Hey guys. This is actually my first Nougat phone. I bought the VZW Prepaid Version because of the price and the network in NYC Is great. I am actually experiencing a very weird issue with one game. I dont know if this is a NOUGAT specific issue but this game keeps showing up with blacked out graphics on parts of the screen. The last time I ran it it actually rendered my phone useless and unresponsive and restarted it. I emailed the developer and will update the thread if I get a response. NOTE: this game runs perfect on my LG running 6.0.1.

What would this mean in terms of how it runs applications though. Also, strange side fact : cpu-z is telling me I have a quad core snapdragon 430, which is an octocore processor. I know I have a snapdragon 425 ... Weird.

Different gpu renders things differently. It could be that this particular game isn't optimized to run on Qualcomm chips properly. I'm not sure tho.

Just an update...I have no update... Still haven't heard back from devs. Still experiencing this issue. Does anyone have the Verizon or at least US version of this phone? If so , the app is free should you care to help out and see if you can replicate the issue.
Also, this may not be related this this thread, but I cannot find the MEMORY menu under the main menu. Is anyone else missing this as well?

I figured there could be a connection. Also, Is there ANY other info I can provide to try to see why this is happening? I have Dev options enabled so let me know.

Not sure if this is the Moto G version, or Moto X aswell, but Motorola Official Blog just released a note:

I have a feeling the hold up on 4.4.2 is the broken Google now voice search aka hollow microphone bug.
The UK version is launching February 1st with Kit Kat so I'm going to hazard a guess it'll be out then

That's also the reason that the moto x will probably get updates a little slower than the G. The G doesn't have any of the features of the X, so it's got less to port /update.

yes this is true, you can find it posted by several users in Motorola forum...
https://forums.motorola.com/hives/3ba9b2429c/summary
Those issues apparently only affect only a minority of users. For me the battery is better than on 4.4.2, I don´t have any wifi drops and GPS is as fast and accurate as ever.
People are so crazy to get the update . I hope Motorola is looking into this and even though it affects few devices , rolls out another patch or patch further updates .
Also, if you previously disabled the messaging app and use hangouts, hangouts will be unusable after the update (constant crashes). This happens on the Moto G and Moto X 4.4.3 updates. The only fix is reset all your app preferences and keep the messaging app enabled.

perform a factory data reset before and after an OS upgrade. And wipe the cache a few times, too.

When you reset before a software update, you will actually go at the end of the queue for the servers - this could mean that you have to wait another 2 weeks until it's your turn again to download.

Yes, there is no point since the OTA only updates the read-only portion of the OS. It will not make the OTA apply any different by doing a reset before the update.

Not seeing this at all. Overall, 4.4.3 seems every bit as stable as 4.4.2 (NOW, I wish I could say the same about the latest XPrivacy beta releases, THOSE create quite a few issues with apps)

You are running stock 4.4.3 and have Messaging disabled and you didn't do Reset App Preferences? The crashes in Hangouts in this scenario are happening with both the Moto G (US GSM and 4G/LTE variants) and Moto X.

Exactly, I don't know why people are freaking out when it runs on the Nexus 5 and the Z3, as well as the Nexus 4 (which obviously doesn't have any of the prerequisites I'm assuming). All this news means is that Qualcomm will not provide support or official support its processor on Nougat. It doesn't mean that the processor cannot run Nougat.
We will no doubt get unofficial roms, but no ROM from LG because it doesn't support hardware based encryption for Nougat (yes that is the reason why support is dropped).

I recently bought and returned(because of a small hardware defect) a Moto G6.
Now that I had time to think better about what phone I want, I'm thinking a Moto G6 Plus or Redmi Note 5 might be better for me.
Only thing I need to know to decide is how much battery life I can expect to get from the Moto G6 Plus.
So, how does it do? Can I expect to get 6 or 7 hours SOT while on 4g? Maybe 5?
Thanks!

It will come it's only been out couple weeks don't forget , but seeing as it's not available in us development might be some what slower as G6 is totally different hardware and 32bit only, we might even not get a G6+ forum maybe a bit of the green eyed monster

I get about 3,5 hrs SOT in the 90-20% charge range - mostly phone, text, whatsapp, telegram, skype & websurfing.
Gets me through the day, but I think having a powerbank available ain't the worst idea...
Using it since last friday evening with full NFC cloning from my S7, will check again after a fresh setup some time.
