Sounds like when you got your phone it was rooted and when you updated you lost root and got the latest version. You can root again and then install one of the debloated roms.

My GF needs a updated (stable) VZ TW rom for her S5. I don't remember how to flash a stock VZ ROM to my girlfriend's S5 using twrp without locking the bootloader? Any help would be great. Thanks. And any suggestions on stock TW ROMs?
Anybody?

I don't think you can without locking the bootloader

If I understand/read it right. I only flash the ROM zips, in twrp. Kernel is included.

Since the lock info is almost completely contained in Qfuses on the SoC, it should work just fine to put a normal verizon rom on it...I don't know why you wouldn't just use an AOSP rom though...
Thanks. It is for my GF....she's needs the stability. And on CM ROMs the GPS doesn't work. Maybe I can convince her to try something different though. Ha.
You can flash this.

It flashes recovery, though--make sure you don't do that if you don't want it.
Thanks. Will give it a try tonight
Nope didn't boot. Gave it about 13min
I had to flash TWRP in Odin to restore.... (A scary couple of minutes. Lol)
You really can't brick these things. Just create an unbrick image (there's a thread about somewhere around here) and put it on an sdcard. I'm serious--I absolutely hosed my phone (no bootloader) and that brought it right back.
Of course, I'm not issuing a _challenge_

I'm really curious at to why that ROM wouldn't work. What did you use to flash it?

Thanks...I'm using twrp, I was using Phil's. But I'll don't remember. When I get back into town I'll try again. Is there an update to twrp maybe? I would rather use a cm ROM but I could never get the GPS to pick up satellites.
Hi all,
After just over a year I finally want to flash my Note 4 for a couple of reason, but mainly as 5.0.1 is annoyingly stupid and having several issues with it.
So I do want 5.1.1, I do not want to lose S-pen/S-health features as I use those, but do want something that is as lightweight and quick as possible.
Also ideally I don't want to lose my Barclays app (I pretty much do 99% of banking through the app) and thus do not really want it rooted - unless and suggestions around that.
So what roms would people suggest?
Thanks.
Most ROMs come pre-rooted I think, best bet is to update to 5.1.1 through Odin and then do a clean factory reset to start a fresh.?

Thanks, the only reason for not rooting is damn barclays app, but suppose I could just use the website login.
If you are going to flash a stock rom u don't need to root, and remember to backup your data before flashing because u have to reset your device after installing the rom.
Best wishes

Is your bootloader unlocked?
What recovery do you have original or custom such as TWRP.

Then you can update the firmware again by putting dload folder in sdcard. After it updates your phone will unroot. By the way never uae kingroot. Kingroot is a sh*t app that will create problems in your phone.

For kingroot you don't need to unlock the bootloader. However I do not recommend anyone to use kingroot.

I thought Huawei sell their phones off contract. By the way you can contact your operator so that they can install Vodafone EMUI. Even if you install firmware you still will be able to use your network. For apps download them from play store.

Maybe try fixing yourself if you don't want to pay to fix phone. You will also get rid of Vodafone bloat ware.

Yes, i confirm, I had 2 devices with totally blocked bootloader, rooted with kingroot.
No recovery, no fastboot, none!
The "nandroid" (not nandroid really but img files), are for recover the /system and /data without turn off the phone using RohesoftDriveExpert
This app mounts created images, and reflashes the created images WITHOUT turn off the phone.

Are you saying that i can create a backup of my phone and install-it and root as gone?
No, you will have be more carefull after rooting, for prevent mistakes, now you will have to reinstall yor rom again to unroot your device.
I answered for who still don't knows, upon, dudding that apks like kingroot, is rooting devices with locked bootloader.
Haha, they locks the bootloaders "thinking" root , and recoveries, depends of unlocked bootloaders

You don't need be affraid with kingroot or another app when you are PREVENTED (BACKUPED), and have the tools for RECOVER your mistakes.
