Hi guys,
I am currently on the LUX CSC since I bought it unlocked in Belgium. This one barely ever gets updates. I was wondering if I can change to a different CSC? Perhaps the Indian or UK CSC? Whichever gets quick updates. Would it trip my Knox if I do so? Tl, dr , would I be able to claim warranty later, if need be?
Anyone? Any input on this would be much appreciated. I also wanna change coz this one doesn't support volte and my provider does, so I'd wanna try it out.
Your warranty wont be void bcs it didnt trigger knox.

Hi, I have just bought S4 I9515 and it seems I acted with rooting too fast. Unfortunately my phone has issue with frequent rebooting. I would like to send it to service with warranty but after rooting knox counter switched to 0,1.
Is there any way to reset knox counter or eliminate rebooting issue?
Thanks in advance for help.
Sebalos
Did you try installing the firmware again through Odin? There's no way to reset the Knox flag once tripped.
1. But isnt it possible for now or it is not supposed to be elaborated within the closest future at all?
2. Where and how could I find firmware for my phone model each original not branded and designated for telcom provider Play for Poland? What shall I check, verify and take into account during firmware compatibility validation?
3. Regarding issue with rebooting is any xda dev working on it or samsung? Is it supposed to be solved? I heard the issue can be related to battery.
4. Shall I maybe try to send to samsung service counting they will ignore knox counter? Do you know how much expensive could be such repair?
1. It's not possible for us to do it, at all. The Knox flag is set, as best as the userbase can fathom, via an EFuse. Once tripped, that's it unless Samsung can reset it.
2. http://www.sammobile.com is where you can get the firmware for your device. There is a firmware checker on the site, that when you enter the model number of the phone and the country, it will pull up the firmware you are supposed to have. Another portion of the site can pull up all the available firmwares worldwide for a particular model. You'll have to go over there and look.
3. What issues with rebooting? I have an I9505 so I have no idea what you're referring to. Flashing the stock ROM for your device may cure the reboot issue.
4. You can send it in if the firmware flash doesn't fix it. If Poland is a member of the EU, and I believe it is, supposedly Samsung may not refuse warranty service on the basis of the Knox counter being tripped. I caution you however that I am not a citizen of Europe, so what I have heard is simply hearsay. You'll want to confirm the truth before taking any action. Cost of the repair? Unknown, because it's impossible to know what could be causing the issue. If it's a problem with firmware they'll likely flash it, charge for the privilege, and send it back. If they have to replace the motherboard, that will be expensive.
Thanks a lot for your effort and all the best in the New Year if applicable for you
Regarding issue #3 my phone is randomly rebooting by itself. It can even do during a call :/
At the end of the month I'm going to be getting the EE version of the s7 edge here in the UK.
I want to know if I can flash the non carrier stock UK firmware as I have with my s5 without effecting Knox as I want to be able to use Samsung pay when it arrives. I'm just asking to be sure they didn't change something since the s5.
Thanks!
I'd also like to know, I have the vodafone version and want an unbranded version so I don't have to wait for updates.
Flashing firmware through ODIN will not trip knox, even if it's a different firmware version and or type.

Hi
I am noobish and would love some help from an expert
I Got my Note 4 SM-N910H on eBay a few years ago. I brought it unlocked not sure if its unlocked via IMEI or some other way (Its working with both USA AT&T sim and UK Virgin sim). Looks like it has been customized in some way because I went to Odin mode and it has binary & status custom and Knox voided.
Tried updating via settings and it will not allow it due to being modified. Tried Samsung Kies and it says its not supported.
Its currently on 4.4.4 firmware and i want to get it to 6.0.1.
I found a website with the official 6.0.1 firmware for N910H. (Cant post links but updato and samsung-firmware). The problem is there are multiple different country versions and I don't have a clue which country to pick? I want it in English. But there are none with USA or UK. Does the firmware country make a difference apart from language? I don't know what the original carrier was and there are no carrier specific apps installed. Does it have to be the same country as the original? Could I lose my unlock and not be able to use my sim card?
About Device:
Android 4.4.4
Baseband N910HXXU1ANIF
Kernal 3.10.9-2815469
Build Number KTU84P.N910HXXU1ANIF
Device Status Custom (Does that mean its rooted?)
I am happy with either official firmware or custom if its 6.0.1 or something better.
Please any tips/advice/guides or links would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

4.4.4 is the best if you want my advice don't upgrade you will regret.
marshmallow and lollipop both sucks on note 4 and once you upgraded the bootloader will be locked and you cannot downgrade back to 4.4.4.
If your device status shows custom then it means it was rooted and modified for some reasons to make it fully work out of china because N910H is chinese note 4 3g model i believe.
just pick your own country. if its not available, just pick a neighbor country.
btw.....before you try any of those, try to boot to recovery and see if TWRP is installed. if yes, good, continue by creating backup of your current rom.
if not, I suggest installing TWRP first and make a full backup.
about kitkat vs marshmellow, I'll go with MM. With MM, you got more features, you got more recent android security patch.
yes, its worse on battery. but some tweaks here and there will (almost) fixed it.
Thanks for the help
Tried installing supersu and it says its not rooted so don't know why it says device status custom haha.
Yes 910H does say its an asian model but the firmwares are not asian areas they are more like african areas? The nearest one to USA is Trinidad and Tobago i think.
Think ill just stick with 4.4.4 since I don't know what I am doing
TY

Take your time to read on some threads. Just relax, no need to rush.
I have 910h myself, and I'm enjoying this device with root and xposed.
To root, get your cfautoroot. Its a simple process, just a few click here and there.
Custom status means that your knox is tripped. It means it has been successfully rooted before.
Trust me, its worth the time spent.
Hey everyone,
I recently upgraded from my OP3 running HavocOS to the Samsung Galaxy S8+.
I bought it second hand from some guy who said he got it in England.
The CSC of the device from what I see is for the UK for the EE carrier. It is also the reason I am stuck on 8.0.0.
I want to change my CSC only so I can upgrade to Pie. My problem is I've searched the forums and the web but I've found too many "methods" and don't know which is the correct one.
I only want to change the CSC without tripping Knox, or rooting.
Can anyone point me to a safe, secure, "idiot-proof" method?
Much Appreciated!
I know this topic has been discussed ad nauseam. But I wanted to double and triple check before I did something stupid. So I have a few questions on changing the home country on my phone. If anyone could point me to where it's already been covered I could go read it up there as well.
Anyways, here's my problem. I've got a S10+ from Singapore and I am in India. I want to change the home country to India so that I can use some payment methods in Samsung Pay India, that aren't supported by Samsung Pay Singapore. What's the least painful method I could change the CSC without messing up Knox and future OTA upgrades?
I have a G975F/DS with the latest updates (FUH3). I'm on OXM_XSP.
Would doing a *#272... be a smart way to do this? Or do I need to download the latest firmware from Samfirm etc and flash through ODIN? Is there any way for me to do this without losing my data?
Thanks for your help!
