like that for 10-20 seconds.
4) Press and hold the volume up and down buttons and press the power button.
5) Let go of the power button once you feel the vibration while keeping the volume buttons pressed.
6) The device should enter Software Upgrade mode and the flashing should start automatically.
7) Let it flash and reboot twice.
8) You'll be back to 100% stock. :highfive:

Oh really ? Just on Stock + Root din't it work charm removing bloatware ?? Only three were on for our devices -Bliss, Cm13.0, 12.1

Well for me yes it worked !!
I flashed stock B130 then updated to B150 . Then twrp, root , debloat script and root app remover. Phone finally working the way It was before. I will flash cm 13 or 12.1 after finger print sensor working on CM.

Even i'm waiting for it, i tried porting fingerprint sensor - flashed it did not work either.

Hi,
on KIWI-L22 (Indian)
I had enrolled for beta program previously, so installed b130 and updated to 6.0 MM beta. I didnt like it much, so I switched back to CM 13.0.
As Official MM 6.0 is out now, so I wanted to switch to stock.
Following the procedure mentioned in OP, I downloaded L22-B130 and tried to restore stock but it failed mentioning "wrong version".
then I downloaded the L22-B320 version

and follow the same procedure. "voila" I returned to stock MM 6.0.
My whole point in saying all this is once upgraded to MM, then you have to use the MM "update.app".

You said, no matter which recovery you're on,
But I tried with twrp and incompatible stock recovery, shows "Software Install Failed".
What do you think about this? Please give me a as solution, I'm in bootloop.

4.Q:"Does this rom/kernel support OTG?"
A:No there is not.OTG support is a kernel feature that isnt available for our device.Maybe devharsh1998 is working on this maybe he isnt who knows be patient.
5.Q"Which rom is the best?"
A:Answer for this question is subjective you can always easily try couple of them.I like mshoaib7 ports i am currently on Nexus Experience ROM but i plan on switching to nougat soon.
6.Q"ED300 links aren't working?"
A:ED300 isn't developing for our device anymore and his thread links are not working but you can try some of the files that are on his androidfilehost folder

This isn't tested by me and since the development stopped they are not recommended since bugs can't be fixed anymore.

A:If you are stuck on a splash screen/bootlogo
Can you enter recovery by restarting your phone and holding vol+ and vol-.If answer is yes just reflash the rom or try different one.If you cant enter recovery mode but can enter fastboot mod by holding vol - when restarting the device then follow this quide :

8.Q:How to change cache and data to f2fs
A:You need to have a recovery that supports f2fs thats burgexx and tingychan 3.0.3.0 and 3.0.2.0 twrp
Be ware all your data will be wiped!
Step 1: go to wipe format data type yes and wipe all
Step 2: Comeback slide the option "Slide to do factory Reset"
Step 3: Go to Advanced Wipe Section Select all Partitions "Expect SD-Card/External Storage"
Step 4: Wipe them all
Step 5: after wipe is complete select cache "Click on change file system type" and you will find f2fs option there hit it
Step 6: Do same for data that is Select "data " click "Change File System type" hit f2fs
Step 7: Flash Latest Rom & Gapps Reboot enjoy

Also you need to be sure that rom that you plan on using suports f2fs (dev harsh roms and some of the mshoaib ports)

find ROM for your device download it.Unpack zip transfer system.zip and yourregion.zip (yourregion.zip is optional and if you live in india its probably india.zip) and flash it in TWRP recovery.Go to wipe, swipe to factory reset then go to install and select system.zip ,swipe to install it then select yourregion.zip and swipe again,reboot.If you are having problems with TWRP flash stock recovery via fastboot or flashify etc..

I tried and saved it. But now Camera and flash not working.
Whenever I open camera it says "stopped working".
Is there still water inside out? Camera?
What I can do?? I tried clean flashing latest RR ROM.
But it says the same thing.
Anything hardware related repair can be done from home?
How much it will cost for camera and flash repair? For a6000+

Its probably hardware problem.Camera or flat cable died from water.

I tried replacing other device camera..
I tried replacing it with Lenovo vibe p1m camera.
When opened camera application it shows front camera without any problem but does not show back camera.

Is there a Z17 Mini S international/EN ROM version? I haven't found one on their site nor anywhere on the internet, can someone please help, do I use some other ROM (the one for z17S perhaps) or do I just have to flash, root and install gapps on the chinese rom as the only solution?

I received my Z17 mini S with International Firmware EN, with gapps . Android 7.1.1 , Nubia UI 5.17.6.20 , Firmware NX589J_ENCommon_V1.01 . Works Perfect, love this phone

I have CN V.216 and it works fine except that you don't know when downloads in Google Play will occur. It can take 2min or 2weeks

Nubia z17 mini s (NX589J) problems rom
Dear all.
I'm new in this forum. Also I'm a Nubia z17 mini s (NX589J) user but not so happy about it because the device has big problems:
- Problem with Play Store (sometimes work sonetines not)
- Battery drains too fast (i have to put all the day the energy safe mode)
- Not works the direct update option from mobile settings
- Not complete translation to English or Spanish
- Other software bugs (i can't modify/remove the icons in the louncher, problems with sharing directly from ES EXPLORER apk, not possible to sync Google Keep apk, not possible to check the screen shot directly from the miniature...)

Install English version ! ( v 1.01 )
1- No problem with PlayStore
2- For me battery life is very good
3- Google Keep works normaly
4- Translation is not 100% in your language in any firmware !
Better launcher in this phone for me is a Nova Launcher , you can find a premium version in google.
Other bugs that you mentioned works.
The better way to install a stock rom ( v 1.01 ) is :
1- Put rom V 1.01 in storage and reboot to twp recovery.
2 - Install stock rom, wipe dalvin/cache, root and reboot.
3 - If in initial setup, you get freezed in wifi settings, come to twp recovery and wipe data, ( not format data ),wipe dalvin/cache, root again, and reboot.
4 - In you got freeze in initial setup settings when it ask you to put a name, after setup a date/time, you click next without put a name, and you must be good to finish setup and enjoy the phone.
5- If you can't open sms app after update, do this: the problem of sms app, you need to do a factory reset in accessibility settings, and root again, and after its all ok
Stock Firmware ( v 1.01 ) The file to download show v 1.0. , but is 1.01, not uploaded for me.

Your information is good but please understand that I am not an expert. I think a guide could be perfect.
On the other hand,when i press the updating option in the mobile settings it doesn't do anything. After pressing it, the screen is the same I don't enter in the updating configuration. Could it be becsuse i have changed the mobile lenguaje to Spanish?

To enter in recovery mode, go to settings, system update and at the right top side ,you will see 3 points, there you choose local update and you select the zip file of the stock firmware that you downloaded before, you need to put the file in memory phone
Put also the twrp zip file, to install a recovery to root the phone after
So, backup your data before this operations.
Do that and return to forum and show where you are

Hello friend.
I. Can't enter in the updating option. I press it on settings but nothing occurr. I am still always on the settings. Settings/update.... Nothing. I am still on settings.
Msybe is because i have changed the lenguaje to Spanish?

Power off the phone
Press and HOLD Volume UP and POWER button, still you see nubia name, and release, you enter in recovery mode too like that. Your language don't change nothing, you can use spanish

Now i am going to do a backup of my data according to your comments.
Could you confirm with the v101 Google Play Store works correctly? Google keep syncs correctly? Can you change the WhatsApp background? An the most important thing: does the battery consumption is improved (1,day, 1,5day...)
Can i return to the same firmware status? Where can i download the originals firmware?

How are you? We would like to know if your version is still working correctly.
After checking the forum, main problems for NUBIA Z17 mini S are:
- Not correct updating process from Google Play Store
- Not correct synchronization (Google keep, contacts, accounts...)
- Battery drains quickly
- Whatsapp background can't be changed

- Rooted = Not (How can I do it?)

How to install rom from Odin as not tar files ? - can't access recovery mode ?

I have searched for this there are similair threads but nothing exactly answering my question.
I hope you guys can help - my knowledge-base is pretty limited !
I've rooted my S5 and flashed TWRP recovery using ODIN
But now I can't access recovery mode - trying the volume up power - home button method . also variant on that but it only goes into download mode - It was working fine before so I don't think it a hardware issue.
I thought I could just flash the rom using ODIN but that only accepts tar files etc .
Am I missing something ?

After flash you tried to boot directly into TWRP recovery and didn't let it reboot by itself?
Which TWRP version did you flash?
Sometimes multiple flashs do the trick.
Or flash an older version.
Odin can't flash custom ROMs (zip or img) while stock ROMs come as tar.md5.
So for a custom ROM TWRP is essential.

I flashed this version: twrp-3.4.0-0-lentislte.img.tar
I can't get into any recovery screen - it only goes to the download screen so I don't think it is a problem with the particular version - otherwise I would expect to get to the standard recovery screen ?
volume up + home button + power button is loading the download screen , as is same with volume down.

So you should have a S5 LTE-A, correct?
Give TWRP 3.3.1-0 a try.
Had probs with 3.4.0-0 on to different devices other than S5.
Are vol up and down working correctly on stock ROM?
If you flash stock better use the multiple part version.

My device is the S5 SM- G900F I think that's the same as the LTE at least it was the only one offered that sounded like mine ?
Can you help me with the link for the 3.3.1-0 version and I'll try that ?
The volume up and down are working for volume

If it's G900F the TWRP you should use is for klte.
Does it say 900F on the sticker under the battery?
Open https://twrp.me/samsung/samsunggalaxys5qualcomm.html and select your device and the best mirror for you.
Then choose the version you want as tar.
Might be best, as you've flashed the wrong recovery, to flash stock first so that you have a clean & proper device before flashing again TWRP.

There are several:

They will usually come as zip so not before unpacking you'll see if it's multiple or not.
On some you might have to have an account for free access.

Depends on which custom ROM you have installed.
I always choose the smallest number of Google Apps (all not included can be installed separately) and sometimes the bigger packages cause problems.
So for all customs from Android 7 - 9 I recommend Opengapps pico.
For Android 10 I've found that BiTgapps cause less problems if at all.
The difference between them afaik is that the last doesn't have Google tts included.
Working an other android 7-9 as well of course.
Both of course ARM as G900F is a 32b device.

and the Gapps package you suggested - pico.
All seems to be working fine so far -
I was thinking of a new phone as this S5 had got so slow - and full ! but reluctant as it's the last with removable battery and many newer don't either have removable storage.
I think this custom rom will give it new life

If you allow me to recommend:
For my S5 is a backup device I've tried several customs.
Therefore I've installed the Q version of crDroid as others like Havoc or pure Lineage were either not as stable or didn't offer that much settings options.

Switch from Lineage to ArrowOS

LineageOS stopped support for the Redmi 3s. Can I now easialy upgrade to ArrowOS? So just install ArrowOS. I googled a lot but can't find a solution for this. I'm inexperienced in this. But I know with my router I had to go back to stock firmware first before I could use another alternative firmware. And was wondering if this is the same with the phone or I can just install ArrowOS conform there manual.
My Redmi 3S serves me still well. I only call and use some apps. So I don't want to buy a new phone yet. Why waist something that works perfectly well?

You don't need to switch back to stock firmware just make sure you have a custom recovery like Twrp,Redwolf,Orangefox,etc. If you don't even have than just install a custom recovery and you are good to go just put the ROM file and Gapps file (optional) in your phone's internal storage and follow the following steps.
1.Boot into recovery mode.
2.Wipe Dalvik,cache,system and data.
3.if it shows error then just Format Data once in the recovery mode only.
4.Go to Install section click on ROM zip file and swipe to flash.
5.After installation go back to install section and click on Gapps zip file and swipe to flash.(optional)
6.Now Tap Reboot System.
7.Congeatulations,you have successfully installed the custom ROM on your device.
If you have any queries ask and I will try my best to solve them.

Thanks, that's correct. and I already did that. I took the risk. ArrowOS has a zip with gapp included so just install one file. I was fairly easy.
I must say I'm very happy with it. So anyone searching for a alternative for the Redmi 3S could use it. It's very good as far as I can see and it runs well and smooth. Happy that I can extend the life of my phone for a couple of months, maybe even more.

Hi,
You have the vanilla build and the gapps build. I used gapps build (with apps).
ArrowOS - Downloads
It's as fast as the lineageOS I had and looks more appealing. Android 11.
The battery life is awesome. I have more than 3 days battery life. I use the phone mainly for calling, duh, and some social media, banking etc. So I'm not hooked on my phone and watch for hours. My Redmi 3s is 5 years old.
The install was easy and the updates also. Runs very smoothly. Only issue I have sometimes is that the camera has a hikup if I need it for an app that scans QR/barcodes codes or something. Than it hangs, I have to push the back button and then try it again and than it works. Normal camera for photo's/video works fine.
For the rest I have no issues and it runs smooth and reliable. Using it for a couple of weeks now.
So the pro's are that it works very good, good battery life and it's still maintained. I have an update every week or so. LineageOS is out of life for the Redmi 3s (that's why I switched).
I really don't have cons only the small camera issue I mentioned sometimes.

i wanna ask one question have you ever faced charging problem in your redmi 3s like when you plug in your charging cable in your phone it automatically disconnects after 1 or 2 seconds and when you connect it again same happens. if yes then how did you fixed it. pls let me know i have this issue in my redmi 3s .

I only have that with some cables. Use another cable. My standard cable I use always charge with no issue at all

I use a cable and charger from Aliexpress. But I know some cables can have issues. Also with installing ArrowOS I had to find the right cable because it did not connect well with my pc. Luckely I have dozens of usb-cables around
