I film in 1080p60fps and for some reason I can't view any of my uploads in HD. The highest I can view is 420. So can someone please tell me what I can do here??

The reason I ask is because T-Mobile's Binge On may throttle the video quality, but if you also see this issue when you are on WiFi... Have you tried to record in another video format?

Not yet but like wtf I can't view 60fps and no one is doing anything about it??
The only issue I've had when watching other people's videos are ones that are in 4k60, it drops a lot of frams. But 4k30 or 1080p60 both play fine with no dropped frames.
i can watch others videos in [email protected] in youtube app. like this https://youtu.be/gUjfLDpXfWE

Hi,
web video downloader can download Youtube videos in high quality.

Get Coreplayer, you can choose the format you want for youtube videos when browsing in it.
Coreplayer works!
So what exactly is "HIGH QUALITY" option in the Youtube menu then? What resolution would that fall under if it's not high def?

Likely 480p or some derivative of it for bandwidth reasons.
Before Youtube made the resolution-selector available, HQ was defined as fmt=18, which I believe was 480x360 or something

thanks. Maybe I have bad eyes, but I don't think I can tell the difference if it's any higher quality than that
So I was trying to view videos on youtube from my Vibrant and the quality was so poor I had to give it up.
I tried about 15 different videos with the same result in quality
Is there a way to fix this issue ?
Try hitting menu and then there should be an option to watch in high quality.

What he said. Over 3g I'd defaults to low quality YouTube. That issue is fixed in 2.2 where you could always force HQ over 3g. But as is, hit menu, then watch in high quality.

try this, it's the newer version of youtube than the vibrants. theres an option where you can have HQ as a default.
Thanks man!
Thanks for the link, Aeson! It is nice to have everything looking much better when watching YouTube vids. Appreciate it!

yall complain about bad quality videos but be happy you don't have to deal with iphone users issues because they can't even choose to watch videos in high quality unless they have wifi or jail-broken their phone. ATT is terrible with trying to decrease data usage smh
Hi guys, since i searched all over the forum, i can't seem to find much or any full downloadable 4K samples, before i thought the YT ones looked good, but after downloading one in full ress non compressed ~ 50mbp/s instead of crappy 20 mbp/s youtube ones, i know understand that it does look ever better. Si i thought we can use this tread, in order to share personal footage, and full res/raw pictures if possible, thanks!
Since i don't own the phone yet, i will share my videos/pics later on, please do share i want to make a small collection, thanks!

Not sure about compressed 4K, but I searched on YouTube for 4K video and I was BLOWN AWAY by the quality. Its amazing. On the contrary, 4K wallpapers don't seem to be as impressive. :/

Uploaded to dropbox, or other free sharing service.
Ok so question.....the nexus 6 is out already. You think Google took off the feature on our note 4 just to bring it out on the nexus 6??? I wonder if nexus 6 owners can get 4K?
not likely; its a bandwidth issue, so I cant imagine any phone version of youtube getting any 4k videos any time soon
google doesnt want the bandwidth being sucked up by people who need to watch youtube videos in 4k on a 5 inch screen...

I second that mine buffers like crazy too even with excellent coverage.
Mine doesn't seem to buffer. On YouTube it doesn't show high res. I'm only seeing like 440p. When it does YouTube Vevo I get 1080p however on most videos. I can't seem to find anything in 1440p though. I'm not even sure I'm setting YouTube correctly.

Mine does that during certain hours in the late evening. Almost like they are conserving power to their towers. But most of the time I'm at 30+ mb/sec

And here I thought it was only me. It's just the app though cause if you click on a YouTube link and select Chrome instead of YouTube app it plays flawlessly. But if I hit the link and choose YouTube app it's impossible to watch. So there for it has to be an app problem.

You have to search for a video that was uploaded to YouTube in 1440p. Not all are. In fact, most aren't. He was suggesting that you enter "1440p" into the search box in the YouTube app so that it will bring up videos that are available in that resolution.

You're welcome. Happy to help.
Search for "4K Demo UHD 1440P"
I went to settings in the app and there is no option for 1440P so I choose auto, and believe me that's more then 720P which is the highest listed.
app still needs work and an option to choose 1440P but this video looks amazing on the Note 4!
I have the 1440p option but doesnt matter because this last piece of $&% update broke the app, now it only plays like 10 seconds then the video freezes but audio continues to play.
I am on YouTube version 6.0.13 and I have the 4k option. The option only pops up when you have a 4k video on tap. Very impressive.

anyone experiencing freeze when play a video on youtube in 2k. for example a video from MKBHD or someone else.
because i can only see videos in 1080.
anyone?
I've watched a few movie trailers in 2k and they played fine. I don't know who could watch an entire movie like that. Looks wierd to me. I always disable that auto motion plus crap on 240hz TV's. I'd rather everything I watch not look like a soap opera. =)
If you're on mobile data and you haven't called T-Mobile to cancel Bing On then they won't let you watch Youtube videos in 2k let alone 1080. They reduce the quality of Youtube videos to use less data. Of course if you're on wifi this doesn't make a difference.
If you have unlimited LTE, you can turn off Binge On.

But I don't think that's OP issue here di you have the youtube link we can try?

I've heard even if you have unlimited data, they will still throttle you if you go over something like 20 gig/month.
Is that still the case?

It was pausing for me on his new video also, so I searched other 2k videos and all the others played fine. I think it is just his video.
Yes. 2k videos freeze on me occasionally. I really am curious what could be causing it. I also had my entire phone freeze once when playing a video in the Break app. It totally froze and the speaker was emitting a crazy high frequency sound. I just held the power button until it rebooted
I can't say for sure, heard that they reserved the right to throttle any crazy suspicious usage, but so far I haven't got one.
I use 25GB just this couple weeks, it's just because I'm taking a break from work, and watch too much K Drama, lol. But usually every month, I used 15-25GB.

No problem....Yea, depending on my signal, I used to have 1080 YouTube videos freeze on me before I canceled Bing on.
The latest update seems to have fixed this
I think it has something to do with the updated modem, prior to update I was getting 7 -12 MB download at home, now back to normal 25-30mb.
And when i tried to play gta san andreas in full resolution break the game. Anyone?
I think the issue here might have something to do with ram management. It happened to me 3 times already. And even after the resent update it did it again! Hopefully there's a fix for this soon.
Edit: OK try this.
1. Open youtube app
2.settings
3 . Backround and offline
4.under save offline tab. Disable the sd card.
Hopefully this helps.
