Hi All,
I'm looking to identify my head unit, if someone could help out:
It is suffering from sluggish performance, and when I ask for factory reset, it says no file found.
Model Number: Model ChangAn S
MCU Version M6241NNT-DH----V1.25
Android Version 4.1.1
Build Number M624100-C-1CJ2-HBW-V1.1.05R5-EN
Also, I cna see this written: 3.4.5-f958661 [email protected]
#243 SMP Tue Jan 20...2015
Physically, it has one dial, mid left side, and has the words 'Android can navigation entertainment system' written on it. Any help identifying/ pointing towards a way to improve performance would be great.
Thanks!

Hi All I was wondering if somebody might be able to help me.
I was given an android tv box for xmas and recently it has been resetting itself everytime I try to use it.
I've tried doing a factory reset but same thing keeps happening so was going to do a firmware reset only problem is I'm unsure what numbers have to match to get the right firmware.
My Device is a :-
Tonbux
Model number:
MXQ
Android version:
4.4.2
Build number:
KOT49H.20150820 test-keys
Kernel version:
3.10.33

I've tried loads of sites but none of them match the same Build number as my box.
I didn't want to use any of the other firmware that didn't match my Build number just incase I damaged the box, I am capable of doing the reset but only if some1 could confirm if the Build number has to be a complete match or if I'm able to use another I.
I found this latest 1 which is the closest to my number but no luck with exact match anywhere :
KOT49H.20150915 test-keys

Help Appreciated thx in advance.
Fred
Can anyone jump in and provide some help? I'm having a similar issue as the OP. I have a generic Android TV box which is unusable with a lot of crapwares. I just want to erase everything and install a vanila version of Android on it. Here's some info of the box:
- CPU: Rockchip RK3066, 2x ARM [email protected] 1.61GHz
- GPU: Mali 400 MP
Edit: I can kind of get to the recovery mode but no menu appears, just the Andoid robot laying down and a red sign. Before that it shows CloudTVBox so I guess that's the (brand) name of the box!
Thanks a lot
Ok so after some research, I think my main issue now is that I don't have the recovery menu, only the Android robot lying and a red sign. Can anyone provide some help? Thanks
I think you need to research unbrick your device. If someone can tell me how to export my firmware I could send you mine. Here are my following specs down to the chipset (i had to open my box to find out).

Hello,
I recently bought a Pumpkin Andoird Head Unit for my E46 (I'm not allowed to post links yet so I cant link it here)
It is a little bit buggy sometimes (apps randomly start at startup or sound doesnt work till I restart the device) so I was wondering if I could upgrade the thing or maybe install an other rom on it. After I googled a while i found out that it depends on the mcu wether I can update my device or not (am I misunderstanding things here?). So I looked up my MCU version but couldnt relate to any of the MCU versions I found. If there is something I'm missing or if there is a thread where all of this is explained I'm sorry.
Here are the informations that i get from about device:
Modelnumber: rk3188
Android version: 4.4.4
Baseband version: unknown
Kernal Version: 3.0.36+
Build number:
Alex:5201-20160321-125320-v3(4752)
TFT:5201-20151231-213308-V01
MCU:5201-20160321-113500-V01
Screen resolution is: 1024x600
I hope someone can help me
Best regards

My Android unit is not a joying product. However, I am using the same CPU chipset (intel sofia).
Joying has been updated to the new version of Android 6.0, so it Like that string "UI and mcu does not match". I have genuine firmware but I can not downgrade it.
Help me eliminate red letters and yellow background in my product.
My product information is
Android Version: 6.0.1
CPU Info: Intel ATOM 4QuadCore. GPU4D: MALI450 MP4
System Info: APP 1024x600 2016-10-09 19:11:44
MCU Version: 2016-09-06 17:39:41 KEQ_(NOR)__90_C9_7706_5009_CAN(XianDai)_Newlap
The boot is normal. I asked the seller, but I do not know how to get into recovery mode.
I still do not have enough information.

(from AliExpress Android)
That's the product I bought.
The product is SOFIA chipset is right. It is written by the seller differently from the actual one.
I will attach an image link before the update.

As doitright6 said, it is not a joying product, but it could be updated in the same way.
I will attach the updated JOYING 6.0 firmware and my unit's 5.1.1 genuine firmware.
Please let me know how to fix it.

Thanks.
Please help me solve the problem.
With the head unit rooted and a root file explorer you have to edit the ro.build.fytmanufacturer line in fyt.prop and change the number at the end to match that of KEQ
Which from what i have been able to tell with google searchinf is 15
So you would make the line say ro.build.fytmanufacturer=15
After you make the change, save the file and reboot the head unit. If all goes well the mismatch banner will be gone.
how did you know that KEQ is 15? What is DAOH?

Do you have a joying type id?
Which firmware did you try to flash?
Do you have a fan and/or heatsink on your unit? The Joying units can become quite hot during flashing and even too hot: the 1GB units even more.. That can also cause the boot loop. It might even help to take it partially out of the dash and use a hair dryer on cooling stand via the top of one of the holes in the side (and then of course: install a fan!)

THanks for the reply.

From the info i gave, what is type of HU?
Additional Info. The physical look is the same like in this video:

I overlooked the Android version 6.0.1 on your PX5. This means you have a QD unit. Joying used to have an upgrade from 6 to 8, but that has disappeared. You can not simply flash an android 8 version onto a version 6.0.1.
Contact Joying at one of their email addresses.
Youtube video that i give is upgrade from 6 to 8. Do you mean this tutorial?

I know it is the upgrade video. Joying did have a special upgrade firmware version some 8-10 (?) months ago. It is no longer on their blog. And simply flashing a version 8 onto a version 6 does not work. That's why I advised to contact Joying.

Looks like there was no reply to this. I have a similar situation and considering flashing a stable ROM whilst retaining CARPLAY. Appreciate any advice steering in the right direction. Thanks.
