I have two phones and I switch between them depending on circumstances.
At this stage, I can only use my watch with one phone.
Is there a simple method to pair the watch with both phones or otherwise to unpair the watch from one phone and pair it to another without factory reset?
A little research and reading would have answered this question without a new thread ...

hi,
i and i'm sure many more like me will be wondering what to lookout for when purchasing a second hand/ used htc tytn/jasjam/xda trion/etc.....
i mean that if a person hands me his set, how to find its in good enough condition and its not gonna freeze after a day or so???
actually i am really a novice at pocket pcs and have set a bargain with a person to buy from him but to safeguard myself i want to learn from your valuable experiences.
hope you people be of some help to me and many others.....
Play around with it for a few minutes... Make sure it doesn't have hitescreen issues. Test all the buttons to see if they work, if the softkeys and dialer buttons don't work it could be a sign that whitescreen can be coming alond. test the touchscreen...New LCD needed if it doesn't work, add about $100AUD to price. Test slideout keyboard, any keys not working. Make a call/sms. Watch to see if radio problems... Connect wired headset or pc to test usb, connect bluetooth headset to test bluetooth. If possible connect to wireless network. And, after doing this, see how much power it has used. Do you think it excessive? Test an sd card to see if it detects.
Little things to try...
Cheers...
So with the new update I was having all sorts of problem trying to get my phone to pair with my Jeep Grand Cherokee's U-Connect. The only way I got it to work was to delete the phone on my Jeep in with U-Connect setup. Then start the whole pairing process over like it was the first time. Once I did that, it worked like a champ.
Every time I flash a new ROM I have to do this whole process over. With 1.5, I was able to just pair it up without deleting it from my Jeep. But not in 2.1. I'm wondering if this process might help others getting their phone paired with other devices.
Google needs to start supporting MirrorLink on Nexus phones. I have a Nexus 6 and the Pioneer AVH-4100NEX.
Android Auto has been a horrible experience so far. It worked at first, for a couple of months, and then I don't know why (Android update maybe?) but suddenly it stopped working and hasn't worked since.
Even when it did work, there were some VERY annoying things:
1) if your phone is plugged into the USB cable, Android Auto launches, and as long as you're still plugged in I couldn't find any way to temporarily get out of Android Auto (such as if I want to check my email or some other app on the phone). Or if I want to listen to a YouTube video (or watch it from my phone, lets say I'm the passenger ok?), then I'd have to un-plug the USB which means my phone isn't charging.
2) The other really annoying thing is that Android Auto limits developers in how many screen clicks user would need to do to get to content (including, clicking the down arrow to browse through a long list). Where this is a problem for me for example, is my Spotify playlists. Android Auto will only display about 10 or so of my playlists.
So I find myself disconnecting the phone from the cable and just streaming over bluetooth.
In fact at first I was really upset that my phone was no longer launching Android Auto at all and stopped working with my Pioneer AVH-4100NEX, but now that I am just able to leave the phone charging all the time and have full access to my phone apps, all my spotify playlists, youtube, and am just streaming over bluetooth now I'm not really sure I even want to fix Android Auto.
What I really want at this point is to just MIRROR my phone screen to my head unit. This way no matter what I want to watch or listen to, it doesn't matter if "Android Auto" supports it or not. I can put on YouTube videos, or anything I want.
So this gets me back to Mirror Link, I don't know why Google or Motorola is not supporting it, MirrorLink from what I've seen should be another viable option for Android users (and for now I think a better option than Android Auto)
It seems it's being treated as something old/legacy but in fact I think it's a step in the right direction and something we should all have the capability to do with our phones.

You have to take into account the many laws in different places concerning cell phones and driving. In some places you can get a ticket just for having your phone in your hand while driving. And now they are cracking down even harder on it. Also some OEM have been known to block some cars from working with devices like that. It was found that one samsung device had a list built into the OS that blocked a number of different cars from working with Android Auto. This I can only assume came from the Car manufacturer.
Also on a side not there is no need to open another thread about the same topic you have already replied to. This is called spamming.
For some reason, my phone and ZenWatch 2 randomly un-pair then try to pair a few seconds after. The weirdest part is that even this happens smart lock gets disabled. I have to be turned back on and add the watch as a trusted device again. It happens maybe once a week and while not a big deal, it is starting to get annoying.
Both are running the latest firmware and Android release. I have performed factory resets on the watch but I'm trying to avoid doing do on my phone. The watch is missing from the bluetooth devices menu do it's not an Android Wear app connection issue. Has this happened anyone?

I don't have a ZenWatch... I have a Pebble Time so I can't really help you but I did have issues trying to get mine to pair and not showing in the bluetooth screen. I found that I had to go into the watch and the settings / bluetooth before the watch would "broadcast" and be available to be "found" in the bluetooth list so that may be one thing you can check with the Zenwatch .. have the settings for the bluetooth open on the watch then try to find it on the Axon 7. I also couldn't pair it in that spot ... it kept giving me a "passcode" error. I had to go to the Pebble app on the phone and pair it through the app.
As for the random unpairing ... sorry to say I don't really have any suggestions on that .. that may be the watch itself ... my pebble has never unpaired once it has been connected.

I didn't have this issue with my last phone (HTC m9) so I don't think it's the watch

sorry for replying and giving you hope you had an answer ... I figured I would just relay my small issues because I never had those issues with my old Galaxy but had a bit with the Axon. Plus the Pebble doesn't use android wear so I really haven't had any experience with it ... sorry again for not actually providing any real help
I had the same issues with zenwatch and zenwatch 2 on different phones. So I just returned them. I assumed the zenwatch's just wouldn't work on Samsung devices. So maybe similar for you is and isn't the watch.
I currently have Samsung gear s2 working fine with phone. (There is issue with phone calls but that is great software issue on every phone other then Samsung)
I had the same issues with my zenwatch2. First the bluetooth devicelist on the phone was empty,no paired devices, i had to do a reset on the watch and pair it new.
This week i had the reconnect issue so i deactivated the audio playback in the zenwatchin settings, now everything works fine.

I'll give that a try
I got a new MOTO 4G Play to replace and older Samsung. I like it except for one thing. I have to unpair ("forget") the device and then cycle the radio on and off a couple times and then turn on the adapter and then pair and connect to get it to work. I have to do this each time.
I've contacted that adapter mfg and moto they both point to each other. They even said a new pone won't likely fix the problem. No one is actually interested in solving the problem. I'm sure there are plenty of others in the same situation. The adapter mfg says it is a problem with moto phones.
Are there any bluetooth radio hacks or other versions. I don't know what radio I have or how to find out. I'd rather not go with a complete custom ROM at this time.
Any suggestions on what the problem could be, how to fix, how to address compatibility problems when both mfgs say the other is causing the problem. Is there somewhere to officially complain about BT compatibility issues? Is BT an industry standard or a specific company that licenses it?
It seems like I should have some recourse here, but, so far I've spent a lot of time going in circles dealing with level 1 support people who only fill in forms or read off lists as well as time and money spent on phone calls, being put on hold, etc.
While Bluetooth is an industry standard, there are different versions (3.0, 4.0, 4.1, etc.) which transmit data in different ways. There are other standards as well, such as A2DP. But for all of this to work, both devices need to be able to detect each others' Bluetooth MAC and store it long term. If one device forgets it has that knowledge, then it won't recognize the others' BTMAC at all.
Changing to a ROM isn't going to fix this (Lineage is notorious for killing BT when you change from cellular to WiFi, and to this day it still isn't completely fixed). What I recommend is going into Apps, looking for Bluetooth Share, and clearing its data. Then try re-pairing to the device.
I tried clearing the data as you suggested as well as during a hard reset and that doesn't work.
I do have a sequence of steps that works pretty consistently, but, I have to do it interactively. I'm wondering if I could just write a script to do these steps. Some of them like the pairing and the connection take a little time and may need some timing steps. Ideally it could access a signal when the connection is made or not made etc. I could just set it in motion and go about putting on the seatbelt, starting the car, etc while it is working.
I have no idea what commands the different things I interact with use. It involves forgetting the connection, cycling airplane mode on and off, pairing and then after they are paired connecting. Any ideas?
Some people on the Moto forums suggest disabling Bluetooth Scanning. It seems to work for some people; others report no change in their connection after turning it off.
I'm running LineageOS, and as the previous reply stated, my Bluetooth restarts when changing between WiFi and cell data. I tried Bluetooth scanning on and off, and neither seemed to fix the Bluetooth restarts.
